What is Simple Rich Discord Presence?
3 parts
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide
Simple Rich Discord Presence adds Discord Rich Presence to the game. While you play, your Discord status shows a short message under the pack name, such as "In Overworld" or "In Nether", plus a small image with hover text.[1]
This pack ships the NeoForge build of the mod for Minecraft 1.21.1, and it was already included in 1.22.0 or earlier.[2]
What you can configure
- clientId is the ID of the Discord app the presence is shown through.[1]
- enable lets you turn Discord Rich Presence off completely by setting it to false.[1]
- screenEvent controls the built-in event that tells Discord when you're on the main menu. Set it to false to disable it.[1]
- clientJoinEvent controls the built-in event that fires when you join a world or change dimension. Set it to false to disable it.[1]
For pack makers and tinkerers
The mod has KubeJS integration. SDRP.setState takes a message, an image name for the hover text, and an image key. SDRP.getCurrentState returns the state the client is currently set to.[1]
For dimensions, the text comes from lang keys of the form sdrp.<dimension path>.in for the message and sdrp.<dimension path> for the hover text. You can edit or add these with data packs or with a mod like KubeJS. If you use your own Rich Presence application, the image keys are logo, loading and menu, and dimension images use the dimension's registry path, such as overworld, the_nether or the_end.[1]
Where it fits in the quest book
Unverified The sources here do not show any chapter, group or position for this mod in the pack's quest book, nor whether the ATM Star path uses it, so its place in the quest book is unverified.
How do you get started with Simple Rich Discord Presence?
2 parts
Same as in the FTB StoneBlock 4 1.21.0 guide
Good news: Simple Rich Discord Presence needs no setup from you. It only changes what your Discord profile shows while you play, and the pack's config already has it switched on.[1][3]
What to check first
- Make sure enabled is true. That is how the pack ships it. Set it to false if you ever want Discord Rich Presence off completely.[3]
- Leave enableUpdateScreenPresence on if you want Discord to know when you are on the main menu or other listed screens.[3]
- Leave enableUpdateDimensionPresence on if you want Discord to update when you join a world or change dimension.[3]
What your friends will see
The pack's screens entry covers the title screen, the multiplayer join screen and the world selection screen. All of them use the menu image.[3]
In game, dimensionsSupport decides the text. The Overworld, the Nether and the End each show their own dimension name. Any dimension whose name contains "private_for_" shows "a world of stone" with a "Team Base" label on the small image.[3]
The pack also sets a pair of buttons in buttons: "Join us on Discord!" and "Download the FTB App".[3]
The clientId option holds the Discord App ID that the presence runs under. You can leave it alone unless you are deliberately using your own Discord application.[1][3]
How does Simple Rich Discord Presence work?
3 parts
Same as in the FTB Evolution 2 1.1.0 guide
Simple Rich Discord Presence is about your Discord status. It sets a Rich Presence line under the pack name, like "In Overworld" or "In Nether", plus a small image that shows a hover text such as "Overworld" or "Nether".[1]
Built-in events and options
The project page lists these options: clientId (your Discord App ID), enable (set it to false to turn Discord Rich Presence off), screenEvent and clientJoinEvent.[1]
- screenEvent: the built-in event that tells Discord when you are on the main menu. Set it to false to disable it.[1]
- clientJoinEvent: the built-in event that fires when you join a world and when you change dimension. Set it to false to disable it.[1]
Unverified These options come from the mod's project page. The sources here show no config file for this mod in the pack, so whether the pack changes any of these values is unverified. If the pack ships a config file for the mod, that is where the values are set.
KubeJS integration
The mod exposes functions to KubeJS. SDRP.setState takes message, imageName and imageKey, all as strings. SDRP.getCurrentState returns the state the client is currently set to.[1]
- message: the text shown under the pack name, like "In Overworld" or "In Nether". You can pass plain text or a lang key.[1]
- imageName: the text shown when you hover over the small image, like "Overworld" or "Nether". You can pass plain text or a lang key.[1]
- imageKey: the name of the Rich Presence art asset to show, like loading, overworld or menu.[1]
The project page's example lives in kubejs/startup_script/sdrp.js. It listens for the Forge event net.minecraftforge.event.entity.EntityJoinWorldEvent. When the entity is a player and the world is client side, it reads the dimension's registry path and calls SDRP.setState with lang keys built from that path. That updates your status when you join a world or change dimension.[1]
Image keys and lang keys
If you use your own Rich Presence application, the image keys are logo, loading and menu. For dimensions, the key is the registry name path of the dimension: overworld, the_nether, the_end, or something like yamda_dim for a modded one.[1]
The text is driven by lang keys. The message, such as "In Overworld", uses sdrp.<registry name path of the dimension>.in. The hover text on the small image uses sdrp.<registry name path of the dimension>. You can change and add these lang keys with data packs or with mods like KubeJS.[1]
Which Simple Rich Discord Presence config options matter?
Simple Rich Discord Presence keeps its settings in one file: config/sdrp-common.json. Here are the options you're most likely to care about, with the exact values this pack ships.[4]
- enabled is true in the pack, so Discord Rich Presence is on. The mod's project page says setting it to false turns the presence off. The page words the option as "enable", but the pack's file uses the key enabled.[1][4]
- screenEvent is true in the pack. This is the built-in event that tells Discord when you're on the main menu, and setting it to false disables it.[1][4]
- clientJoinEvent is false in the pack. This built-in event reports you joining a world and changing dimension, and the mod page says false disables it. So with the pack's setting, that world-join and dimension-change reporting is switched off.[1][4]
- clientId is the Discord application ID the presence runs under. The mod page describes it as your Discord App ID, and the pack's file sets its own value.[1][4]
- buttons holds the buttons shown on the presence. In the pack there is one labelled "Join us on Discord!" and one labelled "Download the FTB App".[4]
- logState is set to true in the pack.[4]
What changed in Simple Rich Discord Presence between versions?
1 part
