What is EvilCraft?
This pack ships EvilCraft version 1.2.104, using the NeoForge build of the mod (the file is evilcraft-26.1.2-neoforge-1.2.104.jar). It was already in the pack by 0.8.0-beta, and the pack data doesn't show it being added in any later version.[1]
Unverified The sources I have don't describe what EvilCraft does in this pack, who it suits best, or where it fits in progression. There is no guidebook text, no recipe or config data and no quest data for it, so I'm not guessing at mechanics, recipes or values. Nothing confirms that it sits on the ATM Star path either.
For now, treat this page as a confirmation that EvilCraft is installed, and check the in-game item and recipe viewer for what it adds in your world. Once recipe, config or quest data is available, this overview can be expanded with the pack's actual values.[1]
How do you get started with EvilCraft?
5 parts
This section starts with two of EvilCraft's advancements, "First Age" and "Second Age", then moves on to the Dark Tank, the spike and the gemstone torch.[2]
Step 1: Get Dark Gems
The first advancement, "First Age", asks you to discover the origins of the first evil age by mining some Dark Gem. The pack also has a crafting recipe for it, shown below.[2][3]
The pack's shapeless crafting recipe for the Dark Gem.
Step 2: Craft a Blood Extractor
Next is the "Second Age" advancement, which you initiate by crafting a Blood Extractor.[2]

Step 3: Make a Dark Tank
The Dark Tank is a container for fluids. The mod's in-game book says you can place it or hold it in your inventory, and that it looks like it can hold about sixteen buckets. Right-click a placed tank to let it auto-fill containers underneath it. Shift + right-click with the tank in hand, not aiming at a block, makes it try to fill any container you are holding.[2][3]
Step 4: Spikes and torches
According to the in-game book, the Spike is made from a Dark Gem and a piece of iron. It is very sharp and durable, and mobs don't seem to like it.[2]
The Gemstone Torch blocks Vengeance Spirit spawning in a radius of 15 blocks.[2][3]

What to skip and what comes later
Dull Dust is craftable, but the mod's book calls it a weird dust that doesn't seem very useful at the moment, so you can leave it for later.[2][3]
When you're ready for something bigger, the "Power Crafting" advancement asks you to craft an Exalted Crafter.[2]

How does EvilCraft work?
5 parts
This section covers the EvilCraft machines and systems that the mod's own descriptions and in-game book explain, plus the pack's recipe list. Everything is worded the way those texts currently describe it, and the sources show nothing beyond that.[2][3]
Fluid handling: Dark Tanks and Entangled Chalices
The Dark Tank holds fluids and can be placed in the world or carried in your inventory. Right-click a placed tank and it gets a purple-ish glow. It then opens a hole at the bottom that automatically fills tanks, item containers and players carrying containers underneath it.[2]
There is a second mode for the tank in your hand. Shift + right-click while not aiming at a block, and it tries to fill any container you are holding that can accept the fluid.[2]
The mod's book says a tank looks like it can hold about sixteen buckets. To go bigger, it says you can put several tanks into a crafting grid together, and no fluids seem to be lost in the process.[2]
The mod describes the Entangled Chalice differently: the contents of entangled chalices are omnipresent, and Shift + right-click gives you omni-supply.[2]
Unverified The sources here show no EvilCraft config files for this pack, so it is unconfirmed whether tank capacities or other values differ from the mod's own descriptions above.
The Environmental Accumulator and Biome Extracts
The mod's description says the Environmental Accumulator is found at Dark Temples and is not craftable. A craftable version exists, the Sanguinary Environmental Accumulator. When its setup is invalid, it reports that tanks with Blood are required at specific locations.[2]
According to the mod's book, one of the accumulator's abilities is accepting Biome Extract Bottle bottles and filling them with the biome the machine is currently placed in. Thrown on the ground, a filled bottle transforms that area to the given biome. The book warns that the accumulator will degrade its biome over time, so the bottles coming out of it will become pretty useless.[2]
The book wonders if there is an alternative way to craft Biome Extracts without those bad effects, and this pack has a crafting recipe for the bottle:[2][3]

Collecting blood
Blood Stains are splashes of blood created when an entity falls to death. The Sanguinary Pedestal drains blood from stains in the area, and the second tier drains more. The Spiked Plate damages mobs, and the mod says to place it on a pedestal to drain blood.[2]
The book describes a few traits of the Spiked Plate. The power of the Dark Gem seems to ensure that mobs killed on it drop the same things as when killed by a player. It also gives off a redstone signal when a mob is taking damage, which the book offers as a convenience.[2]
The mod describes Hardened Blood as dried blood that liquifies with rain or by breaking it.[2]
The mod's advancement for crafting a Blood Extractor describes it as initiating the second evil age.[2]
Vengeance Spirits
According to the mod's advancement text, you capture a Vengeance Spirit by using a Vengeance Focus to put it in a Box of Eternal Closure. Two machines are described for working with spirits: the Spirit Furnace cooks Vengeance Spirits to obtain their drops, and the Spirit Reanimator revives them.[2]
- The Spirit Furnace can show the message "No more space for drops", so keep room for its output.[2]
- The Spirit Reanimator can report that the box is invalid, empty or missing, that no spawn egg is available for the mob, or that you should remove the different mob eggs.[2]
Storage and crafting helpers
The Display Stand showcases items and blocks, supports any wood type, and can be placed in any rotation. You can pipe items in and out from the top or bottom. Interaction from the other sides is delegated to the displayed item, so you can reach its inventory, fluids and energy.[2]
The Exalted Crafter lets you craft from within your inventory. Attach a chest for an internal inventory; an Ender Chest also works. It can be bound to a hotkey: pressing that key while the GUI is open clears your inventory, and pressing it with Shift balances the items in the grid. A toggle button chooses whether shift-removed items go to the inner inventory or your player inventory. Striking it with lightning keeps it from being destroyed or disappearing when dropped.[2]
How do you progress through EvilCraft?
2 parts
This is a short section, and that's on purpose. For this pack I can only confirm which EvilCraft items have crafting recipes. The recipe dump doesn't show what goes into them, so I can't honestly tell you which item comes before which. I won't guess at a tier order.[3]
What the pack does confirm is that the core machines and tools are all craftable. That includes the Blood Infuser, the Blood Extractor, the Spirit Furnace, the Sanguinary Environmental Acc. and the Purifier. The dark materials are craftable too, such as the Dark Gem, the Dark Power Gem and the Dark Brick.[3]
A tier ladder you can see in the item names
The one clear tier ladder in the recipes is the Promise of Tenacity line. Promise of Tenacity I, Promise of Tenacity II and Promise of Tenacity III each have their own crafting recipe. Promise of Productivity and Promise of Velocity are also craftable. Here are the three Tenacity recipes as the pack defines them.[3]

Storage and blood-related gear
There are also two chest tiers in the recipe list: the Blood Chest and the Colossal Blood Chest. The Blood Infuser is the machine to look at first if you want to see how the pack handles blood-based crafting.[3]

Unverified I couldn't confirm any quests for EvilCraft in this pack, any guidebook entries, or a recommended order for the machines, tools and armor. Treat the order you unlock things in as unverified until it's tested in-game.
How does EvilCraft work with other mods?
2 parts
EvilCraft links up with Productive Trees and Productive Bees in this pack. Every connection below comes from an in-pack recipe.[3]
Productive Trees: Undead Planks from sawdust
The pack adds its own Productive Trees sawmill recipe that turns Sawdust into Undead Planks. This one is added by the pack, so it is not a default mod recipe.[3]
Sawmill (productivetrees)
Recipe id: allthemods:productivetrees/sawing/evilcraft/crafting/undead_planks
Added by the pack and processed in the Productive Trees sawmill.
Productive Bees: Dark Gem
Productive Bees has a bee conversion recipe that takes a Dark Block and produces the Productive Bees Dark Gem entry. It is a regular mod recipe, not a pack change.[3]
Bee Conversion (productivebees)
Recipe id: productivebees:bee_conversion/evilcraft/dark_gem_bee
Regular Productive Bees conversion recipe, starting from a Dark Block.
There is also a Productive Bees centrifuge recipe that outputs Dark Gem, Crushed Dark Gem and Wax. This is a regular mod recipe too, and the recipe dump lists no item inputs for it.[3]
