Simple Teleporters is a mod in FTB StoneBlock 4 1.23.0, where it is version 2.2.0. Simple, yet powerful teleporters (Summary from the mod's Modrinth page.)

What is Simple Teleporters?

3 parts

Simple Teleporters is an easy-to-use travel mod, and this pack includes version 2.2.0. It gives you two ways to get around fast: a network of linked teleporter pads, and a personal home teleport.[1][2]

Teleporter network

The core of the mod is the Teleporter block. You bind an Ender Shard to a destination by sneaking and right-clicking a block, then insert the linked shard into a Teleporter. Stand on an active pad (the one with portal particles) and sneak to travel. For a round trip, set up two Teleporters whose shards point at each other.[3][4]

A plain Ender Shard only works inside one dimension. For cross-dimensional travel, you upgrade the shard to an Enhanced Ender Shard at a Smithing Table using an Echo Shard, and the linked position is kept during the upgrade. The in-game guide notes that Echo Shards are found in Ancient Cities in the Deep Dark.[3][5]

Teleporters can also be triggered by a redstone signal, which sends every entity on the pad to the destination, including players, mobs, animals and items. That makes them handy for automation, such as mob farms or pressure-plate stations.[4]

Personal home teleport

The Hearth Crystal saves a home location to you, not to the item. After you set it by sneaking and right-clicking a block, any Hearth Crystal held in your main hand can take you back after a 3-second countdown. It works across dimensions and has 20 charges, and you can refill it by crafting the depleted crystal with an Ender Pearl.[6]

Where it fits in the pack

The pack's quest book has one quest for this mod, "Simple Teleporters" quest, in the exploration combat chapter. It is untitled, and its tasks are to obtain the Teleporter and the Ender Shard, so it points you at the basic network setup.[7]

How do you get started with Simple Teleporters?

5 parts

Simple Teleporters gives you two ways to get around: a network of Teleporter blocks linked by shards, and a personal home teleport. Here's the order I'd tackle them in this pack.[2]

First, make an Ender Shard

The Ender Shard is the key piece that links everything together, so it comes first. In this pack it's made by smelting.[3][8]

Ender ShardMod recipe

Smelting

Recipe id: simpleteleporters:ender_shard

To link a shard, hold it, then sneak and right-click a block. It remembers the exact coordinates and dimension. Unlinked shards stack up to 16, so keep a few spare for new destinations.[3]

Second, craft a Teleporter

The Teleporter block is the pad you stand on. You need at least two to make a route.[4][8]

The pack's quest book has a quest whose tasks are the Teleporter and the Ender Shard, so it's worth checking "Simple Teleporters" quest as you go.[7]

Third, set up your first route

  1. Place a Teleporter at your destination.[4]
  2. Sneak and right-click that destination Teleporter with an Ender Shard. Clicking a Teleporter binds the shard one block above it, so you land on top.[3][4]
  3. Place another Teleporter at your starting point.[4]
  4. Right-click the starting Teleporter with the linked shard to insert it.[4]
  5. Stand on the active Teleporter (the one with portal particles) and sneak to teleport.[4]
Tip: For travel in both directions, set up two Teleporters with shards pointing at each other. Right-clicking a Teleporter ejects its shard, so you can reconfigure your network later.[4]

Fourth, get a Hearth Crystal

The Hearth Crystal saves a home location to you, not to the item. It's the quickest way back to base from anywhere, including the Nether and End.[6]

Hearth CrystalMod recipe

Smelting

Recipe id: simpleteleporters:hearth_crystal

Hold it in your main hand, then sneak and right-click a block to set your hearth. To go home, right-click and keep holding it through the 3-second countdown. Switching items or dropping the crystal cancels the teleport.[6]

Each crystal has 20 charges and every teleport uses one. When it's empty, craft it back to full with this recipe.[6][8]

Later: cross-dimension travel

A normal shard only works within one dimension. To link across dimensions you need an Enhanced Ender Shard, made at a Smithing Table. A linked shard keeps its destination through the upgrade, so you can link first or upgrade first.[3][5]

The pack changed this recipe, and it differs from what the mod's in-game guide describes. Go by the recipe shown here.[5][8]

The in-game guide says Echo Shards are found in Ancient Cities in the Deep Dark, so that's where to head for the upgrade.[5]

How does Simple Teleporters work?

8 parts

Simple Teleporters is built around two systems. The first is a network of Teleporter blocks that you link together with Ender Shard items. The second is the Hearth Crystal, which gives you a personal teleport back to a saved home spot.[2][3][6]

Crafting the pieces

Everything starts with the Ender Shard. Here is how you make it in this pack.[8]

Ender ShardMod recipe

Smelting

Recipe id: simpleteleporters:ender_shard

The Teleporter block itself has its own recipe.[8]

Linking an Ender Shard

  1. Hold the Ender Shard in your hand.[3]
  2. Sneak and right-click a block to bind the shard to that spot.[3]
  3. The shard now remembers the exact coordinates and the dimension. An unlinked shard says "Unlinked" in red, and a linked one shows its X, Y, Z and dimension.[3]

Where the shard actually binds depends on what you click. Clicking a non-solid block binds to that exact position. Clicking a Teleporter binds one block above it, so you land on top. Anything else binds to the face you clicked.[3]

Unlinked shards stack up to 16, but linked shards with different coordinates won't stack. To change where a shard points, just sneak and right-click a new location.[3]

Setting up a teleporter pair

  1. Place a Teleporter at your destination.[4]
  2. Bind an Ender Shard to a location above that destination Teleporter by sneaking and right-clicking on it.[4]
  3. Place another Teleporter at your starting location.[4]
  4. Right-click the starting Teleporter with the linked shard to insert it.[4]

Once the shard is inside, the Teleporter shows portal particles, which tells you it is active. Stand on it and sneak to teleport to the linked destination.[4]

Right-clicking the Teleporter ejects the shard again, so you can reconfigure your network whenever you like. For travel in both directions, set up two Teleporters with shards pointing at each other. If the destination is blocked, you get an error message, and a brief cooldown stops instant re-teleporting.[4]

Dyeing and placement

Right-click a Teleporter with any dye to recolor its quartz base and platform. All 16 vanilla colors work and the default is white. It is purely cosmetic, but handy for color-coding destinations. Teleporters are also waterloggable, so you can place them underwater.[4]

Redstone and automation

A Teleporter can also fire from a redstone signal. When it gets a pulse, it sends every entity standing on it to the linked destination: players, mobs, animals and items.[4]

It only triggers on the rising edge, when the signal goes from unpowered to powered. A sustained signal won't make it teleport over and over. The guide suggests a few ways to use this:[4]

  • Mob farms that send mobs to a collection area.[4]
  • Timed player transport driven by redstone clocks.[4]
  • Pressure plate triggers for hands-free teleporting.[4]
  • Button-activated teleport stations.[4]

Crossing dimensions

A normal Ender Shard only teleports within the same dimension. For cross-dimensional travel you need an Enhanced Ender Shard. You make one by upgrading a shard at a Smithing Table, and the linked position is kept. This pack changed that smithing recipe, so go by the recipe below rather than the in-game guide text.[3][5][8]

Enhanced Ender ShardChanged by the pack

Smithing Transform

Recipe id: simpleteleporters:enhanced_ender_shard_smithing

You can link first and upgrade after, or upgrade an unlinked shard and link the Enhanced version afterwards. The linking data and custom name survive the upgrade either way. Enhanced shards still work for same-dimension trips, and they work with redstone activation and entity teleportation too.[5]

The Hearth Crystal

The Hearth Crystal works differently from the shard network. Its destination is saved to you, not to the item, so any Hearth Crystal can take you home.[6]

Hearth CrystalMod recipe

Smelting

Recipe id: simpleteleporters:hearth_crystal

  1. Hold a Hearth Crystal in your main hand, then sneak and right-click a block to set your hearth location.[6]
  2. To go home, hold any Hearth Crystal in your main hand and right-click to start a 3-second countdown.[6]
  3. Keep holding the crystal until the teleport completes.[6]

Switching items or dropping the crystal during the countdown cancels the teleport, and you can't start a second teleport while one is pending. It works across dimensions, so you can come home from the Nether or the End.[6]

A Hearth Crystal has 20 charges, and each teleport uses 1. The durability bar shows what is left: green when full, yellow when low and red when nearly empty. Once it is empty it can't teleport until you recharge it with an Ender Pearl.[6]

Hearth CrystalMod recipe

Crafting Shapeless

Recipe id: simpleteleporters:recharge_hearth_crystal

Restores all 20 charges.

Pack settings

The pack's server config has server.enableSableIntegration set to true. It lets Ender Shards bind to Sable SubLevels, which are Create: Aeronautics airships, and it does nothing if Sable isn't installed.[9]

Tip: The Wandering Trader in this pack can offer a Teleporter for one Ender Pearl, with 1 use on that trade. Traders only get a random selection of their trades, so the offer may not show up on every trader.[10]

How do you progress through Simple Teleporters?

4 parts

Simple Teleporters is built around two ideas: a network of Teleporter blocks linked by shards, and personal teleportation to a saved home. Here is how the steps stack up in this pack.[2]

Tier 1: Ender Shard

Everything starts with the Ender Shard. You make it by smelting an Ender Pearl.[8]

Ender ShardMod recipe

Smelting

Recipe id: simpleteleporters:ender_shard

To bind a shard, hold it, sneak and right-click a block. It remembers the exact coordinates and dimension. Click a Teleporter and it binds one block above it, so you land on top. A regular shard only works within the same dimension.[3]

Unlinked shards stack up to 16, so keep a few spare for new destinations. To change where a shard points, sneak and right-click a new location. There is also a shapeless recipe that takes an Ender Shard and gives back an Ender Shard.[3][8]

Ender ShardMod recipe

Crafting Shapeless

Recipe id: simpleteleporters:clear_shard

Tier 2: Teleporter

The Teleporter is the block that does the actual travelling. It is a shaped crafting recipe.[4][8]

TeleporterMod recipe

Crafting Shaped

Crafting Shaped
Empty slotEnder ShardEmpty slot
any gold ingotany diamond gemany gold ingot
Quartz BlockQuartz BlockQuartz Block

Recipe id: simpleteleporters:teleporter

In the pack's quest book, "Simple Teleporters" quest sits in the exploration and combat chapter. Its tasks ask for a Teleporter and an Ender Shard.[7]

  1. Place a Teleporter at your destination.[4]
  2. Bind an Ender Shard to a spot above that destination Teleporter by sneaking and right-clicking it.[4]
  3. Place a second Teleporter at your starting point.[4]
  4. Right-click the starting Teleporter with the linked shard to insert it. Once it shows portal particles, stand on it and sneak to teleport.[4]

For a two-way route, set up two Teleporters with shards pointing at each other. A redstone pulse teleports everything standing on the pad, not just you. You can also dye Teleporters to color-code your network.[4]

Tier 3: Enhanced Ender Shard

When you need to cross dimensions, upgrade a shard into an Enhanced Ender Shard. It can teleport between any dimensions, still works for same-dimension trips, and works with all teleporter features, including redstone. The upgrade keeps the linked position and custom name, so you can link before or after upgrading.[5]

Enhanced Ender ShardChanged by the pack

Smithing Transform

Recipe id: simpleteleporters:enhanced_ender_shard_smithing

The pack changed this recipe, so follow this one rather than the in-game guide.

The in-game guide only describes an Ender Shard plus an Echo Shard at a Smithing Table, but the in-pack recipe above is the one that counts. Like the basic shard, the Enhanced Ender Shard has its own shapeless recipe that takes one and returns one.[5][8]

Crafting Shapeless

Recipe id: simpleteleporters:clear_enhanced_shard

Side path: Hearth Crystal

The Hearth Crystal is a separate branch for personal home teleporting. It is made by smelting an Ender Shard.[6][8]

Hearth CrystalMod recipe

Smelting

Recipe id: simpleteleporters:hearth_crystal

Sneak and right-click a block to set your hearth. The location is saved to you, not the item, so any Hearth Crystal takes you home. Hold it in your main hand and right-click to start a 3-second countdown, and keep holding it until you arrive. It works across dimensions.[6]

Each crystal has 20 charges, and each teleport uses 1. When it runs dry, recharge it with this recipe.[6]

Hearth CrystalMod recipe

Crafting Shapeless

Recipe id: simpleteleporters:recharge_hearth_crystal

Combine a depleted Hearth Crystal with an Ender Pearl to restore all 20 charges.

Tip: The Hearth Crystal only stores one destination. For multiple destinations, use the shard and Teleporter network instead.[6]

Which FTB StoneBlock 4 quests use Simple Teleporters?

In this pack, Simple Teleporters appears in a single quest, in the exploration and combat chapter of the quest book.[7]

Because this is the only quest that involves the mod, there is no sequence of Simple Teleporters quests to follow. You complete it by providing both items.[7]

Which Simple Teleporters config options matter?

2 parts

Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide

Simple Teleporters keeps its options in a client file and a server file. This pack leaves every option in both at the mod default, so nothing here is a pack-specific change.[11][12]

Client options

These options only change what you see on your own screen. Both are off in this pack, so you get the full visuals.[11]

  • client.disableNameplate is set to false. That means the nameplate shown above a teleporter with a named crystal is displayed. Set it to true if you want a cleaner view.[11]
  • client.disableParticles is set to false. That means the particles above an active teleporter are shown. Set it to true if you want them gone.[11]

Server option

server.enableSableIntegration is set to true, which is the mod default. It allows Ender Shards to bind to Sable SubLevels, which are Create: Aeronautics airships. If Sable is not installed, this option has no effect.[12]

Tip: Every option here matches the mod default, so any default-based advice you find for them applies to this pack as well.[11][12]
