What is Ore Dragons?

Ore Dragons is included in this pack as version 1.18.2-0.0.3, shipped as the file oredragons-1.18.2-0.0.3.jar. It has been in the pack for a long time, since version 2.0 or earlier.[1]

That is all the pack files confirm about the mod right now. I don't have a verified description of its features, so I won't guess at what the dragons do, how they are obtained, or what they drop.[1]

Unverified Not confirmed from the available sources: what Ore Dragons adds in gameplay terms, who it is best suited to, where it fits in the pack's progression, and whether it connects to the ATM Star path. No quests or in-game guidebook entries for it were found, so check the mod in-game before relying on any details.

How do you get started with Ore Dragons?

2 parts

Same as in the All the Mods - Gravitas 4.0 guide

The sources for Ore Dragons in this pack confirm the Syringe and the Dragon Meal as craftable items. Both recipes use the Radiation Bottle, so that is the item your first steps revolve around. Here is the order I'd go in, and why.[2]

Make the Syringe first

The Syringe is an injection that makes you immune against Nuclear Radiation. It is the one item whose effect the sources here confirm, which is why it comes first.[3]

The pack changed this recipe, so don't rely on the mod's default.

Watch out: Radiation immunity is lost after dying, and a used injection is shown as an Already used Injection. Expect to need another Syringe after a death.[3]

Then the Dragon Meal

The Dragon Meal is the other Ore Dragons item with a confirmed in-pack recipe. The pack changed it too, so follow the recipe below rather than any mod default you remember.[2]

How does Ore Dragons work?

4 parts

Here's the honest picture for this pack: the sources I have for Ore Dragons don't describe any machines, multiblocks, power, fluid or item-handling systems. What they do cover is radiation immunity, a pair of pack-changed recipes and a structure setting, so that's what this section sticks to.[3][4][5]

Radiation immunity

The mod's injection tooltips describe protection against nuclear radiation. An injection makes you immune against Nuclear Radiation, and an injection that has been spent is labelled as already used. The immunity doesn't last forever: it is lost when you die.[3]

Plan around that death rule. If you rely on the immunity for a radiation-heavy area, a death means you'll need to get protected again before going back.[3]

Syringe

The pack has its own version of the Syringe recipe. Here is the exact in-pack recipe:[5]

The pack changed this recipe from the mod's own version.

Dragon Meal

The recipe for Dragon Meal is also changed by the pack. It is a shaped crafting recipe. Here is how it's made in this pack:[5]

The pack changed this recipe from the mod's own version.

Dragon caves

The pack sets [[config:config/oredragons-common.toml#Structure Options.dragonCaveShellBlock]] to tfc:rock/bricks/granite. The option's own comment calls it the dragon cave shell block, and says you can leave it empty if you don't want an extra shell.[4]

How do you progress through Ore Dragons?

2 parts

Same as in the All the Mods - Gravitas 4.0 guide

The sources I have for Ore Dragons in this pack cover the recipes for Dragon Meal and Syringe. The pack has changed both, so don't rely on what you remember from the mod's default recipes.[2]

Dragon Meal

Dragon Meal is crafted with a shaped recipe that the pack has changed. The recipe below is the exact in-pack version.[2]

Recipe id: oredragons:dragon_meal

This is the pack-changed recipe, and it uses Radiation Bottle.

Syringe

Syringe also has a shaped recipe that the pack has changed. Check the recipe below before you plan your materials.[2]

This is the pack-changed recipe, and it also uses Radiation Bottle.

Tip: Both pack recipes use Radiation Bottle, so plan how you'll get it before you start gathering anything else.[2]

Unverified The sources here do not show any quest involving Ore Dragons, so I can't place the mod on the pack's quest path.

Which Ore Dragons config options matter?

The only Ore Dragons config option I can confirm for this pack is the dragon cave shell block, set in [[config:config/oredragons-common.toml#Structure Options.dragonCaveShellBlock]]. It decides which block gets wrapped around a dragon cave as an extra outer shell.[4]

This pack sets it to Granite Bricks, so the extra shell around dragon caves is made of granite bricks from TerraFirmaCraft rather than something vanilla.[4]

Tip: The config comment says you can leave this option empty if you don't want an extra shell at all. It also gives minecraft:tnt as an example of the kind of block ID the option accepts, so use a full block ID in the same format as the pack's value.[4]

Unverified I can't confirm what the mod's own default for the dragon cave shell block is, so I can't say whether the pack changed it. The other Ore Dragons options in this file (dragon spawning, structure frequency and so on) were not available to check either.
