What is Easy Villagers?

1 part

Easy Villagers adds villager-related items to the pack, including the Villager, the Trader and the Auto Trader. The pack ships version 1.21.1-1.1.39 of the NeoForge build, and the mod has been in the pack since 1.0.1 or earlier.[1][2]

Where it shows up in the pack

The quest book mentions the mod in the "useful_items_tips" chapter. In that quest, a quest in "?", you need the Villager item and then either the Trader or the Auto Trader. That chapter placement suggests the pack treats these as handy utility items rather than a required progression gate, but the sources don't say so outright.[2]

Unverified The sources don't describe how the Villager, Trader or Auto Trader work, whether the pack changes any of their recipes or configs, or how the mod fits into the pack's progression, so none of that is covered here. The sources also don't show the mod on the ATM Star quest path.

How do you get started with Easy Villagers?

3 parts

Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide

The pack's quest book points you at Easy Villagers in the useful_items_tips chapter, in the quest a quest in "?". That quest is the best guide to what to make first, so here is the order it follows.[3]

What to get, in order

  1. Get a Villager. It is the first task listed in the quest.[3]
  2. Craft a Trader. The quest's next task accepts it, and in this pack it has a normal shaped crafting recipe.[3][4]
  3. Or craft an Auto Trader instead. The same task accepts it in place of the Trader, and it has its own separate shaped recipe.[3][4]

Tip: The quest accepts either the Trader or the Auto Trader for that task, so you only need to make one of them to complete it.[3]

How does Easy Villagers work?

2 parts

Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide

The sources I have for Easy Villagers in this pack only cover crafting. They show the Trader and the Auto Trader, and both are made with shaped crafting recipes that the pack lists as mod recipes.[4]

This is the shaped crafting recipe for the Auto Trader in this pack.

Compare the recipe blocks above: the Auto Trader's recipe is not identical to the Trader's, so you cannot make one by simply repeating the other.[4]

Unverified How the Trader and Auto Trader actually work is not shown by the sources here. That covers how villagers are placed in them, how trades are chosen or automated, and how they connect to hoppers or pipes. Power and fluid use are not covered either, and the pack has no config files for this mod. Check these in-game before you build around them.

How do you progress through Easy Villagers?

4 parts

Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide

Easy Villagers has a short progression path in this pack. It runs through the Villager, the Trader and the Auto Trader. The pack's quest book and its recipes show how they fit together.[3][4]

The quest

The mod's quest, a quest in "?", sits in the useful_items_tips chapter and has no title in the pack files. Its first task asks for a Villager item. Its second task accepts either a Trader or an Auto Trader, so you can hand in the Auto Trader straight away if you like.[3]

Tier breakdown

  1. Villager: the item the quest asks for first.[3]
  2. Trader: crafted with a shaped crafting recipe, and a valid hand-in for the quest's second task. The recipe is below.[3][4]
  3. Auto Trader: also crafted with a shaped crafting recipe, and accepted for the same task as the Trader. The recipe is below.[3][4]

The Auto Trader is also a shaped crafting recipe. Compare it with the Trader grid above to see what it adds.

Tip: Both recipes take their ingredients from item tags, so any item in the matching tag works. Check the recipe blocks above for the exact layout.[4]

How does Easy Villagers work with other mods?

2 parts

Easy Villagers doesn't have a lot of crossover in this pack, but there's one connection worth knowing about: the pack adds its own Modern Industrialization recipe that uses a Villager.[5]

Modern Industrialization and Ender IO: the Deep Mob Binder

The pack adds a custom recipe to the Modern Industrialization Deep Mob Binder, built around the Soul Vial. It is added by the pack, not by any of the mods themselves. Here's the exact recipe as it appears in the pack:[5]

Quest tie-in

Easy Villagers also shows up in the quest book. In the useful_items_tips chapter, the quest a quest in "?" has an item task for the Villager, and another for either the Trader or the Auto Trader. Either trader block will complete that second task.[2]

Beyond these two links, the available sources don't show any other in-pack recipes or quests that combine Easy Villagers with other mods.[2][5]

Which FTB Skies 2 quests use Easy Villagers?

Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide

Easy Villagers shows up in one place in the pack's quest book: the "useful_items_tips" chapter, in the quest a quest in "?". That quest has no title in the quest file.[3]

The tasks in that quest are the only quest content for this mod that the sources show:[3]
