What is FTB Teams?
2 parts
FTB Teams is what lets you and your friends play together as a team. In this pack it matters most at the start, because it is how you end up on the same starting ship/island instead of each getting your own.[1]
The pack ships FTB Teams 2101.1.11 for NeoForge, and it has been included since version 1.0.3 or earlier.[2]
Where it sits in the quest book
The quest book covers FTB Teams in its very first chapter, "Welcome" (chapter 1 of 31), which has 4 quests. The one that explains the mod is "Creating and Joining a team" quest. The other quests in that chapter are "Welcome to FTB Skies 2: Aero!" quest, "Found A Bug?" quest and an untitled quest that lists handy commands such as /sethome, /back and /spawn.[1]
Teaming up with friends
The quest book walks you through it. A team is created for you automatically the first time you join a world, so you need to leave that one before joining your friends.[1]
How do you get started with FTB Teams?
3 parts
Good news: getting started with FTB Teams in this pack doesn't involve crafting anything. The first steps are a few chat commands, and the pack's quest book walks you through them in the "Creating and Joining a team" quest quest in the Welcome chapter, which is chapter 1 of 31.[1]
Teaming up with friends
If you want to share the same starting ship/island as your friends, FTB Teams is how you do it. When you join a world for the first time, a team is created for you automatically. That means you have to leave it before you can join someone else's party.[1]
- Type /ftbteams party leave in chat, then type it once more to confirm.[1]
- Once that is done, the party leader invites each new player with /ftbteams party invite <username>.[1]
- A message shows up in chat asking the invited player to accept or decline.[1]
The mod describes a Party team as a way to invite members and progress together. There is also an Open Teams GUI key binding under the FTB Teams category in your controls, if you'd rather manage things from a screen.[3]
Handy commands from the quest book
An untitled quest in the same chapter, a quest in "Welcome", lists the commands worth knowing from the start:[1]
- /sethome (name) sets a home, and /home (name) teleports you back to it.[1]
- /ftbteambases home teleports you back to your starting island.[1]
- /back returns you to a previous point, either from a death or from where you last teleported from.[1]
- /spawn teleports you back to the lobby.[1]
- /spark tps checks the server's TPS, which is useful to see if your world is lagging.[1]
Party limits
The mod has server settings that can cap party size and limit party lives. With limited lives, a member who dies when no lives remain is kicked from the party, and a party with no lives left cannot invite new members. The values this pack uses for these settings are not in the sources I have, so check with your server owner.[3]
Unverified No crafting recipes for FTB Teams items were found in the pack's sources, so there are no recipe steps for this mod.
How does FTB Teams work?
2 parts
Same as in the All the Mons 1.3.0 guide
The sources for FTB Teams describe a team system, so the core mechanics here are about how parties work. You open the team screen with the "Open Teams GUI" key, which you'll find under the FTB Teams category in your controls.[4]
Party teams
A Party team lets you invite members and progress together. The create-party screen describes it that way, so that's the one to pick if you're playing with friends.[4]
Server settings that shape a party
The server settings for maximum party size and limited lives change how parties behave. Here is what each one does.[4]
- Maximum party size: if it is above 0, a party can't have more players than that number. If it is 0, there is no limit.[4]
- If the size limit is changed while larger teams already exist, those parties keep their current size, but they can't invite new members.[4]
- Limited lives: if the setting is above 0, party lives apply. Each time a member dies, the party loses a life.[4]
- Once the party has no lives left, a member who dies is kicked from the party. A party with no lives remaining also can't invite new members.[4]
- If the party owner dies while limited lives are on, a random member becomes the new owner, and officers get priority.[4]
Unverified The values this pack uses for maximum party size and limited lives are set in the server config for FTB Teams, and the sources here do not show them. Check them on your own server.
How do you progress through FTB Teams?
2 parts
There is no tier ladder to climb with FTB Teams. In this pack the quest book places it right at the start, in the "Welcome" chapter, which is chapter 1 of 31 and has 4 quests. The one that covers teams is "Creating and Joining a team" quest.[1]
Setting up a shared team
If you want to share a starting ship/island with friends, FTB Teams makes it easy. A team is created for you automatically the first time you join a world, so you have to leave that one before you can join a friend's.[1]
- Type /ftbteams party leave in chat, then type it once more to confirm.[1]
- The party leader invites each new player with /ftbteams party invite <username>.[1]
- A message shows up in chat prompting the invited player to accept or decline.[1]
Useful commands from the same chapter
Another quest in the Welcome chapter, a quest in "Welcome", has no title of its own. It lists a handful of commands worth knowing once you are on your island.[1]
- /sethome (name) sets a home, and /home (name) teleports you back to it.[1]
- /ftbteambases home teleports you back to your starting island.[1]
- /back returns you to a previous point, either from a death or from where you teleported from last.[1]
- /spawn teleports you back to the lobby.[1]
- /spark tps checks the server's TPS, which is useful for seeing if your world is lagging.[1]
The rest of the Welcome chapter is "Welcome to FTB Skies 2: Aero!" quest, the intro quest, and "Found A Bug?" quest, which tells you to report anything that doesn't work like it should on Discord or GitHub.[1]
Which FTB Skies 2: Aero quests use FTB Teams?
2 parts
FTB Teams shows up in one place in the quest book: the "Welcome" chapter, which is chapter 1 of 31 and holds 4 quests. Every quest in it uses a simple checkmark task, so there's nothing to collect or craft.[1]
The team quest
"Creating and Joining a team" quest is the one that is really about teams. It's for when you're playing with friends and want to share the same starting ship/island. You get a team automatically when you join a world for the first time, so you have to leave that one first.[1]
- Type /ftbteams party leave in chat, then type it once more to confirm.[1]
- The party leader invites each new player with /ftbteams party invite <username>.[1]
- The invited player gets a chat message asking them to accept or decline.[1]
The other Welcome quests
The rest of the chapter isn't about teams, but you'll see it as you go. "Welcome to FTB Skies 2: Aero!" quest is the welcome quest and has only a checkmark task. "Found A Bug?" quest tells you where to report bugs, on Discord or as a bug report on GitHub.[1]
a quest in "Welcome" has no title in the book. It's a list of handy commands: /sethome (name) and /home (name), /ftbteambases home to return to your starting island, /back, /spawn to return to the lobby, and /spark tps to check the server's TPS.[1]

Items and blocks
We can't match this mod to the pack's item list: it registers as ftbteams, and the pack's recipe dump has nothing under that name. That means we found nothing, not that the mod adds nothing. Search the item browser
