Growth Accelerator Tiers is a mod in FTB Skies 2: Aero 1.13.0, where it is version 2.0.0. A tiny mod that adds new tiers to the AE2 Growth Accelerator (Summary from the mod's Modrinth page.)

What is Growth Accelerator Tiers?

Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 1.0.2 guide

Growth Accelerator Tiers is part of this pack. The pack ships version 1.0.1 of the mod, built for NeoForge on Minecraft 1.21.1. It has been in the pack since the 1.0 release or earlier, so it's a long-standing part of the mod list rather than a recent addition.[1]

Unverified The sources I have don't describe what the mod's items or blocks do, how they are crafted in this pack, or whether the pack changed any recipes or configs. I'm not going to guess at mechanics. Check in-game with the recipe viewer before you plan a build around it. This site does hold FTB Skies 2: Aero's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

Unverified No quests and no ATM Star path steps were found for this mod, and no in-jar guidebook was found either. Where it fits in the pack's progression is unconfirmed, so treat it as an optional extra rather than a required step.

How do you get started with Growth Accelerator Tiers?

4 parts

Growth Accelerator Tiers adds upgraded versions of the AE2 Growth Accelerator, plus a helper item for aiming one of them. Each has its own recipe in the pack. Here is the order I'd make them in, starting with the one that needs no ME network.[2][3]

First: the Cranked Growth Accelerator

Start with the Cranked Growth Accelerator. It doesn't connect to a network and only works when powered by the Wooden Crank. The pack has changed this recipe from the mod's own.[2][3]

This recipe is changed by the pack.

In this pack it ticks adjacent blocks at a multiplier of 8 (cranked_growth_accelerator.cranked_speed_multiplier) and uses a power consumption of 8 (cranked_growth_accelerator.cranked_idle_power_consumption). The config notes that a speed multiplier of 1.0 would imitate the normal AE2 Growth Accelerator.[4]

Next: the Directional Modifier

Then grab the Directional Modifier. This one is the mod's own recipe, not changed by the pack. You right click a Directional Growth Accelerator with it to change the direction, so it's worth having before the accelerator it controls.[2][3]

Then: the Directional Growth Accelerator

The Directional Growth Accelerator forces buds to grow in a specific direction, up by default. The pack has changed its recipe too.[2][3]

Its speed multiplier is 2 (directional_growth_accelerator.directional_speed_multiplier) and its power consumption is 12 (directional_growth_accelerator.directional_idle_power_consumption).[4]

Finally: the Boosted Growth Accelerator

Finish with the Boosted Growth Accelerator, which its tooltip describes as faster than your average Growth Accelerator. This recipe is also changed by the pack.[2][3]

The pack sets its speed multiplier to 8 (boosted_growth_accelerator.boosted_speed_multiplier) and its power consumption to 24 (boosted_growth_accelerator.boosted_idle_power_consumption). Both match the mod's defaults, so keep an eye on your energy supply before placing several.[4]

Watch out: Conflicts are switched on in this pack (general.enable_conflicts is true). If it were set to false, the Boosted and Directional accelerators would not conflict with other accelerators of the same type. A conflicted block shows the tooltip "Accelerator conflict".[3][4]

How does Growth Accelerator Tiers work?

5 parts

Growth Accelerator Tiers adds upgraded versions of the AE2 Growth Accelerator: the Boosted Growth Accelerator, the Cranked Growth Accelerator and the Directional Growth Accelerator. Each one ticks the blocks next to it with a speed multiplier, and each has its own power settings in the common config.[3][4]

The accelerators

Changing the direction

To change which way the Directional Growth Accelerator pushes buds, right click it with a Directional Modifier. The modifier is a separate item, so craft one and keep it handy.[3]

This is the mod's own recipe, the pack has not changed it.

Speed and power settings

Every accelerator has a speed multiplier, an idle power consumption and an internal energy multiplier in the common config. The speed multiplier is how strongly the accelerator ticks the blocks next to it. The idle power consumption is the power it uses while running. The internal energy multiplier scales its internal power inventory.[4]

The pack leaves all of these at the mod's defaults. The config comments give reference points for the normal AE2 Growth Accelerator: a speed multiplier of 1.0, an idle power consumption of 8 and an internal energy multiplier of 10 would imitate it.[4]

Accelerator conflicts

The option general.enable_conflicts is set to true in this pack. The config says that setting it to false stops the Boosted and Directional accelerators from conflicting with other accelerators of the same type. The mod also has an "Accelerator conflict" tooltip.[3][4]

Crafting the accelerators

The pack has changed the recipes of the Boosted, Cranked and Directional accelerators. These are the pack's versions, not the mod's defaults.[2]

How do you progress through Growth Accelerator Tiers?

4 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 1.0.2 guide

Growth Accelerator Tiers adds new crafted versions of the AE2 Growth Accelerator: the Cranked Growth Accelerator, the Boosted Growth Accelerator and the Directional Growth Accelerator. There is also a helper item, the Directional Modifier. Each one is shown below with its in-pack recipe.[5]

Cranked Growth Accelerator

This recipe is the only one of the tiers that does not use an existing AE2 Growth Accelerator as an ingredient. It starts from an AE2 Wooden Crank instead, and it needs no netherite and no AE2 cores.[5]

Boosted Growth Accelerator

The Boosted tier is crafted from a standard AE2 Growth Accelerator, so you need to have that built first. Its recipe also asks for netherite, which means you will be well into the game before you can make it.[5]

Directional Growth Accelerator

The Directional tier also builds on a standard AE2 Growth Accelerator and needs netherite, but it uses a different AE2 core from the Boosted one.[5]

The Directional Modifier has its own separate recipe, and it does not need netherite or a Growth Accelerator.[5]

Unverified The sources here do not show any quest chapter that guides you through these accelerators, so the order the pack's quest book wants you to build them in is not confirmed. They also do not show the growth speed of each tier or what the Directional Modifier does once crafted.

How does Growth Accelerator Tiers work with other mods?

3 parts

Growth Accelerator Tiers connects to AE2 in this pack. Every recipe for the mod in the pack's recipe data uses at least one AE2 item, so you need AE2 materials to craft any of them.[2]

Boosted and Directional accelerators

Both of these start from AE2's Growth Accelerator and use an Acceleration Card. Each one adds a different AE2 core: the Boosted Growth Accelerator uses the Annihilation Core, and the Directional Growth Accelerator uses the Formation Core. The pack has changed both recipes, so don't assume they match the mod's defaults.[2]

Which Growth Accelerator Tiers config options matter?

4 parts

Every option in the Growth Accelerator Tiers config file is set to the mod default in this pack. Nothing was changed, so any numbers you see here are the values the mod ships with.[4]

Each accelerator has a speed multiplier (how strongly it ticks the adjacent blocks), an idle power consumption (the power it uses while running) and an internal energy multiplier (the size of its internal power inventory). According to the config comments, a speed multiplier of 1.0, an idle power consumption of 8 and an internal energy multiplier of 10 would imitate the normal AE2 Growth Accelerator.[4]

Directional Growth Accelerator

Cranked Growth Accelerator

Boosted Growth Accelerator

The Cranked and Boosted accelerators both use a speed multiplier of 8, but the Boosted one uses 24 for idle power consumption against 8 for the Cranked one, and has an internal energy multiplier of 60 against 20. So if you are tuning your power budget, those two options are where the difference between them shows up.[4]

Conflicts between accelerators

general.enable_conflicts is true in this pack. If it were set to false, the Boosted and Directional accelerators would not conflict with other accelerators of the same type.[4]
