Agritech: Evolved (ATE) is a mod in FTB Evolution 2 1.4.0, where it is version 2.2.0.6+neoforge-mc26.1.2. Farming automation mod with planters, machines, modules, and power gen. (Summary from the mod's Modrinth page.)

What is Agritech: Evolved (ATE)?

2 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 11 0.8.0-beta guide

Agritech: Evolved (ATE) is a farming automation mod. It gives you planters that grow crops and trees on their own, plus machines, upgrade modules and power generation to scale that up. If you like setting up a farm once and letting it run, this one is for you.[1]

The pack ships version 2.2.0.3 for NeoForge, and it has been in the pack since 0.8.0-beta or earlier.[2]

What you get

  • Basic Planter: plant a seed or sapling and it grows by itself. Drops go into whatever is underneath it, and it handles all 11 vanilla wood types.[1]
  • Advanced Planter: runs on RF and has speed and yield upgrade slots.[1]
  • Cloche: a glass dome that attaches to a planter to boost growth speed and yield. It stacks with fertilizer and modules.[1]
  • Machines: a Composter (biomass fuel and fertilizer), a Silo that pulls drops from planters in range, a Fertilizer Spreader, a Biomass Burner that makes RF, and Energy Capacitors in three tiers (500k / 1M / 4M RF).[1]
  • Modules: Speed, Yield and Range, each in MK1-3. Range modules extend the Silo and Fertilizer Spreader.[1]
  • Growth blocks: Mulch gives +50% growth speed and Infused Farmland gives +100%.[1]

Why it's handy in a big pack

The mod has built-in support for crops, trees and soils from many other mods, including Mystical Agriculture, Farmer's Delight, Ars Nouveau and Immersive Engineering. Bone meal works as fertilizer, and so do fertilizers from several other mods.[1]

Seeds, soils, saplings and fertilizers are all data-driven, so they can be changed with datapacks or KubeJS. Module strength, power draw, processing times and ranges are tunable in the balance config.[1]

Watch out: Don't confuse this with Agritech (AT2). They are two separate mods with different namespaces, so datapacks or KubeJS scripts written for one do nothing for the other.[1]

Unverified The sources I have don't show any quests or ATM Star path steps for this mod, and they don't show whether the pack changed any of its default values or recipes. Check the in-game recipes and configs before you plan around specific numbers. This site does hold FTB Evolution 2's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

How do you get started with Agritech: Evolved (ATE)?

5 parts

Agritech: Evolved (ATE) is a farming automation mod built around planters, machines, modules and power generation. The order below takes you from a first planter to an automated setup.[1]

Start with a planter

Your first craft is the Oak Planter (the Oak Planter). Plant a seed or sapling in it and it grows by itself, and the drops go into whatever is underneath it. There is a planter for each wood type too, like the Spruce Planter, and coloured terracotta planters such as the Black Terracotta Planter.[1][3][4]

The Oak Planter is the basic planter to start with.

You can right-click a planter with seeds, saplings or soil to insert them directly, and right-click with a hoe to till compatible blocks. Bone meal works as fertilizer, and you can pipe or hopper fertilizer into any side of a planter.[1]

Better soil

Mulch gives +50% growth speed and Infused Farmland gives +100% growth speed, so they are worth making before you build any power setup.[1]

This recipe makes 2 Mulch.

Make biomass

The Composter turns organic items into biomass fuel and fertilizer, and anything that works in a vanilla composter works in it too. It can run without energy at a slower rate. In this pack its base processing time is 600 ticks (machines.composter.base_processing_time).[1][4][5]

    Generate power

The Biomass Burner burns crude, regular or compacted biomass for RF. Crude Biomass is the starter fuel and gives 250 RF per item, while regular biomass gives 2,500 RF per item in this pack. Those values are set in machines.burner.crude_biomass_rf_value and machines.burner.biomass_rf_value.[1][4][5]

Energy capacitors come in three tiers that store 500,000, 1,000,000 and 4,000,000 RF. The Capacitor Tier 1 is the first tier, and it stores and distributes RF between your generator and your machines.[1][4][5]

    Move up to automation

The Advanced Planter runs on RF and has speed and yield upgrade slots. In this pack it uses 128 RF/t and holds 100,000 RF. Its base processing time is 600 ticks, against 1,200 ticks for basic planters.[1][5]

How does Agritech: Evolved (ATE) work?

    9 parts

Agritech: Evolved is a farming automation mod, and almost everything in it revolves around planters. You plant a seed or sapling, boost the growth with soil, fertilizer and modules, then let machines handle the drops and the power. Here is how each piece works in this pack.[1]

    Planters

A basic planter is the simple version: put in a seed or sapling and it grows by itself, with the drops going into whatever sits underneath it. The Advanced Planter runs on RF and adds speed and yield upgrade slots.[1]

The pack leaves the planter numbers at the mod defaults. Basic planters use a base processing time of 1,200 ticks (machines.advanced_planter.base_processing_time). The Advanced Planter uses 600 ticks (machines.advanced_planter.advanced_base_processing_time), draws 128 RF/t (machines.advanced_planter.base_power_consumption) and has a 100,000 RF buffer (machines.advanced_planter.energy_buffer).[5]

You can right-click a planter with seeds, saplings or soil to insert them directly, and right-click with a hoe to till soil that is inside. If a crop does not suit the soil, you get the message that the seed or sapling can't grow on this soil.[1][4]

    Soils

Mulch used in a planter grants 50% growth speed. Infused Farmland grants 100% growth speed and works in planters or as normal farmland. You make it by combining Mulch and a hoe in a crafting table, or by tilling Mulch in a planter.[4]

    Durability Shapeless (agritechevolved)

    Recipe id: agritechevolved:mulch_to_infused_farmland

Mystical Agriculture farmland also works as a soil, and you cannot downgrade its tier by placing a lower one.[1][4]

The pack's scripts also add Snad and Red Snad to the agritechevolved:sand_soils item tag, and Soul Snad to the agritechevolved:soul_sand_soils tag. Those come from Utilitarian.[6]

Unverified Which soils each crop accepts, and the exact growth modifier of every soil, is set in the mod's soil_modifiers data map. The sources here do not show that file, so check the planter's Jade tooltip in game.

    Cloche

The cloche goes on top of a planter to increase growth and yield, and it stacks with fertilizer. Shift-right-click with an empty hand to remove it. If you break a cloched planter, you get both items back separately.[1][4]

In this pack the cloche gives a speed multiplier of 1.15 (machines.advanced_planter.cloche_speed_multiplier) and a yield multiplier of 1.1 (machines.advanced_planter.cloche_yield_multiplier). Both are the mod defaults.[5]

    Fertilizer

Right-click a planter with Bone Meal or another fertilizer to boost growth. You can also pipe or hopper fertilizer into any side of a planter. Each fertilizer has a speed and a yield multiplier, and for every one listed here the two values are equal:[1][4][7]

These values live in a data map, so datapacks or KubeJS can change them.[1][7]

    Fertilizer Spreader

The Fertilizer Spreader pushes fertilizer items into every planter in range. This pack keeps the mod defaults for it:[1][5]

    Silo

The Silo is the other half of the automation: it pulls harvested drops out of the planters in range. The pack's values are the mod defaults:[1][5]

The Range Upgrade modules (MK1, MK2 and MK3) increase the range of both the Silo and the Fertilizer Spreader by 16, 32 and 64 blocks respectively.[4]

    Speed and yield modules

Speed and yield modules come in three marks each, and the pack keeps the mod defaults. Speed modules raise processing speed and power draw by the same factor:[4][5]

Yield modules trade speed for harvest. Each one has a yield multiplier and a speed penalty multiplier:[4][5]

    Composter and biomass

The Composter turns organic items into biomass fuel and fertilizer, and anything that works in a vanilla composter works here too. It can run without energy at a slower rate. When powered, this pack uses the mod defaults:[1][4]

Biomass is used to create Compacted Biomass, and Compacted Biomass is used to create Mulch.[4]

The pack has changed several recipes that output Biomass in Oritech and LTX Industries machines. Examples are below.[3]

        Biomass Burner and capacitors

The Biomass Burner turns biomass into RF and has a 100,000 RF buffer (machines.burner.energy_buffer). Crude biomass is the starter fuel. The pack's values are:[1][4][5]

Capacitors store RF and distribute it automatically, so they need no manual operation. There are three tiers:[4][5]

        • Tier 1: 500,000 RF buffer, 512 RF/t transfer[5]
        • Tier 2: 1,000,000 RF buffer, 2,048 RF/t transfer[5]
        • Tier 3: 4,000,000 RF buffer, 8,192 RF/t transfer[5]
Tip: If you have Jade, the planter info shows crop stage, energy, fertilizer, soil and installed modules or cloche, so you can check what a planter is doing without opening it.[4]

How do you progress through Agritech: Evolved (ATE)?

        4 parts

Agritech: Evolved gives you planters, capacitors and upgrade modules to craft in this pack. Use the recipe blocks below for the exact in-pack ingredients.[3]

Unverified The sources here show no quest chapter that involves this mod, so the order below follows the item names and recipes, not a quest path. Any quest guidance for it is not shown in these sources.

        Planters

The Oak Planter (shown in game as the Oak Planter) is the entry point. It has its normal recipe and a separate any-wood recipe, and both give you the Oak Planter.[3]

Biomass: where the pack changed things

Biomass is where the pack steps in. These recipes that produce it are marked as changed by the pack: Oritech pulverizer recipes (biobasic, hay_block, packagedwheatbio and a recycle biomass recipe), Oritech fragment forge recipes (biobasic, hay_block, packagedwheatbio), and two LTX Industries grinding recipes for bamboo and sugar cane. The sugar cane grinding also gives you sugar.[3]

Biomass also compacts. The pack changed an Oritech crafting recipe that makes Compacted Biomass and another Oritech crafting recipe that gives 9 Biomass. The mod also has Compacted Biomass Block and Crude Biomass.[3]

Which Agritech: Evolved (ATE) config options matter?

        5 parts

Good news first: in this pack, every option in the Agritech: Evolved (ATE) common config is left at the mod default. The pack did not change any value, so what you see below is also what the mod ships with. If you edit the file yourself, the file listing also shows the allowed range for each option.[5]

        Burner power generation

The Biomass Burner turns biomass into RF. Each fuel has its own RF value and burn duration, and the burner holds machines.burner.energy_buffer = 100,000 RF.[1][5]

        Planters and cloche

The planter options all live under the advanced_planter section. Basic planters use machines.advanced_planter.base_processing_time = 1,200 ticks as their base processing time, while the Advanced Planter uses machines.advanced_planter.advanced_base_processing_time = 600 ticks. The Advanced Planter draws machines.advanced_planter.base_power_consumption = 128 RF/t and has a machines.advanced_planter.energy_buffer of 100,000 RF.[5]

        A cloche attached to a planter multiplies speed by machines.advanced_planter.cloche_speed_multiplier = 1.15 and yield by machines.advanced_planter.cloche_yield_multiplier = 1.1.[5]

        Modules

Speed modules multiply both speed and power use by the same amount. Yield modules give more harvest at the cost of a speed penalty multiplier.[1][5]

        Capacitors

        Silo, Fertilizer Spreader and Composter

The Silo and the Fertilizer Spreader both have a base range of 16 blocks (machines.silo.base_range, machines.fertilizer_spreader.base_range). Each draws 128 RF/t (machines.silo.base_power_consumption, machines.fertilizer_spreader.base_power_consumption).[5]

The Silo pulls from planters every 60 ticks (machines.silo.pull_interval). The Spreader pushes every 60 ticks (machines.fertilizer_spreader.push_interval), 8 fertilizer items per planter per push (machines.fertilizer_spreader.push_amount).[5]

        The Composter uses machines.composter.base_power_consumption = 128 RF/t and a base processing time of machines.composter.base_processing_time = 600 ticks.[5]

What changed in Agritech: Evolved (ATE) between versions?

FTB Evolution 2 1.1.0 ships Agritech: Evolved (ATE) version 2.2.0.5+neoforge-mc26.1.2. The mod was already in the pack by 1.0.2 or earlier, so it is not a new addition in this release.[12]

The mod's own changelog for that version has a single entry: "Fresh textures". It does not say which textures changed, so check the mod in game if you want to see the difference.[13]

Unverified The pack changelogs have no entries for this mod, so the sources here do not show whether the pack changed any of its values or recipes between releases. Anything like that would be told in the pack's own release notes.
