What is Ore Dragons?
Ore Dragons is part of this pack, which ships version 1.18.2-0.0.3 of the mod. It has been in the pack since version 2.0 or earlier, so it's a long-standing part of the mod list.[1]
That's about everything I can confirm right now. The sources I have don't describe what the dragons do, how they behave, or which items and recipes belong to the mod, so I'm not going to guess at them.[1]
Unverified What Ore Dragons adds in detail (the dragons themselves, their drops, and any crafting) is unconfirmed. Who the mod is best suited for, and where it fits in this pack's progression, are also unconfirmed.
There are no quests in this pack that involve the mod, and it isn't on the ATM Star path. You won't be nudged toward it by the questbook, so any dragon hunting is entirely up to you.[1]
How do you get started with Ore Dragons?
2 parts
Same as in the All the Mods - Gravitas 4.0 guide
The sources for Ore Dragons in this pack confirm the Syringe and the Dragon Meal as craftable items. Both recipes use the Radiation Bottle, so that is the item your first steps revolve around. Here is the order I'd go in, and why.[2]
Make the Syringe first
The Syringe is an injection that makes you immune against Nuclear Radiation. It is the one item whose effect the sources here confirm, which is why it comes first.[3]

The pack changed this recipe, so don't rely on the mod's default.
Then the Dragon Meal
The Dragon Meal is the other Ore Dragons item with a confirmed in-pack recipe. The pack changed it too, so follow the recipe below rather than any mod default you remember.[2]

How does Ore Dragons work?
4 parts
The sources for Ore Dragons in this pack cover the dragons themselves: their stats, their breath attacks and the radiation injection tooltips. Everything below comes from the pack's config file, its recipe changes and the mod's tooltips.[3][4][5]
Dragon stats
Every dragon type has three config options in the pack: max health, attack damage and armor. Here are the values the pack sets for the dragons that are implemented, as health / attack damage / armor.[4]
- Coal dragon: 800 / 8.5 / 5 ([[config:config/oredragons-common.toml#Dragon Options.Coal Dragon Options.coalDragonMaxHealth]])[4]
- Copper dragon: 1,200 / 9 / 5.5 ([[config:config/oredragons-common.toml#Dragon Options.Copper Dragon Options.copperDragonMaxHealth]])[4]
- Iron dragon: 1,800 / 9.5 / 6 ([[config:config/oredragons-common.toml#Dragon Options.Iron Dragon Options.ironDragonMaxHealth]])[4]
- Gold dragon: 2,500 / 9.5 / 5.5 ([[config:config/oredragons-common.toml#Dragon Options.Gold Dragon Options.goldDragonMaxHealth]])[4]
- Diamond dragon: 3,500 / 11 / 7 ([[config:config/oredragons-common.toml#Dragon Options.Diamond Dragon Options.diamondDragonMaxHealth]])[4]
- Emerald dragon: 3,500 / 12 / 7.5 ([[config:config/oredragons-common.toml#Dragon Options.Emerald Dragon Options.emeraldDragonMaxHealth]])[4]
The config file also has entries for an Allthemodium dragon (10,000 health, 12 attack damage, 10 armor) and a Dracolich dragon (50,000 health, 25 attack damage, 20 armor). Both sections are labelled "Not implemented yet" in the file, so don't expect to meet them in the world.[4]
Breath attacks
Each breath type has its own config block. In this pack the damage option is set to 5 for the Acid, Disenchanting, Drain, Fire, Ice, Lightning, Radiation and Withering breaths. On top of that, most breaths have their own effect settings.[4]
- Fire: 5 seconds on fire ([[config:config/oredragons-common.toml#Breath Options.Fire Breath Options.fireBreathSecondsOnFire]]).[4]
- Ice: 2.5 seconds of freezing ([[config:config/oredragons-common.toml#Breath Options.Ice Breath Options.iceBreathSecondsFreeze]]).[4]
- Acid: amplifier 1 for 4 seconds ([[config:config/oredragons-common.toml#Breath Options.Acid Breath Options.acidBreathSecondsAcid]]).[4]
- Drain: amplifier 4 for 8 seconds ([[config:config/oredragons-common.toml#Breath Options.Drain Breath Options.drainBreathSecondsDrain]]).[4]
- Withering: amplifier 4 for 4 seconds ([[config:config/oredragons-common.toml#Breath Options.Withering Breath Options.witheringBreathSecondsWither]]).[4]
- Poison: amplifier 3 for 4 seconds, with a splash range of 4 ([[config:config/oredragons-common.toml#Breath Options.Poison Breath Options.poisonBreathSplashRange]]).[4]
- Radiation: amplifier 1 for 5 seconds, with a splash range of 4 ([[config:config/oredragons-common.toml#Breath Options.Radiation Breath Options.radiationBreathSplashRange]]).[4]
Radiation immunity
The mod's injection tooltips say it makes you immune to Nuclear Radiation. Once an injection has been used, it shows as already used. The immunity is lost when you die, so you have to inject again after a death.[3]
The pack has changed the recipe for the Syringe, so use this one rather than any mod default you may have seen elsewhere.[5]

How do you progress through Ore Dragons?
2 parts
Same as in the All the Mods - Gravitas 4.0 guide
The sources I have for Ore Dragons in this pack cover the recipes for Dragon Meal and Syringe. The pack has changed both, so don't rely on what you remember from the mod's default recipes.[2]
Dragon Meal
Dragon Meal is crafted with a shaped recipe that the pack has changed. The recipe below is the exact in-pack version.[2]
Crafting Shaped

This is the pack-changed recipe, and it uses Radiation Bottle.
Syringe
Syringe also has a shaped recipe that the pack has changed. Check the recipe below before you plan your materials.[2]

Unverified The sources here do not show any quest involving Ore Dragons, so I can't place the mod on the pack's quest path.
Which Ore Dragons config options matter?
4 parts
Everything here lives in one file, config/oredragons-common.toml. The values below are exactly what this pack ships. Before the lists, one caveat: the file only shows the pack's current values, not the mod's defaults, so I can't tell you which ones the pack changed.[4]
Unverified Which Ore Dragons values the pack changed from the mod defaults is unconfirmed, because no default values were available to compare against.
Where dragon caves spawn
Each dragon has a biome option and a dimension option. In this pack almost every dragon uses "*" for biomes, meaning every biome, and spawns in the Overworld. There are two exceptions you'll want to know about.[4]
- Netherite dragons are set to the Nether in [[config:config/oredragons-common.toml#Dragon Structure Options.Netherite Dragon Structure Options.netheriteDragonStructureDimensions]].[4]
- Obsidian dragons are limited to the mushroom_fields and badlands_plateau biomes in [[config:config/oredragons-common.toml#Dragon Structure Options.Obsidian Dragon Structure Options.obsidianDragonStructureBiomes]], in the Overworld.[4]
- If you can't find a cave, set [[config:config/oredragons-common.toml#Debug Options.printSpawnedDragonCavesConsole]] to true. It prints spawned dragon caves into the console. It is false in this pack.[4]
Cave loot and shell
- [[config:config/oredragons-common.toml#Structure Options.dragonCaveChestWeight]] is 80 here. The config notes that a higher value means fewer chests.[4]
- [[config:config/oredragons-common.toml#Structure Options.dragonCaveShellBlock]] is set to tfc:rock/bricks/granite, which is the extra shell block around caves. Leaving it empty removes the shell.[4]
Dragon health
Each dragon has max health, armor and attack damage options. Max health in this pack goes from weakest to toughest like this:[4]
- Coal 800, Copper 1,200, Iron 1,800 and Gold 2,500.[4]
- Redstone 2,700, Lapis 3,000, Diamond 3,500 and Emerald 3,500.[4]
- Obsidian 4,200 and Netherite 5,500. Netherite also hits hardest, with an attack damage of 14 in [[config:config/oredragons-common.toml#Dragon Options.Netherite Dragon Options.netheriteDragonAttackDamage]].[4]
The Allthemodium, Dracolich, Unobtainium and Vibranium dragon sections are labelled "Not implemented yet" in the config, so changing them won't do anything useful.[4]
Breath and effects
Most breath damage options are set to 5. That covers acid, disenchanting, drain, fire, ice, lightning, radiation and withering. A few effect options are worth a look if you want to tune the fights:[4]
- Fire breath sets you on fire for 5 seconds ([[config:config/oredragons-common.toml#Breath Options.Fire Breath Options.fireBreathSecondsOnFire]]), and ice breath freezes for 2.5 seconds ([[config:config/oredragons-common.toml#Breath Options.Ice Breath Options.iceBreathSecondsFreeze]]).[4]
- Drain breath applies an amplifier of 4 for 8 seconds, and the drain effect itself uses a drain amount of 5,000 ([[config:config/oredragons-common.toml#Effect Options.Drain Effect Options.drainEffectDrainAmount]]).[4]
- Withering breath uses an amplifier of 4 for 4 seconds ([[config:config/oredragons-common.toml#Breath Options.Withering Breath Options.witheringBreathWitherAmplifier]]).[4]
- Poison and radiation breath both have a splash range of 4. The radiation effect deals 10 damage ([[config:config/oredragons-common.toml#Effect Options.Radiation Effect Options.radiationEffectDamageAmount]]).[4]
- The acid effect deals 1.5 damage with a cooldown of 1 second ([[config:config/oredragons-common.toml#Effect Options.Acid Effect Options.acidEffectDamageAmount]]). Enchanted gear takes 2 and unenchanted gear takes 3.[4]
