What is Eccentric Tome?
Eccentric Tome is part of the pack's mod list. This version of the pack ships Eccentric Tome 1.21.1-1.2.0, and the mod has been in the pack since version 1.13.0 or earlier.[1]
Unverified The sources I have for this section only confirm that the mod is installed and which version it is. They don't describe what Eccentric Tome does, its recipes or configs, or where it fits in the pack's progression. I also have no confirmation of a quest or ATM Star path involving it, so I won't guess at any of those. Check the in-game item tooltips and the mod's own documentation for details.
How do you get started with Eccentric Tome?
1 part
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide
The first and only thing to make for this mod in the pack is the Eccentric Tome. There is no long chain of first steps: you craft one item and that is your starting point.[2]
Step 1: Craft the tome
The tome is a shapeless crafting recipe, so you can place the ingredients anywhere in the crafting grid. The exact in-pack recipe is shown below.[2]
This is a shapeless recipe, so the ingredients can go in any slot of the crafting grid.
How does Eccentric Tome work?
2 parts
In this pack the Eccentric Tome is shaped by a single common config that controls which guidebooks it works with. The sources here only cover that config and the crafting recipe, so this section is short.[3][4]
Crafting the tome
The tome is a shapeless crafting recipe, so ingredient positions don't matter. The exact in-pack recipe is below.[4]
What the pack config controls
The common config covers which items are whitelisted, how mods are aliased to one another, and whether the conversion overlay is shown.[3]
- common.items is the whitelist of items. The pack fills it with guidebooks and manuals from many mods, for example Guide, Guide Book, Engineer's Manual, Manual (Powah!) and Modonomicon. Some entries are listed more than once.[3]
- common.aliases holds the mod aliases. The pack maps several add-ons onto a parent mod, for example mythicbotany to botania, integratedtunnels to integrateddynamics and mysticalaggraditions to mysticalagriculture. It also maps rftoolsbuilder, xnet and deepresonance, among others, to rftoolsbase.[3]
- common.disable_overlay is set to false in the pack. This option disables the overlay that previews tome conversion, so the overlay stays enabled here.[3]
Unverified The config describes an overlay that previews tome conversion, but the sources here do not show how a whitelisted book is converted into the tome or how aliases change that. The whitelist and alias lists live in config/eccentrictome-common.toml, which only lists the entries.
How do you progress through Eccentric Tome?
1 part
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide
There is no tier ladder to climb with this mod. The recipe dump for this pack lists just one recipe that makes an item from the mod, and it makes the Eccentric Tome. So the only crafting step you need to know about is the tome itself.[2]
Crafting the tome
The recipe is shapeless, so the ingredients can go anywhere in the crafting grid. It is listed as a mod recipe, and nothing in the dump shows the pack changing it. The exact in-pack recipe is below.[2]
Shapeless recipe, so the layout in the grid doesn't matter.
Which Eccentric Tome config options matter?
3 parts
Eccentric Tome only has a common config in this pack, and it's short. Here is exactly how the pack sets each option.[3]
Whitelisted items
common.items is the whitelist of items the tome accepts. The pack fills it with guide books and manuals from many mods.[3]
- Examples on the list are Guide, Guide Book, Engineer's Manual, Manual (Powah!) and Dictionary Of Spirits.[3]
- A couple of entries appear twice, such as Fargo's Talismans Guide and MI Guidebook. The file doesn't say why, so don't read anything into it.[3]
Mod aliases
common.aliases maps one mod id onto another. The pack sets these aliases:[3]
- mythicbotany maps to botania.[3]
- integratedtunnels, integratedterminals and integratedcrafting all map to integrateddynamics.[3]
- rftoolsbuilder, rftoolscontrol, rftoolsdim, rftoolspower, rftoolsstorage, rftoolsutility, deepresonance and xnet all map to rftoolsbase. rftoolspower is listed twice.[3]
- mysticalaggraditions maps to mysticalagriculture.[3]
Conversion overlay
common.disable_overlay is set to false in this pack. Per the file's comment, this option disables the overlay that previews tome conversion, so with it false the overlay is not disabled.[3]
