What is More Red?

Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.12 guide

More Red is included in this pack at version 6.0.0.3, built for Minecraft 1.21.1 (the jar is morered-1.21.1-6.0.0.3.jar). It has been part of the pack since version 0.32 or earlier, so it's a long-standing member of the mod list.[1]

Unverified The sources I have don't describe what More Red adds, who it suits, or its recipes, configs and mechanics in this pack. I'm not guessing at those. The pack's mod list is the only confirmed information so far.

Unverified I found no quests in this pack that involve More Red, and the mod doesn't appear on the ATM Star path. No platform page or in-jar guidebook was available to confirm either point or to say where the mod fits in progression.

How do you get started with More Red?

5 parts

More Red is a wiring mod, and its own advancement tree makes a handy roadmap for your first steps. The tree opens with the line "There's a lot of redstone in your pockets". The order below follows those advancements.[2]

Start with Red Alloy Wire

Everything begins here. The first crafting advancement is about turning copper and redstone into Red Alloy Ingots and then crafting those into Red Alloy Wires. You need those wires for the colored cables in the next step.[2]

Colored cables and the Bundled Cable

Next you make colored cables from wool and Red Alloy Wires. The pack has a recipe for each cable color, for example the Blue Cable. Then you combine colored cables into a Bundled Cable, which is the next advancement in the chain.[2][3]

Tubes

The mod also has an advancement for crafting a Tube from copper and glass. In this pack, the tubes in the recipe list come in a copper version and a gold version. Here are both versions of the Black Tube.[2][3]

Bigger projects

The last advancements point you further along: crafting a Soldering Table from Blaze Rods, Red Nether Bricks and Stone Plates, and crafting a Windcatcher from an Axle, Sticks and Wool. The pack has axles for each wood type, such as the Oak Axle.[2][3]

How does More Red work?

5 parts

The sources for More Red in this pack are thin: they cover the order the mod expects you to progress in and which crafting recipes the pack includes. They don't describe how the machines behave once placed, so this section stays short and sticks to what is confirmed.[2][3]

The intended progression

The mod's advancements lay out a path. You start by crafting Red Alloy Ingots and then Red Alloy Wires. From there you craft colored cables, then a bundled cable made from colored cables. Other advancements cover crafting a tube, a Soldering Table, a mechanism and a Windcatcher.[2]

Cables and bundled cables

Colored cables come in several colors, for example Black Cable, Blue Cable and Green Cable. The mod's own advancement text says a Bundled Cable is crafted from colored cables.[2][3]

The pack also has recipes for a Bundled Cable Spool, a Cable Junction and a Cable Relay. The sources list these recipes but don't explain what each one does in play.[3]

Mechanisms

The mod's advancement text counts the Alternator, the Extractor and the Stonemill as mechanisms. The pack also has recipes for signal and logic parts: AND Gate, Diode, Distributor and Filter.[2][3]

Tubes

Tubes come in colors that match the cables, for example Black Tube, Cyan Tube and Gray Tube. In this pack each of these tubes has a recipe labeled as made from copper and a separate one labeled as made from gold.[3]

Axles, gears and clutches

The pack has wood-themed axles, gears, gearshifters and clutches, such as Birch Axle, Cherry Gear, Crimson Gearshifter and Acacia Clutch. The mod's advancements also include a Windcatcher.[2][3]

Unverified How signal strength and power transfer work, and what the Alternator, Extractor, Stonemill, Windcatcher, gears, axles and clutches actually do, is not shown in the sources here. No in-jar guidebook was found for this mod and there are no config files for it in the pack, so check these details in-game.

How do you progress through More Red?

2 parts

This section is short on purpose. The recipe list for More Red in this pack doesn't show ingredients, so I can't give you a verified tier-by-tier order. What I can show you is which items have crafting recipes and how they group.[3]

What the pack's recipe list shows

The More Red items shown in the list are all crafted in the crafting grid. Red Alloy Ingot is a shapeless recipe, while Red Alloy Wire is shaped. The Soldering Table and Pliers also have their own crafting recipes.[3]

Groups of items you can craft

Unverified The sources here show no pack quests for More Red and no in-pack guidebook for it, so an intended progression order between these items is not confirmed.
