What is Reliquified Ars Nouveau?
Reliquified Ars Nouveau is a compatibility addon that bridges Relics and Ars Nouveau. It adds a variety of unique relics, and each one harnesses a different Ars Nouveau mechanic.[1]
It requires both Relics and Ars Nouveau to work.[1]
This pack includes version 0.6.1 of the mod, shipped as the 1.21.1 jar. It was first included in this pack version or earlier.[2]
How do you get started with Reliquified Ars Nouveau?
3 parts
Reliquified Ars Nouveau is an addon that bridges Relics and Ars Nouveau. It adds relics that each build on a different Ars Nouveau mechanic. It needs both of those mods, so you'll only see these relics in a pack that has them installed.[1]
What to know first
I can't point you to a crafting recipe or a quest for these relics, because the sources I have don't show one. How you get them in this pack is unverified, so I won't guess. Check the item search in-game for the recipe or loot source.[1]
Unverified How to obtain the relics from this mod in the pack (recipe, loot or quest) could not be confirmed.
Set up your spells before you equip an emblem
The emblems are the relics that need prep work. The Emblem of Assault, the Emblem of Defense and the Emblem of Devotion all do nothing useful until you inscribe a spell onto them with the Scribe's Table. That spell has to start with the Touch form and stay under a component limit, which is shown on the item's tooltip.[3]
- Emblem of Assault: automatically applies the linked spell to the target you attack, then goes on cooldown.[3]
- Emblem of Defense: automatically applies the linked spell to an enemy that attacks you, then goes on cooldown.[3]
- Emblem of Devotion: summons orbital spheres carrying the linked spell. They cast it on a target when they collide with it, up to a maximum number of spheres.[3]
Relics that work without a spell
Some relics run on your mana or on their own abilities. The Cloak of Concealment absorbs incoming damage by spending your mana, and goes on cooldown if your mana drops too low. The Flaming Bracer gives you complete immunity to magical fire damage. The Architect's Staff lets you hold right-click on one block and release on another to make a temporary bridge between them.[3]
Each relic also levels up through its own source. For example, the Architect's Staff gains XP for every bridge you create, and the Flaming Bracer gains XP each time its fire ability triggers. Use the relic you want to level and it will progress.[3]
How does Reliquified Ars Nouveau work?
4 parts
This mod works differently from most of the mods in the pack. It adds no machines, multiblocks, fluid handling or item automation. It is a compatibility addon between Relics and Ars Nouveau, and everything it adds is a relic: a piece of equipment with abilities that tie into Ars Nouveau mechanics like mana and spells. Both of those mods are required.[1]
How relic abilities work
Each relic has one or more named abilities, and each ability has its own levelling source. In other words, you earn experience for the relic by using that ability. A few examples: the Ring of the Spectral Walker earns experience for each second you use its ability, the Quantum Bubble for each projectile it traps, and the Ring of Last Will for each activation.[3]
The tooltips use placeholders for most numbers, such as cooldowns, chances and damage. The sources don't show the final values. The pack has no config files for this mod, so check the in-game tooltip for the exact numbers on your relic.[3]
Mana-powered relics
Several relics work directly with your Ars Nouveau mana pool.[3]
- Mana Ring: raises your maximum mana and your mana regeneration per second. It earns experience for every 20 mana you spend on a spell.[3]
- Ring of Thrift: each time you cast a spell, there is a chance that no mana is consumed.[3]
- Cloak of Concealment: absorbs all incoming damage and pays for it with mana, per point of damage absorbed. If your mana drops too low to absorb, the ability goes on cooldown.[3]
- Ring of the Spectral Walker: when activated, it turns nearby blocks into spectral ones and drains mana every second. Inside them you can move forward in the direction you are looking, ignoring gravity and fall damage. If the ability ends while you are somewhere unsafe, you are teleported to the last safe spot it found.[3]
- Archmage Glove: when you cast a spell, there is a chance it casts again, and this keeps repeating until the chance fails. Repeats cost no mana and are capped at 5 in total. It only works on spells whose trail colors are in the pink spectrum.[3]
Spell-linked emblems
The Emblem of Assault, Emblem of Defense and Emblem of Devotion all need a spell inscribed on them at the Scribe's Table before they do anything. The spell must start with the Touch form and is limited to a maximum number of components, which the tooltip shows. The Assault emblem applies the spell to a target you attack. The Defense emblem applies it to an enemy that attacks you. Both then go on cooldown. The Devotion emblem periodically summons orbital spheres, up to a maximum count, and each sphere casts the linked spell on a target when it collides with it.[3]
Other relics
- Architect's Staff: hold right-click on one block, then release while looking at another, to create a temporary bridge between them that lasts 1 minute and uses 1 durability. The staff regenerates durability over time, and the tooltip shows the maximum bridge length.[3]
- Ring of Last Will: if you take fatal damage, it saves you by rewinding time by 3 seconds, then goes on cooldown.[3]
- Illusionist's Mantle: when a living entity damages you, there is a chance it creates an illusion of you on the opposite side of the attacker. If you take fatal damage, you are protected from death and swapped with the farthest illusion.[3]
- Quantum Bubble: when an enemy projectile appears within a 2-block radius, an aura activates and traps hostile projectiles in bubbles. After the aura expires, the ability goes on cooldown.[3]
- Ballistarian Bracer: summons floating bows behind you. When you fire a ranged weapon, each bow has a chance to fire too. Each bow has 1 health and is resummoned after a delay if destroyed.[3]
- Horn of the Wild Hunter: summons 2 invulnerable wolves that fight alongside you and deal extra damage.[3]
- Flaming Bracer: gives you complete immunity to magical fire damage. Its other ability can chain bursts of magical fire when you hit a burning target in melee, up to a maximum number of triggers.[3]
- Spiked Cloak: when you take damage equal to a set percentage of your maximum health, it fires several spikes. Triggering it again within the time window doubles spike damage and resets the timer.[3]
Unverified The source text for this section was cut off, so some relics may be missing from the list above. Also, no recipes for this mod's items were found, so how you obtain these relics in the pack is unconfirmed.
How do you progress through Reliquified Ars Nouveau?
2 parts
The sources I have for this mod don't lay out a tier ladder, so there's no step-by-step progression to walk you through. What they do show is one way the pack hands out the mod's items: the Goat event.[4]
Where the items come from: the Goat event
The pack runs a script for an event that spawns a random Quantum Goat near you. The goat appears 140 ticks after the warning. If it is still alive 120 ticks after that, it drops a reward and despawns. If you kill it early, it drops a reward on death instead, and only once.[4]
The reward is picked from a weighted loot pool. Two of the pool's entries come from this mod, and both sit at weight 1, which the script labels as very rare: the Quantum Bubble and the Horn of the Wild Hunter.[4]
What the event gives you
- Quantum Bubble: it drops at level 0 with 0 experience, and the script gives it a stasis ability with starting stats of 29.16113 for cooldown, 6.84532 for duration and 3.02351 for levitation.[4]
- Horn of the Wild Hunter: it also drops at level 0 with 0 experience, and the script gives it a summoner ability with a starting damage stat of 3.33686.[4]
Those starting stats are what the pack's event script sets on the dropped items, so treat them as this pack's values for event drops.[4]
Unverified The sources I was given don't confirm any crafting recipe or quest for this mod's items, so I can't describe further tiers or upgrade steps.
