What is Refined Cooking?
3 parts
Refined Cooking is a bridge mod. It lets Refined Storage and Cooking for Blockheads work together, so you can cook straight from your storage network instead of hauling ingredients to the cooking table.[1]
It adds two blocks, the Kitchen Station and the Kitchen Access Point, and one item, the Kitchen Network Card. This pack ships Refined Cooking 7.3.1, built for NeoForge on 26.1.2.[1][2]
How the pieces fit together
- Place the Kitchen Station as part of your Cooking for Blockheads kitchen network. It acts as a Refined Storage Network Receiver.[1]
- Attach a Kitchen Network Card to the Kitchen Station.[1]
- Put that same Kitchen Network Card inside a Kitchen Access Point. The Access Point acts as a Refined Storage Network Transmitter and goes in your Refined Storage network.[1]
Once everything is connected, you can consume items from your Refined Storage network right from your cooking table. Water and milk are pulled straight from fluid storage too.[1]
Both blocks show different looks for connected, linked but offline, and unlinked states, so you can tell at a glance whether your setup is working.[1]
In-game guide
The mod's own in-game guide is a Patchouli book. It has entries for the Kitchen Station, the Kitchen Access Point and the Kitchen Network Card.[1][3][4][5][6][7]
Quest book
Unverified Where this pack's quest book places Refined Cooking, and whether the ATM Star path uses it, is not shown in the sources here. Check the quest book in game for any chapter or group that covers it.
How do you get started with Refined Cooking?
5 parts
Refined Cooking is a small bridge mod. It connects your Cooking for Blockheads kitchen to Refined Storage, so you can cook straight from your network inventory. The pieces are the Kitchen Station, the Kitchen Access Point and the Kitchen Network Card. Here is the order to set them up in.[1][7][8]
Start with the Kitchen Station
Start at the kitchen. The Kitchen Station lets your cooking table craft with items from your Refined Storage network, and with fluids like water and milk too. Place it in your kitchen beside the cooking table, or wire it in through counters.[1][8]

Then the Kitchen Network Card
The card is what links the two blocks. Right-click the placed Kitchen Station with it to record the station's position. The card's tooltip then shows where it is linked to.[8]

Finish with the Kitchen Access Point
The Kitchen Access Point goes on your Refined Storage network, not in the kitchen. It acts as a Network Transmitter and projects the network to the remote station. Open it and insert the card to complete the link.[1][8]

Quick setup recap
- Place the Kitchen Station in your kitchen, next to the cooking table or wired in through counters.[8]
- Right-click the placed station with a Kitchen Network Card to record its position.[8]
- Place a Kitchen Access Point on your Refined Storage network.[1][8]
- Open the access point and insert the card. The station's screen lights up once it is connected.[8]
Power and range
Both blocks draw energy. This pack sets kitchenAccessPointUsage to 32 and kitchenStationUsage to 8, which are the same as the mod's stated defaults, so the pack has not changed them.[10]
The link works across distance and even across dimensions, as long as both ends stay chunk-loaded. The access point's antennas light up while it is powered and active on the network.[8]
How does Refined Cooking work?
7 parts
Refined Cooking is a small bridge mod. It connects your Cooking for Blockheads kitchen with Refined Storage, so you can cook straight from your network inventory. It adds two blocks and one item, and the whole system comes down to how they fit together.[1][8]
The two ends of the link
The Kitchen Station goes in your kitchen and acts as a Refined Storage Network Receiver. The Kitchen Access Point goes on your Refined Storage network and acts as a Network Transmitter. The Kitchen Network Card ties the two together: the station gets attached to a card, and that card goes into the access point.[1]
Once everything is connected, you can consume items from your Refined Storage network right from your cooking table.[1]
Kitchen Station
The Kitchen Station lets your Cooking for Blockheads cooking table craft with items straight from your Refined Storage network. That includes fluids like water and milk, which are pulled from fluid storage.[1][8]
Place it in your kitchen beside the cooking table, or wire it in through counters. It needs to be placed as part of the kitchen network to do its job. Its screen lights up once it is connected.[1][8]
Kitchen Access Point
The Kitchen Access Point sits on your Refined Storage network and projects it to a remote Kitchen Station. Open it and insert a Kitchen Network Card to choose which station to feed.[8]
It reaches across distance and even dimensions, as long as both ends stay chunk-loaded. Its antennas light up while it is powered and active on the network.[8]
Linking them up
- Place the Kitchen Station in your kitchen, next to the cooking table or wired in through counters.[1][8]
- Right-click the placed Kitchen Station with a Kitchen Network Card. This records the station's position on the card.[8]
- Place the Kitchen Access Point on your Refined Storage network.[1]
- Open the access point and insert the card to complete the link. The station's screen lights up once it is connected.[8]
A linked card has a tooltip that tells you the coordinates and dimension it points to, so you can check which station a card feeds.[8]
Power
The access point draws energy from the network, like a Refined Storage Network Transmitter. Both blocks have a configurable energy usage. This pack sets them to the same values the config file lists as the defaults:[8][10]
- kitchenAccessPointUsage is 32, matching the Network Transmitter.[10]
- kitchenStationUsage is 8, matching the Network Receiver, the passive remote end of the link.[10]
Reading the status
The Kitchen Access Point screen tells you what is wrong when the link does not work. It can show these states, plus the distance to the linked station in blocks:[8]
- Inactive.[8]
- Missing Kitchen Card: no card is inserted.[8]
- Kitchen Card Not Bound: the card has not been linked to a station yet.[8]
- Unreachable.[8]
If you use Jade, both blocks have a Jade readout. It reports lines such as Connected to Network, Not Connected to Network, Connected to Network - No Card, Connected to Network - Not Transmitting and Connected to Network - Transmitting. It can also show On Network - No Power for a block that is linked but offline.[8]

How do you progress through Refined Cooking?
2 parts
Refined Cooking has no tier ladder in this pack. It adds the Kitchen Access Point, the Kitchen Network Card and the Kitchen Station, and each one is a shaped crafting recipe that comes from the mod itself. The pack data does not show a changed recipe for any of them.[9]

Where it sits in the quest book
Unverified The sources here do not show any quest in this pack's quest book that involves Refined Cooking, so they do not give the mod a chapter, a group or a place in the pack's progression. The order in which to craft these items is not shown either. Check the quest chapters in game for anything beyond what is listed here.
Which Refined Cooking config options matter?
The common config for Refined Cooking lists just two options, and both set how much energy one of the mod's blocks uses. This pack leaves both at the mod's default values, so you won't find any pack-specific changes here.[10]
- kitchenAccessPointUsage is 32 in this pack, the same as the default. The config comment says this matches the Refined Storage Network Transmitter. That fits, because the Kitchen Access Point acts as a Network Transmitter in your Refined Storage network.[1][10]
- kitchenStationUsage is 8 in this pack, also the same as the default. The config comment says this matches the Refined Storage Network Receiver. That fits, because the Kitchen Station acts as a Network Receiver at your cooking table.[1][10]
The Kitchen Access Point projects your network to the remote station, so it uses more energy (32) than the Kitchen Station (8), which is the passive remote end of the link. If you want to change the power draw of your kitchen setup, these are the two values to edit.[10]
What changed in Refined Cooking between versions?
1 part
FTB Evolution 2 1.1.0 ships Refined Cooking version 7.3.1. The mod was already in the pack in 1.0.2 or earlier, so it is not a new addition in this release.[2]
Refined Cooking 7.3.1
This is the version you get in 1.1.0, and it is a small one. The mod's own changelog describes it as a model fix with no gameplay changes, so nothing about how you cook changes.[2][13]
- Fixed: the support block behind the Kitchen Station's screen sat slightly forward of the tilted display. It was nudged back so it meets the screen.[13]
Unverified The sources here include no pack changelog entries for Refined Cooking, so any changes the pack itself made to this mod in earlier releases are not shown. Check the FTB Evolution 2 pack changelogs for those.
