What is Item Collectors?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
Item Collectors adds collector blocks that pull in dropped items within a set range and put them straight into storage. If you're tired of chasing item drops around your farms or base, this mod is for you. It's a small, simple utility mod, and that's its charm.[1]
This pack includes Item Collectors 1.1.10 for NeoForge on Minecraft 1.21.[2]
The two collectors
- The Basic Item Collector has a range of up to 5 blocks. Right-click it to open its GUI.[1]
- The Advanced Item Collector reaches up to 7 blocks, opens its GUI the same way, and can also filter items. Items can be whitelisted or blacklisted.[1]
How it works
- Place the block you want the items to go into, such as a chest.[1]
- Place the Item Collector on top of it. Collected items go into the block directly below the collector.[1]
- Right-click the collector and use the arrow buttons to set the range separately for the x, y and z axes.[1]
Where it fits in the pack
Unverified The sources I have don't show where Item Collectors fits in this pack's progression. It isn't on the ATM Star path, and no quests involve it. I also can't confirm whether the pack changes the recipes or the 5 and 7 block ranges from the mod's own project page, so check the recipes in-game. This site does hold All the Mods 11's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
How do you get started with Item Collectors?
3 parts
Item Collectors adds two blocks, and both pick up items lying in an area around themselves. Here is the order I'd make them in.[1][3]
Start with the Basic Collector
Start with the Basic Collector. It picks up items in an area around itself, and the mod's project page lists a range of up to 5 blocks. The recipe below is the exact in-pack version.[1][3][4]
Crafting Shaped
| Empty slot | any ender pearl | Empty slot |
| Empty slot | any obsidian | Empty slot |
| any obsidian | any obsidian | any obsidian |
Recipe id: itemcollectors:basic_collector
The Basic Collector, the one without a filter.
Place it and set it up
- Place the block you want the items to go into.[1]
- Place the collector on top of that block. Collected items go into the block directly below the collector.[1]
- Right-click the collector to open its screen. Use the arrow buttons (Increase Range and Decrease Range) to set the range separately for the x, y and z axes.[1][3]
There is no cap on how many items get collected: the collectors instantly grab everything in range.[1]
Upgrade to the Advanced Collector when you need a filter
If the Basic Collector picks up things you don't want, make the Advanced Collector. The project page lists a range of up to 7 blocks, and this one can filter the items it picks up.[1][3][4]
Crafting Shaped
| Empty slot | Ender Eye | Empty slot |
| Empty slot | Empty slot | |
| any obsidian | any obsidian | any obsidian |
Recipe id: itemcollectors:advanced_collector
The Advanced Collector, the one with a filter.
Right-click it to open its screen. There you can switch the filter between Whitelist and Blacklist, and choose whether it should Match NBT or Ignore NBT. You can also toggle Range Shown or Range Hidden, which is useful for checking that the area covers what you want.[1][3]
How does Item Collectors work?
4 parts
Item Collectors keeps things simple. A collector picks up items lying in an area around itself and puts them into a container. There is no power, fluid or multiblock setup to worry about. The sources here only cover how you place a collector, how you set its range, and how the filter works.[1][3]
The two collectors
- Basic Collector picks up items in an area around itself. Its range goes up to 5 blocks, according to the mod's project page.[1][3]
- Advanced Collector does the same, but its range goes up to 7 blocks and it can filter which items it picks up.[1][3]
Crafting Shaped
| Empty slot | any ender pearl | Empty slot |
| Empty slot | any obsidian | Empty slot |
| any obsidian | any obsidian | any obsidian |
Recipe id: itemcollectors:basic_collector
The Basic Collector uses the mod's own shaped crafting recipe.
Crafting Shaped
| Empty slot | Ender Eye | Empty slot |
| Empty slot | Empty slot | |
| any obsidian | any obsidian | any obsidian |
Recipe id: itemcollectors:advanced_collector
The Advanced Collector also uses the mod's own shaped crafting recipe.
Placing a collector
Collected items go into the block directly below the collector. So the collector needs to sit right on top of your chest or other container.[1]
The project page says there is no limit on how many items get collected. A collector instantly collects everything in its range.[1]
Setting the range
Right-click a collector to open its screen. Use the arrow buttons there to change the range on the x, y and z axes separately. The screen shows the current range as three numbers, and the buttons are labelled Increase Range and Decrease Range.[1][3]
The Advanced Collector's screen also has a toggle that switches between Range Shown and Range Hidden. Turn it on when you want to see the area the collector covers.[3]
Filtering with the Advanced Collector
Only the Advanced Collector has a filter. Its screen has a filter section and a toggle that switches between Whitelist and Blacklist mode. The project page says items can be whitelisted or blacklisted.[1][3]
There is also a toggle between Match NBT and Ignore NBT. It controls whether item data is compared when the filter checks an item.[3]
How do you progress through Item Collectors?
2 parts
Item Collectors (Item Collectors) gives you the Basic Collector and the Advanced Collector. Each has its own crafting recipe in the pack.[4]
Basic Collector
Crafting Shaped
| Empty slot | any ender pearl | Empty slot |
| Empty slot | any obsidian | Empty slot |
| any obsidian | any obsidian | any obsidian |
Recipe id: itemcollectors:basic_collector
A shaped crafting recipe that comes from the mod itself.
Advanced Collector
Crafting Shaped
| Empty slot | Ender Eye | Empty slot |
| Empty slot | Empty slot | |
| any obsidian | any obsidian | any obsidian |
Recipe id: itemcollectors:advanced_collector
Also a shaped crafting recipe from the mod itself.
Both recipes are listed as the mod's own recipes, so the sources here show no pack change to either one. The recipe blocks above display the exact in-pack ingredients and layout.[4]
Unverified Which quest chapter, if any, leads you to these collectors is not shown in the sources here, so check the pack's quest book for where they fit in your progression.
What changed in Item Collectors between versions?
1 part
All the Mods 11 0.8.0-beta ships Item Collectors 1.1.12+a, built for Minecraft 26.1. The mod has been in the pack since All the Mods 11 0.2.1 or earlier, so you've had it for most of the pack's life.[5]
Mod changelog
- 1.1.11: the initial release of Item Collectors for Minecraft 1.21.11.[6]
- 1.1.12: updated the Brazilian Portuguese translations, and fixed changes to item filters not always getting saved. If you ever set up a filter and found it didn't stick, this is the fix.[6]
- 1.1.12a: fixed a crash on dedicated servers. This is the version in the pack right now.[6]
The mod's changelog also has an "Update to Minecraft 26.1" heading placed alongside the 1.1.12 releases, which matches the Minecraft 26.1 jar the pack uses.[5][6]
