What is More Red?
1 part
This pack ships More Red at version 6.0.0.3 (the file is morered-1.21.1-6.0.0.3.jar). It has been part of the pack since version 1.0.3 or earlier, so it isn't a recent addition.[1]
Where it sits in the quest book
I can't point you to a More Red chapter in the quest book. The Create chapter (group "Tech Mods", chapter 22 of 31) has 100 quests, and none of the ones I can see ask for a More Red item. They ask for items from Create, Create: New Age and a few other mods. The text of the other 57 quests isn't available here, so for the full list, open the Create chapter in the quest book.[2]
Unverified What More Red adds in this pack could not be confirmed. No description or in-game guidebook for the mod was available, so check its items in JEI in-game. This site does hold FTB Skies 2: Aero's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
How do you get started with More Red?
3 parts
More Red adds redstone wiring, logic gates and cables. In this pack a good first goal is the wire and cable chain: Red Alloy Ingot, then Red Alloy Wire, then network cables. The gates come next.[3][4]
Step by step
- Make a Red Alloy Ingot. The pack's recipe for it is a jumbo smelting recipe, and the pack changed it from the mod's version.[3]
- Turn the ingot into Red Alloy Wire. One craft gives you 12 wires. You need the wire later for network cables.[3]
- Make Stone Plate. Crafting from smooth stone slabs gives 12 plates. With a stonecutter, a smooth stone slab gives 4 plates and a full smooth stone block gives 8.[3]

Your first gates
Start with the simple ones: the Diode, the NOT Gate and the OR Gate. The pack changed the crafting recipes for these gates. Each one also has a Soldering version, and the pack changed those recipes too. Check the recipe viewer for whichever route you want.[3][4]

Cables for longer runs
To carry signals further, craft network cables. Each dye colour has its own recipe, for example Blue Network Cable, and one craft gives you 8 cables. Network cables can then be turned into Bundled Network Cable, which gives 3 per craft. The Bundled Cable Post and the bitwise gates use bundled cables.[3]

How does More Red work?
3 parts
More Red is a redstone-wiring mod, and in this pack the interesting part is how you build its parts. The sources for this pack cover the recipes, one config option and the item names. They do not include a guidebook, so this section sticks to those.[3][4][5]
Wire, cables and plates
Everything starts with Red Alloy Ingot. In this pack it is made with a jumbo smelting recipe instead of a normal furnace one, and the pack changed that recipe from the mod's version.[3]

Network cables come in many colours, one for each dye colour in the mod's language file. Each craft gives you 8 cables. The black, blue and brown versions all use the mod's own recipes, shown here with black as the example.[3][4]

To carry many signals in one line, craft Bundled Network Cable. A craft makes 3 of them, again with the mod's own recipe.[3]

Gates and soldering
The mod ships a lot of logic blocks. Its language file lists AND, NAND, NOR, NOT, OR, XNOR and XOR gates, plus two-input AND and NAND gates. There are also bitwise versions, a Diode, a Bitwise Diode, a Latch, a Multiplexer, a Pulse Gate and a Hexidecrubrometer. There is also a Soldering Table block and a Soldering recipe category in the interface.[4]
In this pack, AND Gate, Two Input AND Gate and Diode each have two routes: a normal crafting recipe and a soldering recipe. The pack changed both routes for all three, so don't rely on the mod's defaults.[3]

The bitwise parts work on bundled cables. Bitwise AND Gate, Bitwise Diode and Bitwise NOT Gate each have a pack-changed soldering recipe that takes a bundled network cable. The dump counts 17 soldering recipes made from vanilla and common items, plus a further 7 that also need bundled cables.[3]

Plinth range
The one setting the pack exposes is [[config:config/morered-server.toml#General Settings.max_wire_plinth_connection_range]], the maximum plinth connection range. The pack sets it to 32, the same as the mod default, so it has not been changed.[5]
How do you progress through More Red?
6 parts
The recipes are the progression for More Red in this pack: you go from red alloy and stone plates to basic logic parts, then to cables and posts, and finally to the bitwise gates. Many of these recipes were changed by the pack, and each stage below says which ones.[3]
Stage 1: Red alloy and stone plates
Everything starts with Red Alloy Ingot. The only recipe for it in the sources is a jumbo furnace smelting recipe, and the pack changed it.[3]

Turn the ingot into Red Alloy Wire, the base of every network cable. You also need Stone Plate, which has a crafting recipe and two stonecutting recipes.[3]

Stonecutting is another route: a smooth stone slab gives 4 plates and a smooth stone block gives 8.
Stage 2: The Soldering Table
The Soldering Table is a mod recipe that the pack leaves alone. Most parts below also have a soldering recipe, and the pack changed all of those.[3]

Stage 3: Basic logic parts
The pack changed the crafting recipes for the Diode, Latch, NOT Gate, NOR Gate, OR Gate, AND Gate, NAND Gate and XOR Gate, plus the two input AND and NAND gates. The XNOR Gate is the exception: its crafting recipe is the mod's own, but its soldering recipe is pack-changed.[3]
On the Soldering Table, the redstone each gate needs is:[3]
- 2 redstone: NOT Gate and NOR Gate.[3]
- 3 redstone: Diode, Latch, OR Gate and Two Input NAND Gate.[3]
- 4 redstone: NAND Gate, XOR Gate, XNOR Gate and Two Input AND Gate.[3]
- 5 redstone: AND Gate.[3]

Stage 4: Multiplexer and Pulse Gate

Stage 6: Bitwise gates and the Hexidecrubrometer
This is the top of the line. The Bitwise AND Gate, Bitwise OR Gate, Bitwise XOR Gate, Bitwise XNOR Gate, Bitwise NOT Gate and Bitwise Diode only have soldering recipes in the sources, and all of them are pack-changed. The Hexidecrubrometer is the same: soldering only, pack-changed.[3]

Which FTB Skies 2: Aero quests use More Red?
The quest book doesn't give More Red a quest chapter of its own that I can confirm. The Create chapter sits in the Tech Mods group, as chapter 22 of 31 in the book, and none of its 100 quests asks you to hand in an item from More Red.[2]
If you're looking for redstone-flavoured quests there, they all ask for Create items instead. "Redstone Control" quest wants the Redstone Link, and it unlocks after the Transmitter quest. "Redstone Contact" quest asks for the Redstone Contact. "Contraption Controls" quest asks for Contraption Controls and comes after "Electron Tube" quest. These are Create's own blocks, so don't expect to craft any More Red wiring for them.[2]
Unverified Whether a quest in any other chapter of the book asks for a More Red item could not be confirmed from the sources available for this section.
Which More Red config options matter?
2 parts
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide
More Red has only a small set of options worth knowing about, and in this pack the ones that show a mod default are left at it. The pack has not changed those values, so you get the standard More Red behavior.[6][7]
Client options
- Rendering.showPlacementPreview is set to true. This renders a preview of plate blocks before you place them.[6]
- Rendering.previewPlacementOpacity is set to 0.4, which matches the mod default. The allowed range is 0.0 to 1.0. A higher value makes the preview less transparent and a lower value makes it more transparent.[6]
Server options
- [[config:config/morered-server.toml#General Settings.max_wire_plinth_connection_range]] is set to 32, the same as the mod default. This is the maximum plinth connection range.[7]
