What is Measurements?

Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.12 guide

This pack ships Measurements version 3.0.0, built for NeoForge 1.21 (the jar is Measurements-neoforge-1.21-3.0.0.jar). It has been in the pack since version 0.32 or earlier, so it isn't a recent addition.[1]

Unverified I couldn't confirm what Measurements adds in-game from the sources I have: no description, guidebook, items, recipes or configs for it. Because of that, I can't tell you who it's for or where it fits in the pack's progression. I also have nothing confirming a role in the ATM Star path or any related quests, so I'm not claiming one.

Tip: Until this page gets more detail, treat the version above (3.0.0) as the one that matters. If you read about Measurements elsewhere, check that the info matches this version before assuming it applies to the pack.[1]

How do you get started with Measurements?

1 part

Measurements adds one thing you need to know about in this pack: the Tape Measure. There is only one item to make, so your first step is simple.[2][3]

Step one: craft the Tape Measure

The pack changes the Tape Measure recipe, so go by the recipe below and not by what you remember from the mod elsewhere. It is a shaped crafting recipe made from vanilla materials, so you can make it straight away without any machines or other mods.[2]

This is the pack's own version of the recipe (changed by the pack).

That is the whole starting path for Measurements: craft the tape measure and keep it in your inventory for when you need it.[2][3]

Unverified How the Tape Measure is used in play is not shown in the sources here. The pack has no quests for this mod, no config files for it, and no in-jar guidebook was found, so check the mod in game to see how it behaves.

How does Measurements work?

Measurements is a small mod, and the sources for this pack only confirm one item: the Tape Measure. Nothing in them describes machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or automation for this mod, so there is nothing more to cover under core mechanics.[2][3]

The one thing the pack does confirm is the crafting recipe. It is a shaped crafting recipe, and the pack has changed it from the mod's own version, so use the recipe below rather than any recipe you remember from outside this pack.[2]

How do you progress through Measurements?

Measurements doesn't have a tier ladder in this pack. The recipe sources show one thing you can craft from it: the Tape Measure from Measurements. So there's no step-by-step progression to follow, just one craft to know about.[2]

The pack has changed the Tape Measure recipe, so what you craft here is the pack's version and not necessarily the mod's own default. Use the recipe below as the truth for this pack.[2]

Which Measurements config options matter?

2 parts

Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide

Measurements only has client-side options, all in config/measurements-client.toml. They control how the measuring lines and their text look on your screen. In this pack, every one of them is set to the mod default, so nothing has been changed from what the mod ships with.[4]

Line options

  • client.lineColor is set to YELLOW, which is the mod default. You can switch it to RANDOM or any of the standard dye colors, such as WHITE, LIME, CYAN or RED.[4]
  • client.lineWidth is 2, the mod default. It sets how thick the line is, and accepts values from 1.0 to 16.0.[4]
  • client.lineWidthMax is also 2, the mod default. It sets the thickness when the line is further away, and accepts values from 1 to 16.[4]

Text options

  • client.textColor is YELLOW, the mod default. It accepts the same colors as the line, plus RANDOM and XYZRGB.[4]
  • client.textSize is 0.02, the mod default. It accepts values from 0.01 to 0.1.[4]
Tip: If the measurement text is hard to read, raise textSize a little or change textColor and lineColor to something that stands out against your base. These are client settings, so they only change what you see.[4]
