What is More Immersive Wires?
1 part
More Immersive Wires adds Immersive Engineering wire types, relays and connectors for several other mods. That means you can use Immersive Engineering wires to connect cables and parts from those mods.[1]
The pack includes version 1.1.9 of the mod.[2]
What it can connect
The mod's project page lists these supported mods:[1]
- Applied Energistics 2: connect parts of your AE system, with both normal and dense cables supported.[1]
- Refined Storage: connect parts of your RS system.[1]
- Integrated Dynamics: connect parts of your Logic network using the Logic Cable Coil.[1]
- CC: Tweaked: connect CC network cables, or use the CC Modem with a Connector directly on the computers.[1]
- FTB Industrial Contraptions: transfer Zaps with Immersive Wires.[1]
- IC2 Classic: transfer IC2 EU with Immersive Wires.[1]
Unverified Where this mod sits in the pack's quest book is not shown by the sources here: no quests in this pack involve it, and it is not on the ATM Star quest path. There is also no in-jar guidebook for it that the sources cover.
How do you get started with More Immersive Wires?
6 parts
More Immersive Wires adds Immersive Engineering-style wire types for other mods' cables. Instead of running a thick bundle of cable, you can link parts of your AE system, your RS network, or your ComputerCraft peripherals with IE wires.[1]
Every recipe for this mod's items in the pack has been changed from the mod default. Go by the recipe blocks below, not by what you remember from other packs.[3]
Pick your network
Each item works with one kind of network. Hover over an item and you'll see a line telling you the linking cable type, and holding Shift gives you more info. Check it before you plan a build.[4]
The mod supports Applied Energistics 2 (normal and dense cables), Refined Storage and CC: Tweaked, and the project page also lists a few other mods. You only need to make the items for the system you actually use.[1]
Make a relay and a connector
Start with the relay and the connector for your network. The relay recipes for RS Cable Relay, ME Glass Cable Relay and Networking Cable Relay don't need a cable of that network, so they are cheap to make first. The connector recipes do need a cable of that network, so make those once you have some.[3]

Make the coil
The coil is the wire itself. Each network has its own: RS Cable Coil, ME Glass Cable Coil, ME Dense Cable Coil and Networking Cable Coil. The coil recipes also take a cable of the matching network, so make the connectors and coil from the same batch of cables.[3]

How does More Immersive Wires work?
3 parts
More Immersive Wires adds Immersive Engineering wire types, relays and connectors for other mods' cables. You can connect your AE system, your RS storage network, or your ComputerCraft peripherals using IE wires.[1]
In this pack, the recipes for this mod cover ME Glass cable, ME Dense cable, Refined Storage cable and Networking cable (CC: Tweaked). Each of these has a coil, a connector and a relay. The Networking family also has a combined modem item.[3]
What each family connects
- Glass ME cable: ME Glass Cable Coil, ME Glass Cable Connector and ME Glass Cable Relay link parts of your Applied Energistics 2 system.[1][3]
- Dense ME cable: ME Dense Cable Coil, ME Dense Cable Connector and ME Dense Cable Relay do the same for dense cables. The mod page says both normal and dense cables are supported.[1][3]
- Refined Storage: RS Cable Coil, RS Cable Connector and RS Cable Relay link parts of your RS network.[1][3]
- Networking cable (CC: Tweaked): Networking Cable Coil, Networking Cable Connector and Networking Cable Relay link CC network cables. CC Modem with Connector is the CC Modem with Connector, which the mod page says you can use directly on computers.[1][3]
Hold SHIFT on the items for more info. The tooltips also show a line with the linking cable type, so you can check which network a piece belongs to.[4]
Wire length limits
Each family has its own maximum wire length setting: wires.ae.aeMaxLen for glass ME, wires.ae_dense.ae_denseMaxLen for dense ME, wires.rs.rsMaxLen for Refined Storage and wires.cc.ccMaxLen for Networking cable. In this pack the glass ME, dense ME, Refined Storage and Networking cable limits are each 16, which matches the mod default of 16. Each setting accepts a range of 4 to 256.[5]
The common config, importantInfo, only holds a notice flag, which is true in this pack. It does not contain the adjustable values.[6]
Crafting the pieces
The pack has changed every recipe for this mod, so don't rely on recipes you remember from the mod's defaults. These are the exact in-pack recipes.[3]

How do you progress through More Immersive Wires?
5 parts
More Immersive Wires has no tiers in the usual sense. It lets you run wire-style connections for other mods' cable networks, and each network gets its own set of items. In this pack, progression comes down to which storage or computer network you're building, not to a ladder of upgrades.[3]
Unverified No quests in this pack involve this mod, and it isn't on the main quest path, so nothing unlocks it. When you get access depends on when you reach the cables of the network you want to wire up.
How each network is split up
Each supported network has a connector, a relay and a coil. The coil is the wire item you use to link them. Where the network has more than one cable type, you get a separate set for each.[3]
Refined Storage
Refined Storage has one set: RS Cable Connector, RS Cable Relay and RS Cable Coil. This is the simplest set in the mod.[3]

How does More Immersive Wires work with other mods?
4 parts
More Immersive Wires adds Immersive Engineering style wires, relays and connectors for cables that belong to other mods. That lets you run those networks over long distances with IE wires instead of laying cable block by block.[1]
In this pack, the recipes that tie the mod to other mods cover Applied Energistics 2, Refined Storage and CC: Tweaked. The recipes below show how each connector and relay is crafted here.[1][3]
Applied Energistics 2
The ME Dense Cable Connector and the ME Dense Cable Relay link your ME network over IE wires. Both recipes use Applied Energistics 2 items, and the connector also needs one of the covered dense cables.[1][3]

Other supported mods
The mod's project page also lists Integrated Dynamics (Logic Cable Coil), FTB Industrial Contraptions (Zaps) and IC2 Classic (EU) as supported mods. The recipes in this pack that link the mod to other mods only cover the ones above.[1][3]
Which More Immersive Wires config options matter?
2 parts
Good news: there isn't much to fiddle with here. The options most players care about are the four wire length limits, one for each supported cable type, and the pack leaves every one of them at the mod default.[5]
Wire length limits
Each of these lives in the server config and accepts any value from 4 to 256. In this pack all four are set to 16, which is also the mod default, so the pack has not changed any of them.[5]
- wires.ae.aeMaxLen is the max length for the ME Glass Cable wire. It is 16 in this pack (mod default 16).[5]
- wires.ae_dense.ae_denseMaxLen is the max length for the ME Dense Cable wire. It is 16 in this pack (mod default 16).[5]
- wires.rs.rsMaxLen is the max length for the RS Cable wire. It is 16 in this pack (mod default 16).[5]
- wires.cc.ccMaxLen is the max length for the Networking Cable wire. It is 16 in this pack (mod default 16).[5]
Unverified The sources don't say which unit the length limit is measured in, so check in-game before you plan a long wire run.
Where to change these
The common config, importantInfo, only holds a notice and is set to true in this pack. It tells you that the real settings were moved to the server config file. That file is per world, so you change it in the world's own serverconfig folder inside your saves folder, and the change only applies to that world.[6]
What changed in More Immersive Wires between versions?
3 parts
FTB StoneBlock 4 1.21.0 ships More Immersive Wires 1.1.9, and the mod has been in the pack since 1.0.0 or earlier. Here are the most recent mod releases, newest first.[2]
1.1.9 (the version in this pack)
