What is Schematic Energistics?

1 part

Same as in the FTB StoneBlock 4 1.21.0 guide

Schematic Energistics connects Create's Schematicannon to your AE2 network. Instead of stocking the cannon by hand, you let your AE2 storage and autocrafting feed it. This pack includes version 1.5.4 of the mod.[1][2]

It's for you if you already build with Create schematics and run an AE2 network, and you're tired of gathering every block for a big build yourself.[1][3]

What it adds

The core block is the Cannon Interface. Place it next to a Schematicannon and connect it to your AE2 network. The cannon can then pull the items it needs from network storage.[1][3]

  • It automatically extracts the required items from AE2 storage.[1]
  • It can autocraft schematic items when they're needed.[1]
  • It exports gunpowder from the network to the cannon, so you don't have to refill it yourself.[1][3]
  • Right-click the interface to open its GUI. There you can control the crafting and export of items and gunpowder, and see the status of the connected cannon.[3]

If you run several cannons, the Cannon Interface Terminal helps. Connect it to your AE2 network and it lists every connected Cannon Interface with its status. Click one to open its GUI.[4]

Tip: The cannon always uses items from other inventories, like chests and barrels, before it asks the AE2 network. Items you've left in nearby containers get used first.[1][3]
Watch out: A Schematicannon can only be connected to one Cannon Interface at a time. Bulk Crafting also tries to craft the needed items before the cannon starts building. If that crafting is interrupted, for example by unloading the chunk, closing the game or stopping the job, you may end up with more items than the schematic needs, because the system tries to craft the missing items again.[1][3]

Unverified The sources don't say where this mod fits in the pack's progression, so there is no confirmed placement or recommended stage for it.

How do you get started with Schematic Energistics?

5 parts

Same as in the FTB StoneBlock 4 1.21.0 guide

This mod does one job: it links Create's Schematic Cannon to your AE2 network. The cannon can pull the items a schematic needs straight from your storage, autocraft what's missing, and get its gunpowder refilled automatically. Everything starts with one block, the Cannon Interface.[1][3]

Craft the Cannon Interface

This is the first thing to make, because it's what lets the cannon talk to AE2 at all. Here's the in-pack recipe:[3][5]

Hook it up

  1. Place the Cannon Interface next to your Schematic Cannon.[3]
  2. Connect the Cannon Interface to your AE2 network. The cannon can then access the network's items.[3]
  3. Right click the interface to open its GUI. From there you can control the crafting and export of items and gunpowder, and see the status of the connected cannon.[3]

Only one Cannon Interface can be connected to a given Schematic Cannon, so don't bother stacking several on the same cannon.[1][3]

Watch out: The cannon always uses items from other inventories, such as chests and barrels, before it asks the AE2 network. If it seems to ignore your network, check for containers sitting next to it.[1][3]

Learn the GUI toggles

The GUI has buttons to start or resume, pause and stop the cannon. It also has separate toggles for auto-crafting items, for letting the cannon request gunpowder, and for auto-crafting gunpowder. Allowing gunpowder requests does not turn on gunpowder crafting. You have to enable that one separately.[6]

There is also a bulk crafting option. It crafts items in advance, uses more CPU and may produce excess items. With it off, items are crafted only as needed.[6]

Tip: If a bulk crafting job gets interrupted (an unloaded chunk, closing the game or stopping the job), the system tries to craft the missing items again. You may end up with more items than the schematic needs.[3]

Optional: the Cannon Interface Terminal

Once you have several cannons, the Cannon Interface Terminal saves you walking around. Connect it to your AE2 network and right click it to see every connected Cannon Interface and its status. Click one to open its GUI.[4]

The mod also has a Cannon Interface Panel, and you can switch between it and the block with these two shapeless recipes:[3][5]

How does Schematic Energistics work?

6 parts

Same as in the FTB StoneBlock 4 1.21.0 guide

Schematic Energistics is a small mod with one job: it links Create's Schematic Cannon to your AE2 network. The Cannon Interface is the block that does it. It lets the cannon pull the items a schematic needs from your ME storage, and it can autocraft missing items too.[1][3]

Setting up a Cannon Interface

  1. Place the Cannon Interface next to your Schematic Cannon.[1][3]
  2. Connect the Cannon Interface to your AE2 network.[1][3]
  3. Right click the interface to open its GUI. From there you can control crafting and export of items and gunpowder, and see the status of the connected cannon.[3]
Watch out: Only one Cannon Interface can be connected to a Schematic Cannon at a time.[1][3]

Where the cannon gets its items

The cannon always prioritizes other inventories first, such as chests and barrels, and only then requests items from the AE2 network.[1][3]

Gunpowder is handled separately. If the interface is connected to the network, it exports gunpowder from AE2 to the cannon.[3]

Controlling the cannon from the GUI

The interface GUI has buttons to start or resume the cannon, pause it, and stop it. Beyond that, a set of toggles decides how much the interface is allowed to craft for you.[6]

  • Per-item auto-crafting: when enabled, the cannon tries to auto-craft an item if the system doesn't have enough. When disabled, the cannon still requests the item but won't try to craft it if your inventory falls short.[6]
  • Gunpowder requests: you can allow or prohibit the cannon from requesting gunpowder. Prohibiting it also stops auto-crafting of gunpowder.[6]
  • Gunpowder auto-crafting: this is a separate toggle. Allowing gunpowder requests doesn't turn it on, so enable it yourself if you want the cannon to craft gunpowder when the system runs short.[6]
  • Bulk crafting: when enabled, items are crafted in advance. When disabled, items are crafted only as needed.[6]

About bulk crafting

With bulk crafting on, the interface tries to craft the needed items before the cannon begins building. That uses more CPU and may produce excess items.[3][6]

Watch out: If crafting is interrupted during that pre-build stage, for example by unloading the chunk, closing the game or stopping the crafting job, the system tries to craft the missing items again. You may end up with more items than the schematic needs.[3]

Managing several cannons with the terminal

If you run more than one cannon, the Cannon Interface Terminal saves you from walking to each one. Connect it to your AE2 network and right click it to see every connected Cannon Interface and its status. Click an entry to open that interface's GUI.[4]
