What is More Red?
More Red is in the pack at version 6.0.0.3, built for Minecraft 1.21.1. It has been part of the pack since version 1.0.1 or earlier, so it isn't a recent addition.[1]
I can't show you a dedicated More Red quest in the parts of the quest book I have. The nearest chapter I can check is "Create", which sits in the "Tech Mods" group as chapter 29 of 41. It has 95 quests, and the ones I can see cover Create machines and none of them name More Red. The other 56 quests in that chapter are in the quest book, so check there if you want to be sure.[2]
Unverified What More Red adds in this pack (its blocks, items and mechanics) could not be confirmed from the available sources, so it is not described here.
How do you get started with More Red?
6 parts
Same as in the FTB StoneBlock 4 1.21.0 guide
More Red adds wires, cables and logic parts for redstone builds. Here is the order I'd make things in. Each recipe block below shows the exact in-pack recipe, so I won't list ingredients in the text.[3]
Start with Stone Plates
Begin with the Stone Plate. The crafting recipe makes 12 plates per craft. The stonecutter also has two options: one gives 4 plates and the other gives 8.[3]

Then Red Alloy Wire
Next is Red Alloy Wire. One craft gives you 12 wires. The wire also appears in the network cable recipes and in the redwire spool recipe, so you will keep coming back to it.[3]

Your first logic parts
Now you can make basic logic parts. The Diode and the NOT Gate are good ones to try first. The OR Gate, AND Gate, NOR Gate, NAND Gate and Latch all have their own crafting recipes too.[3]

Network cables and bundled cable
When you want to carry more than one signal, move on to cables. Each dyed network cable recipe makes 8 cables per craft, for example the Blue Network Cable. The Bundled Network Cable recipe then turns network cables into 3 bundled cables.[3]

Posts and spools
For longer runs, the Redwire Post and the Redwire Spool both have crafting recipes. The pack sets [[config:config/morered-server.toml#General Settings.max_wire_plinth_connection_range]] to 32, which is the same as the mod default.[3][4]

Soldering
The mod also has a Soldering Table block and a Soldering recipe category. Several parts have a second recipe whose id ends in "from soldering", such as the Diode and the Latch. The pack has 17 soldering recipes in total, but the plain crafting recipes above are enough to get you started.[3][5]
How does More Red work?
4 parts
More Red is a redstone mod, and the sources for this pack only cover block names, recipes and one config option. They don't explain how signals behave in detail, so this section sticks to what the pack's data confirms.[6][7][8]
Two ways to make logic parts
Simple logic parts like the Diode, AND Gate and Two Input AND Gate each have two recipes in this pack: a normal crafting recipe and a soldering recipe. The mod has a Soldering Table block and a Soldering recipe category, and the soldering recipes use their own recipe type.[6][8]

The Bitwise gates, such as the Bitwise AND Gate, Bitwise Diode and Bitwise NOT Gate, are listed here as soldering recipes. Each one needs a bundled network cable as an ingredient.[8]

The mod also has Bitwise OR, XOR and XNOR gates, a Latch, a NOT gate, a NOR gate and a Multiplexer. Of these, the recipes shown in the sources here are the Multiplexer and the Pulse Gate.[6][8]

Network cables and bundled cables
Each dye colour of network cable is its own block. The colour recipes follow the same pattern: a matching dye, wool and a red alloy wire make 8 cables. Here is the blue one as an example.[6][8]
Crafting Shaped

Recipe id: morered:blue_network_cable
To carry several signals in one line, you turn ordinary network cables into Bundled Network Cable. One crafting recipe makes 3 bundled cables from the normal network cables.[8]

Bundled cables also feed several other parts: the Bundled Cable Post, the Bundled Cable Relay Plate and the Bundled Cable Spool all use one in their recipes.[8]

Stone plates
The Stone Plate is made by stonecutting. A smooth stone slab gives 4 plates, and the other stonecutting recipe, which takes smooth stone, gives 8.[8]

Config
The pack sets [[config:config/morered-server.toml#General Settings.max_wire_plinth_connection_range]] to 32, the same as the mod default. It is the maximum plinth connection range, and the file accepts values from 0.0 up to a very large number.[7]
How do you progress through More Red?
6 parts
The sources I have here do not show a More Red quest chapter, so this path is built from the pack's recipes instead. You start with wire, move on to simple logic gates, then to coloured cables, and finish with bundled and bitwise parts.[8]
Step 1: Red alloy wire
Everything starts with Red Alloy Wire. One craft gives you 12 wires, and the coloured cables later on use it too.[8]
Crafting Shaped
| any redstone alloy ingot | any redstone alloy ingot | any redstone alloy ingot |
Recipe id: morered:red_alloy_wire
One craft makes 12 wires.
Step 2: Stone plates and the Soldering Table
The Stone Plate can be crafted from a smooth stone slab for 12 plates. The stonecutter is the other route: a smooth stone slab gives 4 plates, and a full smooth stone block gives 8.[8]
Crafting Shaped
| any smooth stone slab | any smooth stone slab | any smooth stone slab |
Recipe id: morered:stone_plate
Crafting from a smooth stone slab gives 12 plates.
Next, make the Soldering Table. Most gates and parts have a second recipe made there, and a few only have a soldering recipe.[8]

Recipe id: morered:soldering_table
This is the pack's recipe for the Soldering Table.
Step 3: Basic logic gates
These are the basic logic parts, and each can be crafted by hand or soldered:[8]
- NOT Gate, OR Gate, NOR Gate, AND Gate and NAND Gate[8]
- XOR Gate and XNOR Gate[8]
- Two Input AND Gate and Two Input NAND Gate, the two input versions[8]
- Diode and Latch[8]
- Pulse Gate and Multiplexer[8]
Soldering (morered)
- 5× any redstone dust
- any smooth stone quarter slab
Recipe id: morered:and_gate_from_soldering
This is the soldering version of the AND Gate. A hand crafting recipe exists for it too.
Step 4: Posts and spools
Next come the Redwire Post, the Redwire Post Plate, the Redwire Post Relay Plate and the Redwire Spool.[8]

Step 5: Network cables
Network cables come in many colours, such as Red Network Cable, Blue Network Cable and White Network Cable.[8]
Crafting Shaped
8 × any red alloy wire
Recipe id: morered:red_network_cable
One craft makes 8 cables. The other colours follow the same pattern with their own dye.
Any network cable can be crafted into Bundled Network Cable, and one craft gives you 3. Bundled cable is what the last stage is built on.[8]
Crafting Shaped
| any network cable |

Recipe id: morered:bundled_network_cable
One craft makes 3 bundled cables.
Step 6: Bundled and bitwise parts
Bundled cables unlock Bundled Cable Post, Bundled Cable Relay Plate and Bundled Cable Spool.[8]
The bitwise parts are Bitwise AND Gate, Bitwise OR Gate, Bitwise XOR Gate, Bitwise XNOR Gate, Bitwise NOT Gate and Bitwise Diode. In the pack's recipe list they only have soldering recipes.[8]
Soldering (morered)
- any redstone dust
- any quartz gem
- 2× any smooth stone quarter slab
- any bundled network cable
Recipe id: morered:bitwise_and_gate_from_soldering
The Bitwise AND Gate is soldered, and it needs a bundled network cable.
The Hexidecrubrometer is also soldering only.[8]
Soldering (morered)
- 9× any redstone dust
- 4× any quartz gem
- 8× any smooth stone quarter slab
Recipe id: morered:hexidecrubrometer_from_soldering
This is the only recipe for the Hexidecrubrometer in the pack's list.
Which FTB Skies 2 quests use More Red?
There's no More Red quest chapter I can point you to here. The quest material for this section covers the Create chapter, which sits in the Tech Mods group as chapter 29 of 41 in the book and has 95 quests. None of its tasks ask for items from the morered namespace.[2]
Every task in that chapter asks for items from Create or from a few add-ons: ftbmaterials plates and ingots, Create: Hypertubes, and the AE Stock Bridge. So you won't be crafting any More Red parts to progress through it.[2]
Unverified Whether any other chapter of the quest book has a task that asks for More Red items is not confirmed, so check the quest book in game.
Which More Red config options matter?
2 parts
More Red has only a small set of options worth knowing about, and in this pack the ones that show a mod default are left at it. The pack has not changed those values, so you get the standard More Red behavior.[7][9]
Client options
- Rendering.showPlacementPreview is set to true. This renders a preview of plate blocks before you place them.[9]
- Rendering.previewPlacementOpacity is set to 0.4, which matches the mod default. The allowed range is 0.0 to 1.0. A higher value makes the preview less transparent and a lower value makes it more transparent.[9]
Server options
- [[config:config/morered-server.toml#General Settings.max_wire_plinth_connection_range]] is set to 32, the same as the mod default. This is the maximum plinth connection range.[7]
