What is Stellaris?

Same as in the FTB Evolution 2 1.1.0 guide

Stellaris is the space exploration mod in the pack. This pack ships Stellaris 2.0.7, and it has been included since version 1.0.2 or earlier.[1]

The mod adds a full space-exploration experience to Minecraft, where you can discover new planets, moons and galaxies. Here is what the mod's own description says it offers:[2]

  • Rocket crafting and launching: you build your own rocket with a component system, so you can upgrade and customize your spacecraft step by step.[2]
  • Planetary exploration: planets and moons each have their own environment and gravity level. Some have alien flora and fauna, others hold rare minerals and treasures.[2]
  • Advanced technology and machinery: advanced energy systems, machines for resource extraction and processing, and specialized tools for space survival and exploration.[2]
  • Aliens and hostile entities: you may meet alien species, and some are hostile and need a proper combat plan.[2]
  • Multiplayer: you can explore, build and cooperate with other players as a team.[2]
  • Customizable options: settings let you tune the difficulty and complexity of your space adventure.[2]
  • Datapack and addon support: new planets can be added with a datapack, and addons can add new features.[2]

Keep in mind that this list comes from the mod's own project page. It describes the mod in general, so any recipe or setting that this pack changes is not covered here.[2]

How do you get started with Stellaris?

6 parts

Stellaris is a space exploration mod: you build a rocket, leave the Overworld and land on the moon. The sources here don't spell out a strict order, but the mod's own advancements and the pack's recipes show a clear path to follow.[2][3]

What the advancements point you toward

  • Find some titanium ore.[3]
  • Craft the tablet, which the mod calls the galaxy's source of knowledge.[3]
  • Launch your first rocket.[3]
  • Land on the moon.[3]

Step 1: Get titanium

Titanium is the first metal the mod asks you to find. Titanium Ingots come from smelting or blasting in the furnace, and there are recipes for regular ore, deepslate ore, moon ore and raw titanium. Moon Titanium Ore exists too, so you will keep meeting this metal on the moon.[3][4]

One of the furnace routes to a Titanium Ingot. Blasting recipes exist for the same ores.

Step 2: Make fuel and breathing gas

The electrolyze recipe turns 10 water into 10 Hydrogen and 5 Oxygen. The mod also has Oxygen Distributor and Fuel Refinery blocks, so keep both gases in mind before you plan a trip.[3][4]

    Electrolyze (stellaris)

    Recipe id: stellaris:electrolyze

Water in, hydrogen and oxygen out.

    Step 3: Build the rocket

You craft your own rocket from a component system, so it can be upgraded and customised. In this pack the Rocket has its own recipe type, the rocket station, instead of a normal crafting grid.[2][4]

      The in-pack rocket recipe.

Other useful parts have their own recipes as well, such as the Antenna and the Autopilot Module.[4]

Step 4: Silicon and moon materials

Silicon is made by blending, and there are two blending recipes for it: one gives 3 Silicon and the other gives 2. Moon Stone Dust is also a blending product. Moon desh ore and novite ore are on the moon too, and Desh Ingot and Novite Ingot both have furnace recipes.[3][4]

        A pack change: Lunar Planks

The pack adds its own sawmill recipes from Productive Trees for Lunar Planks. Sawdust is the input: 2 sawdust make 6 planks. Separate recipes cover logs, stripped logs, wood and stripped wood.[4]

        Recipe id: allthemods:productivetrees/sawing/stellaris/lunar_planks

Added by the pack, not by the mod itself.

Tip: Building blocks like the Desh Pillar and the Iron Plating stairs and slabs are made in a stonecutter, so you don't need a crafting grid for decoration.[4]

        How does Stellaris work?

        5 parts

Stellaris is a space mod: you build rockets, travel to other worlds and run machinery for resource extraction and processing. The sources I have cover what machines and recipe types exist, but not the numbers behind power or fluid handling, so this section stays short and sticks to what is confirmed.[2]

        The machine and logistics blocks

The mod's language file lists these power and logistics blocks: Coal Generator, Diesel Generator, Solar Panel, Cable, Pipe, Tier 1 Power Bank and Tier 1 Fluid Tank.[3]

The processing and space blocks listed are the Electrolyzer, Blender, Fuel Refinery, Pumpjack, Water Pump, Oxygen Distributor, Oxygen Propagator, Vacuumator, Gravity Manipulator, Rocket Launch Pad, Engineering Station, Laboratory, Cargo Unloader and Space Farm.[3]

        Machine recipes

Not everything is made at a crafting table. The pack's recipe dump shows the mod using its own recipe types: electrolyze, blending, rocket_station and vaccine.[4]

        Recipe id: stellaris:electrolyze

Electrolysis turns 10 water into 10 Hydrogen and 5 Oxygen.

The Rocket uses its own rocket_station recipe type.

                VaccineMod recipe

                Vaccine (stellaris)

                  Recipe id: stellaris:vaccine

The Vaccine has its own recipe type too.

Smelting and the pack's sawmill recipes

Desh Ingot can be made by smelting or blasting, from either the ore or the raw form. Novite Ingot has a blasting recipe from raw novite.[4]

The pack adds its own sawmill recipes for Lunar Planks through Productive Trees. There are three of them, and each turns 2 Sawdust into 6 Lunar Planks.[4]

6× Lunar PlanksAdded by the pack

                  Sawmill (productivetrees)

                  Recipe id: allthemods:productivetrees/sawing/stellaris/lunar_planks

Added by the pack: 2 Sawdust make 6 Lunar Planks.

                  Oil, oxygen and the planets

Oil is a real fluid block in the mod. Oil lakes are a worldgen feature, and oil well structures can generate in ocean, deep ocean and swamp biomes. The language file also has a Pumpjack block and an "Oil Level" command message.[3][5][6]

Oxygen and Hydrogen exist as items and as fluid blocks. Planets are tracked with a planet info command that reports dimension, gravity, day and night temperature, whether the planet has oxygen and whether a space station is allowed.[3]

The space dimension is empty on purpose. Its terrain is all air, mob generation is disabled, and its height range is 0 to 256.[7]

                  Moon dangers and ores

The moon biomes have no built-in mob lists. Mobs are added by biome modifiers instead. Lunar parasites spawn across all moon biomes with weight 42, in groups of 1 to 3.[8][9][10]

The mod has infection commands that show your stage and whether you are immunised, and an advancement for getting sucked by a lunar parasite.[3]

Titanium ore generates in the Overworld in veins of size 8. On the moon, Moon Desh Ore generates in veins of size 8, Moon Iron Ore in veins of size 12 and Moon Titanium Ore in veins of size 8.[11][12][13][14][15]

Unverified Power generation and storage numbers, cable and pipe transfer rates, how the larger machines are laid out, and how oxygen spreads are not shown in the sources here. The mod has no config files in this pack. Its own in-game Wiki application is the place to look for those details.

How do you progress through Stellaris?

                  3 parts

Stellaris adds its own materials, machines and building blocks, and this pack's recipe list shows how they connect. Below I've grouped what the recipes confirm by what each one does, starting with the metals.[4]

                  Metals and moon materials

                  • Titanium Ingot can be smelted or blasted from titanium ore, deepslate ore, moon ore or raw titanium. That gives you four inputs in a furnace or blast furnace.[4]
                  • Desh Ingot can be smelted or blasted from desh ore or raw desh. A shapeless recipe also turns a desh block back into 9 ingots.[4]
                  • Novite Ingot has smelting and blasting recipes that start from raw novite only.[4]
                  • Moon Stone and Moon Cracked Stone Bricks both come from furnace smelting recipes.[4]
                  • Moon Stone Dust is made in Stellaris' blending machine. Blending also makes Silicon: 3 per craft from the main recipe, or 2 per craft using moon stone dust.[4]

                  Machines and crafted parts

Electrolysis is its own recipe type in this mod. It turns water into the gases Hydrogen and Oxygen.[4]

                  Electrolyze (stellaris)

                  Recipe id: stellaris:electrolyze

One craft makes 10 hydrogen and 5 oxygen.

The Rocket is made at a rocket station, and the Vaccine has its own vaccine recipe type. Both are listed in the pack's recipes.[4]

                      Building blocks and wood

Most of the decorative blocks come from the stonecutter. That includes the moon stone, desh, iron plating and casus astrum families, such as Moon Stone Bricks, Desh Pillar, Iron Plating Stairs and Casus Astrum Stone Slab. Slab recipes give 2 slabs per cut.[4]

This pack also adds sawmill recipes from Productive Trees for Lunar Planks. There are four variants, using plain or stripped logs and wood, and each one makes 6 planks per craft.[4]

6× Lunar PlanksAdded by the pack

                      Sawmill (productivetrees)

Added by the pack, not by Stellaris itself.

Stellaris also has a large set of coloured cans. Each colour has a big version, such as Big Blue Can, and recolour recipes let you switch between colours.[4]

How does Stellaris work with other mods?

                      1 part

The only link between Stellaris and another mod that this pack's recipes confirm is with Productive Trees. The pack adds sawmill recipes that produce Lunar Planks, the planks of Stellaris' lunar wood, using Productive Trees' sawmill.[4]

Lunar Planks from the Productive Trees sawmill

Each of these sawmill recipes makes 6 Lunar Planks per craft. They are named after the kinds of lunar wood they cover: plain planks, stripped log, stripped wood and wood. Stellaris groups its lunar log, lunar wood, stripped lunar log and stripped lunar wood together in its own lunar logs tag, which lines up with those recipe names.[4][16][17]

Tip: If you are building with lunar wood and have a Productive Trees sawmill set up, look these recipes up in your recipe viewer. They are the pack's own addition for getting Lunar Planks.[4]

What changed in Stellaris between versions?

                      1 part

All the Mods 11 0.12.0-beta ships Stellaris 2.0.7, built for Minecraft 26.1.2 on NeoForge. The pack file says this version was first included in 0.12.0-beta or earlier, so the exact release that added it is not shown here.[18]

                      Stellaris 2.0.7

This is the only mod changelog the sources cover, so it is the one you get in this pack. Here is what changed:[19]

                      • Trophies now play an animation when you right-click them.[19]
                      • The research tab now shows the success chance.[19]
                      • The potentials dependency was bumped to 0.11.0.[19]
                      • The oil finder module recipe was changed. The changelog does not say what the new recipe is.[19]

There is also one fix: research success chances were showing 1% too high, and that is corrected in this version.[19]

Unverified The sources here include no pack changelog entries for Stellaris, so any change the pack itself made to this mod between releases is not shown.
