What is CommonCapabilities?

Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.12 guide

CommonCapabilities is part of the pack as version 2.9.7, shipped as the NeoForge 1.21.1 build. It has been in the pack since version 0.32 or earlier, so it's a long-standing part of the mod list rather than a recent addition.[1]

Unverified The available data doesn't describe what CommonCapabilities does, and there's no guidebook or platform description to confirm it. I can't tell you who it's for or what it adds to your gameplay. As far as the data shows, no quests in this pack involve the mod, and it isn't on the ATM Star path, so you don't need to plan your progression around it.

How do you get started with CommonCapabilities?

Same as in the All the Mods 10 0.50 guide

I don't have a confirmed set of first steps for CommonCapabilities in this pack, so I'm keeping this section short instead of guessing.[2]

The one thing the mod's own language file confirms is that it has a configuration screen, whose title is built from the pattern "%s configuration".[2]

Unverified No in-pack recipes, quests or config options for CommonCapabilities were available to me, so I can't say which items to make first or in what order.

How does CommonCapabilities work?

Same as in the All the Mods 10 0.50 guide

The only thing the available material for CommonCapabilities shows is its language file, and that contains a single string: the title of a configuration screen, written as "%s configuration". That is not enough to explain how the mod handles machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or items.[2]

Unverified How CommonCapabilities handles power, fluid and item transfer, and whether it adds any machines, multiblocks or automation features of its own, could not be confirmed from the sources available for this pack.

Which CommonCapabilities config options matter?

3 parts

Everything for CommonCapabilities lives in one file, and the pack's values for it are listed below. The first option here is core.general.analytics, and the other keys sit in the same file.[3]

Machine filter equality

The option most likely to matter in play is machine.general.ignoreDataComponentsForEqualityFilters. It lists the data component types that are filtered away when the mod checks equality. The pack sets it to integrateddynamics:energy, so the energy data component from IntegratedDynamics is ignored in those equality checks.[3]

Crash and logging options

Watch out: The config comment for the debug logging option says to only enable it if you know what you are doing, because it will cause lag.[3]

Items and blocks

We can't match this mod to the pack's item list: it registers as commoncapabilities, and the pack's recipe dump has nothing under that name. That means we found nothing, not that the mod adds nothing. Search the item browser
