What is Iron's Lib?

2 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

Iron's Lib is a library mod. Its job is to provide common functionality and content for Iron's mods, so it's mostly a foundation that other mods build on rather than something you play with directly.[1]

Under the hood it adds reusable frameworks for those mods, plus a Patreon Integration API layer. If you're curious what it brings to the table, here's what it currently supports:[1]

  • A Transmog Table block and an Armor Transmog Framework.[1]
  • Player Statue blocks, along with Player Statue asset generation and structure generation tools.[1]
  • A Decorative Statue Framework for creating dynamic multiblocks and rendering baked statue models.[1]
  • Patreon Integration support for all of the above.[1]

Version in the pack

This pack ships Iron's Lib 1.21.1-2.1.0. It was already included in an earlier release (6.4 or before), so it's a long-standing part of the modlist.[2]

Where it fits in progression

Unverified No quests in this pack involve Iron's Lib, it isn't on the ATM Star path, and no in-jar guidebook was found for it. Nothing here confirms it as a progression step, so treat it as a supporting library.

How do you get started with Iron's Lib?

3 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 11 0.8.0-beta guide

Iron's Lib is mostly a library mod. It provides shared frameworks for Iron's other mods plus a Patreon integration layer. The only recipe in this pack that makes an Iron's Lib item is the Patreon Transmog Table, so that is where you start.[1][3]

First, craft the Patreon Transmog Table

The Transmog Table block is the main hands-on feature of the library, and an Armor Transmog Framework sits behind it. Here is the in-pack recipe:[1]

Crafting Shaped

Crafting Shaped
Gold Ingot
Smithing Table

Recipe id: irons_lib:transmog_table

This is the pack's own recipe for the table.

Watch out: Transmog options are tied to Patreon status. The mod's text shows a requirement line saying an option needs a certain Patreon Status, and a failure message reading "Missing transmog permissions" when you don't have it. Some options may be locked for you.[4]

Next, look at the Patreon Statue

The library also adds Player Statue blocks, shown in game as the Patreon Statue. The mod's own hints say to use a nametag of a Patron to set the player, and to crouch-click to edit the pose. The pose list includes Applause, Archery, Ballet, Waving and Zombie, among others.[1][4]

What else it adds

The mod also defines these attributes: Armor Pierce, Arrow Damage, Critical Damage, Dodge Chance, Experience Gained, Healing Received and Mining Speed.[4]

How does Iron's Lib work?

3 parts

Iron's Lib is a library mod. It provides shared frameworks for Iron's other mods plus a Patreon Integration API layer. It is not a tech mod, so this section covers the few things it adds that you can actually use or place.[1]

Patreon Transmog Table

The Patreon Transmog Table is the block behind the mod's Armor Transmog Framework. When you hover over a transmog option, the tooltip title reads "Patreon Transmog" followed by the option's name. Some options show a line saying they require a certain Patreon Status. If you don't have the permissions, you get a "Missing transmog permissions" message.[1][5]

Breaking the table drops the table itself, with no extra conditions in its loot table.[6]

Patreon Statue

The Patreon Statue is a player statue block. The mod also includes player statue asset generation and structure generation tools, which are mainly for the mod author's own use.[1][5]

  1. Use a nametag of a Patron on the statue to set which player it shows. Until you do, it displays as "Unset".[5]
  2. Crouch-click the statue to edit its pose.[5]
  3. Click to set the pose you want. The list includes Applause, Archery, Ballet, Kneeling, Sitting, Waving and Zombie, among others.[5]

The statue is built on the mod's Decorative Statue Framework, which creates dynamic multiblocks and renders baked statue models. This is why the statue's loot table checks block state offsets. Only the part with x, y and z offsets all at 0 drops the statue item, and it carries the statue's item data over from the block entity.[1][8]

Extra attributes

The mod's language file also defines a set of player attributes. Other mods and items can use them. These are the ones described there:[5]

  • Armor Pierce: bypasses a set number of enemy armor points.[5]
  • Arrow Damage: a percentage increase to arrow-like projectiles.[5]
  • Projectile Damage: a percentage increase to all projectile damage.[5]
  • Critical Damage: a percentage increase to the critical hit multiplier.[5]
  • Dodge Chance: a percent chance to negate incoming damage, with a flair.[5]
  • Healing Received: a percentage increase to healing received.[5]
  • Mining Speed: a percentage increase to mining speed.[5]
  • Experience Gained: a percentage increase to experience dropped from mobs and blocks.[5]

How do you progress through Iron's Lib?

2 parts

There is no tier ladder to climb for Iron's Lib in this pack. The sources I have show no tiers for the mod, so I won't invent a progression path. What they do show is a small set of blocks you can craft or pick up.[6][7][8]

Patreon Transmog Table

The one craftable item from Iron's Lib in the recipe dump is the Patreon Transmog Table. It uses a shaped crafting recipe that comes from the mod itself, and the pack has not changed it. The dump lists no item inputs for it, so check the recipe below on the site.[7]

Crafting Shaped

Crafting Shaped
Gold Ingot
Smithing Table

Recipe id: irons_lib:transmog_table

The in-pack shaped crafting recipe for the table.

When you break the table, it drops itself with no extra conditions, so you can pick it up and move it.[6]

Player Statue drops

The mod's Patreon Statue block has its own loot table. The statue only drops when you break the part of it whose x, y and z offsets are all 0. The dropped item keeps the statue's item data from the block.[8]

Unverified The quest sources here do not show any quest involving this mod, and it is not placed on the quest path, so the pack's quest book sets no order or unlock steps for it. The crafting recipe for the Patreon Transmog Table is the only recipe the sources show.

What changed in Iron's Lib between versions?

2 parts

All the Mods 11 0.10.0-beta ships Iron's Lib 26.1.2-2.2.0. The mod has been in the pack since All the Mods 11 0.1.2 or earlier. Here are the notable changes from the mod's own changelogs.[9]

2.2.0: what's new

  • Custom kinetic weapon animations. A stack with vanilla's kinetic_weapon component can name a client KineticAnimation through the irons_lib:kinetic_animation component, and that animation plays in place of the spear animation.[10]
  • Soul Fire burning visuals, accessible through SoulFireHelper. An entity can be marked as next-burn-soul so it ignites blue. The mark resets on other fire applications or on burnout, and it is visual only.[10]
  • A Projectile Damage attribute that affects all projectiles, not just arrows. The arrow damage attribute is untouched.[10]

2.1.0.3: bug fix

Before 2.2.0, version 2.1.0.3 fixed the attribute event handler, which was always attempting to modify damage.[11]
