What is Euphoria Patches?

2 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

Euphoria Patches is an add-on for Complementary Shaders, covering both the Reimagined and Unbound versions. It adds more optional features and settings on top of the shader. It is developed by SpacEagle17.[1]

It is a visual add-on, so it is for you if you run Complementary and like to tweak how it looks. If you don't use those shaders, there is nothing here for you to set up.[1]

How it works

Every option the add-on adds is disabled by default, so nothing changes until you turn a feature on. You can enable options one at a time. There is also a Popular Settings tab and a preset profile that apply the commonly used options quickly.[1]

In this pack

The pack includes Euphoria Patches 1.9.3-r5.8.1 for NeoForge, shipped as the file EuphoriaPatcher-1.9.3-r5.8.1-neoforge.jar. It was first included in version 2.25 or earlier of the pack.[2]

Watch out: If you hit a bug while using this add-on, don't report it to Emin, the developer of Complementary Shaders. The project page says to use the add-on's own contact channels instead.[1]

Unverified The sources do not show any pack quests, progression gates or ATM Star path steps involving this mod, so it is not confirmed to play any part in the pack's progression. The sources also don't say whether the pack ships a Complementary shader pack for you, so check that you have one installed.

How do you get started with Euphoria Patches?

1 part

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

Good news: Euphoria Patches isn't a mod where you craft a starter tool or build a machine first. It's an add-on for Complementary Shaders, so your first steps happen in the shader settings, not in the crafting grid.[1]

It works with the Reimagined and Unbound versions of Complementary Shaders. It adds optional handcrafted features and settings on top of them.[1]

Your first steps

  1. Make sure you're using one of the Complementary Shaders, either Reimagined or Unbound. Euphoria Patches extends those shaders.[1]
  2. Open the shader settings and look for the Euphoria Patches options. Every option is disabled by default, so nothing changes until you turn something on.[1]
  3. Start with the Popular Settings tab. It collects the commonly used options in one place.[1]
  4. If you'd rather not toggle things one by one, apply the preset profile. It switches on a set of commonly used options for you.[1]
  5. Turn on other options individually as you find ones you like, since each can be enabled on its own.[1]
Tip: Because everything starts disabled, it's easy to tell what Euphoria Patches is doing. Enable one option at a time and compare.[1]
Watch out: The project page asks you not to report bugs you find while using this add-on to Emin, the developer of Complementary Shaders. Use the contact details on the Euphoria Patches project page instead.[1]

Unverified I couldn't confirm any in-pack recipes, items or quests for Euphoria Patches, so there are no recipe blocks here. The exact setting names and where they sit in this pack's shader menu are also unconfirmed.

How does Euphoria Patches work?

2 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

This one is different from most mods you'll see on the channel. Euphoria Patches has no machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or item automation. It's an add-on for Complementary Shaders (the Reimagined and Unbound versions), so everything it does is about how your shader looks and which shader options you can turn on.[1]

How the add-on works

Euphoria Patches expands Complementary Shaders with optional handcrafted features. You get extra settings on top of the ones the shader already has.[1]

Every option is disabled by default. Nothing changes in your game until you switch on the features you want, and you can enable them one at a time.[1]

Tip: If you don't want to go through every option, use the "Popular Settings" tab or the preset profile. Both are there to apply commonly used options quickly.[1]

Modded block support and translations

The project page says modded blocks and translation files can be added to Euphoria Patches. It points to the project's own website for how to do that, so check there if a modded block doesn't look right with the shader.[1]

Watch out: The project page asks you not to report bugs from this add-on to Emin, the developer of Complementary Shaders. Use the add-on's own contact options instead.[1]

Unverified The sources don't say which Euphoria Patches options this pack enables, or whether it ships a preset. They also don't describe the individual settings in detail. Check the in-game shader settings screen to see what's available in your version.

What changed in Euphoria Patches between versions?

3 parts

All the Mods 11 0.8.0-beta ships Euphoria Patches 1.10.0-r5.9-neoforge, and it has been in the pack since 0.0.9 or earlier. Below are the notable changes from the mod's own changelogs, newest first. The full list lives on the mod's own changelog page, so this is just the highlights.[3]

1.10.0 (with Complementary Shaders r5.9)

This is the version your pack uses. It is a big feature update.[3][4]

  • A Black Hole in the End, with fully customizable parameters.[4]
  • An End Nebula with lots of tweakable options, based on the one from Supplemental Patches.[4]
  • A new Improved LabPBR option, so reflections and metals behave as the resource pack creator intended. Refraction, porosity and texture AO support were added too.[4]
  • WindLink support, which syncs foliage, weather, particles and more to a single wind system.[4]
  • Uniform uploading support in the mod, which works on Iris/Oculus and even OptiFine.[4]
  • Screenshot steganography: your shader settings are hidden invisibly in the screenshot's PNG pixels. You can drag and drop a screenshot into an Iris GUI in-game to import those settings.[4]
  • Support for the dragon_death_rays entity ID through the Euphoria Patcher mod.[4]

1.9.0 changes (in releases 1.9.2 and 1.9.3, Complementary Shaders r5.8.1)

The 1.9.2 and 1.9.3 releases are small bugfix updates. The real changes came in 1.9.0.[5][6]

  • Photonics support, enabling real-time blocklight shadows and global illumination. It requires Photonics 0.3+.[5][6]
  • A new Pixelated Unbound Clouds setting that pixelates the clouds.[5][6]
  • Much better custom skybox support, including skyboxes from mods and resource packs.[5][6]
  • A lot more End customization.[5][6]
  • Guaranteed 32+ colortex support on all Iris/Oculus versions.[5][6]
  • A new second profile button added to Iris/Oculus through a mixin. It makes the popular settings friendlier and keeps them separate from the performance profile.[5][6]

1.8.0 changes (in release 1.8.6, Complementary Shaders r5.7.1)

Version 1.8.6 is a small bugfix update on top of the 1.8.0 changes.[7]

  • A much improved Epic Thunderstorms option: thundier thunder, with clouds randomly lighting up during a storm.[7]
  • Many new aurora settings: Scale, Swirlyness, Saturation and Dominant Layer.[7]
  • All PixelCraft features were added to Euphoria Patches.[7]
  • You can now patch the other shader style after Euphoria Patches is already installed.[7]
  • The mod became a multi-loader setup. This changes nothing for users but makes development easier.[7]
  • Mixin support for Forge, allowing Iris code injection to improve the user experience and fix obscure bugs.[7]

Items and blocks

We can't match this mod to the pack's item list: it registers as euphoria_patcher, and the pack's recipe dump has nothing under that name. That means we found nothing, not that the mod adds nothing. Search the item browser
