What is Simple Teleporters?
2 parts
Simple Teleporters adds easy-to-use teleportation to the pack. This pack ships version 2.2.0 of the mod, and it gives you two ways to get around: a linked network of Teleporter blocks, and a personal home teleport.[1][2]
Teleporter network
The Teleporter is a block for instant travel between linked locations. You bind an Ender Shard to a spot by sneaking and right-clicking a block, then insert the shard into a Teleporter. Stand on the active pad and sneak to travel. You can dye Teleporters in any of the 16 vanilla colors to keep your network organized, and a redstone pulse sends every entity on the pad to the destination, which is handy for automation.[3][4]
A basic Ender Shard only works within one dimension. To go across dimensions, upgrade it to an Enhanced Ender Shard at a Smithing Table using an Echo Shard, and the linked position is kept. Echo Shards are found in Ancient Cities in the Deep Dark.[3][5]
Personal teleport
The Hearth Crystal saves a home location to you, not to the item. Sneak and right-click a block with it in your main hand to set the spot. After that, any Hearth Crystal can take you home after a 3-second countdown, even from the Nether or End.[6]
A crystal has 20 charges and each teleport uses one. You restore all 20 by crafting the depleted crystal with an Ender Pearl.[6]
Unverified Where this mod fits in the pack's progression is unverified. The provided information shows no quests involving it and no place for it on the ATM Star path.
How do you get started with Simple Teleporters?
5 parts
Simple Teleporters gives you two ways to get around: a network of Teleporter blocks linked with shards, and a personal Hearth Crystal that takes you home. Here is the order I'd make things in this pack, and why.[2]
First, make an Ender Shard
The Ender Shard is the key component for linking everything together, and it's also used in the Teleporter and Hearth Crystal recipes. In this pack it's made by smelting, so it's the first thing to get.[3][7]
Unlinked shards stack up to 16, and it's worth keeping a few spare for setting up new destinations.[3]
Next, craft your Teleporters
The Teleporter is the block that does the actual teleporting. You need one at each end of a route, and the recipe uses a shard, so make a few shards first.[4][7]

Then, link your first route
- Place a Teleporter at your destination.[4]
- Hold a shard, then sneak and right-click the destination Teleporter. The shard binds to one block above it, so you land on top.[3][4]
- Place another Teleporter at your starting point and right-click it with the linked shard to insert it.[4]
- Stand on the active Teleporter (the one showing portal particles) and sneak to teleport.[4]
Add a Hearth Crystal for getting home
Once you have shards, the Hearth Crystal is a handy way to get back to base from anywhere. Unlike a shard, its destination is saved to you, not the item, so any Hearth Crystal takes you to your hearth location.[6][7]
- Hold the crystal in your main hand, then sneak and right-click a block near your base to set your hearth location.[6]
- To go home, hold a crystal in your main hand and right-click. A 3-second countdown starts, and switching items or dropping the crystal cancels it.[6]
A crystal has 20 charges, and each teleport uses 1. It works across dimensions, so you can use it from the Nether or the End. When it runs low, craft it with an Ender Pearl to restore all 20 charges.[6][7]
Go cross-dimensional later
A regular shard only teleports within one dimension. To link between dimensions, upgrade it to an Enhanced Ender Shard at a Smithing Table. The linked position is kept through the upgrade, so you can link first or upgrade first.[3][5][7]

How does Simple Teleporters work?
8 parts
Simple Teleporters is refreshingly simple under the hood. The sources describe two systems: a network of Teleporter blocks linked by shards, and a personal home teleport with the Hearth Crystal. Here is how each one works.[2]
The Teleporter network
A Teleporter is a block that instantly sends you to a linked location. The link comes from an Ender Shard that you insert into the block. Teleporters can also be placed underwater.[4]

Linking an Ender Shard
Hold the shard, sneak and right-click a block. The shard stores the exact coordinates and the dimension, and its tooltip shows them so you can tell your shards apart. An unlinked shard says "Unlinked" in red. To change a shard's destination, just sneak and right-click somewhere new.[3]
The shard picks its target position by what you click:[3]
- Clicking a non-solid block binds to that exact position.[3]
- Clicking a Teleporter binds to one block above it, so you land on top of the pad.[3]
- Clicking any other block binds to the clicked face of that block.[3]
Unlinked Ender Shards stack up to 16. Linked shards with different coordinates won't stack together.[3]
Setting up a one-way link
- Place a Teleporter at your destination.[4]
- Sneak and right-click the destination Teleporter with an Ender Shard to bind it to the spot above it.[4]
- Place a second Teleporter at your starting location.[4]
- Right-click the starting Teleporter with the linked shard to insert it.[4]
Once the shard is in, the pad shows portal particles. Stand on it and sneak to teleport to the destination. For travel in both directions, set up two Teleporters with shards pointing at each other.[4]
Crossing dimensions
A normal Ender Shard only teleports within the same dimension. To travel between dimensions, upgrade it to an Enhanced Ender Shard at a Smithing Table. The upgrade keeps the linked position and any custom name, so you can link the shard before or after upgrading.[3][5]
Smithing Transform
Recipe id: simpleteleporters:enhanced_ender_shard_smithing
The Enhanced shard has an enchantment glint so you can spot it. It also works for same-dimension teleports, and it supports the same teleporter features as a normal shard, including redstone and entity teleportation.[5]
Redstone and automation
A Teleporter can also be triggered by redstone. When it receives a pulse, it sends all entities standing on it to the linked destination, including players, mobs, animals and items. The guide suggests mob collection farms, timed transport with redstone clocks, and pressure plate or button stations.[4]
The pad only fires on the rising edge of a signal, when it goes from unpowered to powered. A signal that stays on won't teleport things over and over. A brief cooldown also prevents instant re-teleportation.[4]
Dyeing
Right-click a Teleporter with any dye to recolor its quartz base and platform. All 16 vanilla colors work, and the default is white. It's purely cosmetic, but handy for color-coding destinations.[4]
The Hearth Crystal
The Hearth Crystal works differently. Your home location is saved to you, not to the item. That means any Hearth Crystal takes you to your own hearth, and each player can have their own. You only get one destination, though.[6]
- Hold a Hearth Crystal in your main hand, then sneak and right-click a block to set your hearth location.[6]
- To go home, hold any Hearth Crystal in your main hand and right-click. A 3-second countdown starts.[6]
- Keep holding the crystal until the teleport completes.[6]
The crystal works across dimensions, so you can teleport home from the Nether or End. It has 20 charges, and each teleport uses 1. The durability bar shows what's left: green when full, yellow when low and red when nearly empty. When it's empty, it can't teleport until you recharge it.[6]
Restores all 20 charges.
Pack settings
The pack leaves both client options at their defaults. client.disableParticles is false, so active teleporters show their particles. client.disableNameplate is false, so the nameplate above a teleporter with a named crystal stays visible.[8][9]
On the server side, server.enableSableIntegration is true in the pack, which matches the mod default. It lets Ender Shards bind to Sable SubLevels, meaning Create: Aeronautics airships. It does nothing if Sable isn't installed.[10]
How do you progress through Simple Teleporters?
4 parts
Simple Teleporters has no tier system or tech tree. You progress by unlocking new pieces of the teleport toolkit, and each piece builds on the one before it. Here is the order I'd go in.[2]
Unverified No quests in this pack involve this mod, so there is no questline to follow. The path below comes from the in-pack recipes and the mod's in-game guide. This site does hold FTB Skies 2's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
Step 1: the Ender Shard
Everything starts with the Ender Shard, which is made by smelting an ender pearl.[7]
To bind a shard, hold it, then sneak and right-click a block. It remembers the exact coordinates and dimension. Unlinked shards stack up to 16, but linked shards with different coordinates won't stack. A regular shard only teleports you within the same dimension.[3]
Step 2: the Teleporter block
Next comes the Teleporter, the block that does the actual teleporting.[4][7]

- Place a Teleporter at your destination.[4]
- Bind an Ender Shard by sneaking and right-clicking the destination Teleporter. It links to the block above, so you land on top.[3][4]
- Place a second Teleporter at your starting point and right-click it with the linked shard to insert it.[4]
- Stand on the active Teleporter, the one with portal particles, and sneak to travel.[4]
For travel in both directions, set up two Teleporters with shards pointing at each other. You can also dye a Teleporter with any of the 16 vanilla dyes to color-code your network. A redstone pulse teleports every entity standing on it, which opens up automation.[4]
Step 3: the Enhanced Ender Shard
When you need to cross dimensions, upgrade a shard to an Enhanced Ender Shard at a Smithing Table. It works for both same-dimension and cross-dimension trips, and it keeps its linked position and custom name through the upgrade. You can link before or after upgrading.[3][5][7]

Side branch: the Hearth Crystal
The Hearth Crystal is a separate personal-teleport option. You make it by smelting an Ender Shard.[6][7]
Sneak and right-click a block with it in your main hand to set your home. The location is saved to you, not to the item. Right-click to start a 3-second countdown, and keep holding the crystal until it finishes. It works across dimensions and has 20 charges, with each teleport using 1.[6]
When it runs out, recharge it with an ender pearl to restore all 20 charges.[6][7]
Unverified The pack also has shapeless recipes that turn an Ender Shard into an Ender Shard and an Enhanced Ender Shard into an Enhanced Ender Shard (clear_shard and clear_enhanced_shard). They are presumably for resetting a link, but the sources don't say what they do.
Which Simple Teleporters config options matter?
2 parts
Simple Teleporters keeps its options in a client file and a server file. This pack leaves every option in both at the mod default, so nothing here is a pack-specific change.[9][10]
Client options
These options only change what you see on your own screen. Both are off in this pack, so you get the full visuals.[9]
- client.disableNameplate is set to false. That means the nameplate shown above a teleporter with a named crystal is displayed. Set it to true if you want a cleaner view.[9]
- client.disableParticles is set to false. That means the particles above an active teleporter are shown. Set it to true if you want them gone.[9]
Server option
server.enableSableIntegration is set to true, which is the mod default. It allows Ender Shards to bind to Sable SubLevels, which are Create: Aeronautics airships. If Sable is not installed, this option has no effect.[10]
