What is More Red?
1 part
More Red is part of the pack in version 6.0.0.3 (file morered-1.21.1-6.0.0.3.jar). It has been in the pack since FTB StoneBlock 4 1.0.0 or earlier, so it isn't a recent addition.[1]
Unverified What More Red adds, including its blocks, items and any recipes or configs the pack changes, can't be confirmed from the sources available for this guide, so none of it is described here.
Quest book
The nearest tech content in the pack's quest book is the Oritech chapter, in the Forgotten Technology group (chapter 21 of 22, with 25 quests). It starts with "Welcome To Oritech!" quest and moves on to "Machine Basics" quest. Its tasks ask for items from ftbmaterials, oritech and oritechthings, and none of them are More Red items. So that chapter won't walk you through this mod.[2]
How do you get started with More Red?
6 parts
More Red adds wires, cables and logic parts for redstone builds. Here is the order I'd make things in. Each recipe block below shows the exact in-pack recipe, so I won't list ingredients in the text.[3]
Start with Stone Plates
Begin with the Stone Plate. The crafting recipe makes 12 plates per craft. The stonecutter also has two options: one gives 4 plates and the other gives 8.[3]

Then Red Alloy Wire
Next is Red Alloy Wire. One craft gives you 12 wires. The wire also appears in the network cable recipes and in the redwire spool recipe, so you will keep coming back to it.[3]

Your first logic parts
Now you can make basic logic parts. The Diode and the NOT Gate are good ones to try first. The OR Gate, AND Gate, NOR Gate, NAND Gate and Latch all have their own crafting recipes too.[3]

Network cables and bundled cable
When you want to carry more than one signal, move on to cables. Each dyed network cable recipe makes 8 cables per craft, for example the Blue Network Cable. The Bundled Network Cable recipe then turns network cables into 3 bundled cables.[3]

Posts and spools
For longer runs, the Redwire Post and the Redwire Spool both have crafting recipes. The pack sets [[config:config/morered-server.toml#General Settings.max_wire_plinth_connection_range]] to 32, which is the same as the mod default.[3][4]

Soldering
The mod also has a Soldering Table block and a Soldering recipe category. Several parts have a second recipe whose id ends in "from soldering", such as the Diode and the Latch. The pack has 17 soldering recipes in total, but the plain crafting recipes above are enough to get you started.[3][5]
How does More Red work?
6 parts
The sources for More Red in this pack are thin on how signals behave, so this section sticks to what they do show: how the parts are made, which pieces exist, and the one config value that affects wiring. Treat it as a map of the mod's pieces rather than a full signal guide.[3][4][5]
Soldering and crafting
The mod adds a Soldering Table block and a Soldering recipe category, and its soldering recipes use their own recipe type. Several of the simpler gates can be made two ways: by normal crafting, or by soldering. The Diode is a good example.[3][5]

The AND Gate and the Two Input AND Gate follow the same pattern, with a crafting recipe and a soldering recipe each. Both are also shown in the recipe dump.[3]
Gates
The mod's language file lists a full set of logic blocks: AND, NAND, OR, NOR, XOR, XNOR and NOT gates, plus a Latch, a Multiplexer and a Pulse Gate. AND, NAND and XOR-family gates also have two-input variants where the file lists them (Two Input AND Gate and Two Input NAND Gate).[5]
The Multiplexer and the Pulse Gate are made by ordinary crafting in this pack.[3]

Bitwise gates
There is also a bitwise family: Bitwise AND, OR, XOR, XNOR and NOT gates, and a Bitwise Diode. In the recipe dump, the Bitwise AND Gate, Bitwise Diode and Bitwise NOT Gate all have soldering recipes, and each of those uses a bundled network cable.[3][5]

Cables and bundled cables
Network cables come in many dye colours, such as Black Network Cable, Blue Network Cable and Brown Network Cable. One craft of a coloured cable makes 8 of them.[3][5]
Crafting Shaped

Recipe id: morered:black_network_cable
The coloured cables share this pattern, with the matching dye.
The Bundled Network Cable is made from regular network cables, and one craft gives you 3 of them.[3]

Stone plates
The Stone Plate is made at a stonecutter. A smooth stone slab gives you 4 plates, and a full smooth stone block gives you 8, so the full block is the better deal.[3]
Stonecutting

Recipe id: morered:stone_plate_from_smooth_stone_stonecutting
A full smooth stone block makes 8 plates.
Wire range
The only pack-side setting the sources show is [[config:config/morered-server.toml#General Settings.max_wire_plinth_connection_range]], the maximum plinth connection range. This pack sets it to 32, which is the same as the mod default, so nothing is changed from vanilla More Red here.[4]
How do you progress through More Red?
5 parts
The sources here don't show a More Red quest chapter, so the progression below follows the recipes. Every More Red recipe in the pack's recipe dump is listed as a plain mod recipe, so nothing here is a pack change. Here's the order the recipes naturally lead you through.[3]
Stage 1: Stone plates and red alloy wire
Almost everything starts with the Stone Plate. Crafting gives you 12 plates per craft, while the two stonecutting recipes give 4 or 8 depending on what you feed in.[3]
Crafting Shaped
| any smooth stone slab | any smooth stone slab | any smooth stone slab |
Recipe id: morered:stone_plate

Your wiring comes from Red Alloy Wire. One craft makes 12 pieces, so a small stack goes a long way.[3]

One craft gives 12 Red Alloy Wire.
Stage 2: Basic logic gates and the Soldering Table
Next come the simple gates: NOT Gate, OR Gate, AND Gate, NAND Gate, NOR Gate, XOR Gate, XNOR Gate, Diode and Latch. The two-input Two Input AND Gate and Two Input NAND Gate sit in the same tier. The recipe below shows the NOT Gate as an example.[3]

Next, build the Soldering Table. The soldered versions of the gates come from it, and the Multiplexer and Pulse Gate have a soldered version too. The recipe blocks below show the table and two examples.[3]

Stage 4: Posts, spools and relay plates
Posts and spools come in two flavours: the Redwire Post and Redwire Spool for single wires, and the Bundled Cable Post and Bundled Cable Spool for bundled cables. There are also plate versions: Redwire Post Plate, Redwire Post Relay Plate and Bundled Cable Relay Plate. The recipes below show the Redwire Post and the Bundled Cable Spool.[3]

Stage 5: Bitwise gates and the Hexidecrubrometer
The top end of the mod is soldering-only. The Bitwise AND Gate, Bitwise OR Gate, Bitwise NOT Gate, Bitwise XOR Gate, Bitwise XNOR Gate, Bitwise Diode and Hexidecrubrometer only have soldering recipes in the pack. The bitwise gates build on the bundled cables from Stage 3, so do that stage first. Two examples are shown below.[3]

Which FTB StoneBlock 4 quests use More Red?
The quest information available for this guide covers one chapter, Oritech (group Forgotten Technology, chapter 21 of 22 in the book), which has 25 quests. None of its tasks ask for an item from More Red. They all ask for items from other namespaces: oritech, oritechthings and ftbmaterials.[2]
So there are no More Red quests to walk you through here. If you spot one in another chapter of the quest book, it isn't covered by the sources for this section.[2]
Which More Red config options matter?
2 parts
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide
More Red has only a small set of options worth knowing about, and in this pack the ones that show a mod default are left at it. The pack has not changed those values, so you get the standard More Red behavior.[6][7]
Client options
- Rendering.showPlacementPreview is set to true. This renders a preview of plate blocks before you place them.[6]
- Rendering.previewPlacementOpacity is set to 0.4, which matches the mod default. The allowed range is 0.0 to 1.0. A higher value makes the preview less transparent and a lower value makes it more transparent.[6]
Server options
- [[config:config/morered-server.toml#General Settings.max_wire_plinth_connection_range]] is set to 32, the same as the mod default. This is the maximum plinth connection range.[7]
