What is Dyenamics?

Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.44 guide

Dyenamics is part of this pack's mod list, so it's installed and ready to go when you load in. The pack ships version 1.21.1-3.3.1 of the mod.[1]

Unverified The available sources don't describe what Dyenamics adds, who it's aimed at, or where it fits in the pack's progression, so those details aren't covered here yet.

How do you get started with Dyenamics?

4 parts

Dyenamics adds extra dye colors such as Amber and Aquamarine, plus colored versions of blocks like terracotta, glass, carpet, shulker boxes and banners. The sensible order is dyes first, then the blocks that use those colors.[2][3]

Make the dyes first

The pack adds its own shapeless crafting recipe for each Dyenamics dye, and every craft gives you 4 dyes. Amber is the example below. Aquamarine, Bubblegum, Cherenkov, Conifer, Fluorescent, Honey, Icy Blue, Lavender, Maroon, Mint, Navy, Peach, Persimmon, Rose and Spring Green each have a matching pack recipe. Start with Amber Dye or whichever color you want.[2]

Terracotta and glazed terracotta

Colored terracotta comes from a shaped crafting recipe that makes 8 at a time. Glazed terracotta then has its own smelting recipe. Both of these are the mod's own recipes, not pack changes.[2]

    Glass and carpet

Stained glass is a shaped recipe that makes 8 blocks per craft. Stained glass panes can be made in a batch of 16, and a separate recipe that starts from plain glass panes makes 8. Carpet makes 3 per craft.[2]

    Shulker boxes and banners

Colored shulker boxes such as Amber Shulker Box have their own mod recipe, and banners such as Amber Banner are shaped recipes from the mod.[2]

Tip: The mod's language file also lists wool, beds, candles, concrete, concrete powder and rockwool for these colors, so there is more to build with than the items above. The recipe dump here only writes out a sample of the mod's recipes.[2][3]

      How does Dyenamics work?

      4 parts

The sources for Dyenamics cover colored blocks and items, so the mechanics here are about how those blocks drop, what they keep when you break them, and which kinds of recipe make them. The mod's names list includes banners, beds, candles, carpets, concrete, concrete powder, glazed terracotta, rockwool, shulker boxes, stained glass, stained glass panes, terracotta and wool.[3]

What blocks drop when you break them

      • Carpet, concrete, concrete powder, glazed terracotta, rockwool, terracotta and wool each drop themselves, for example Amber Carpet and Amber Terracotta. The aquamarine versions use the same pattern.[4][5][6][7][8][9][10]
      • Stained glass and stained glass panes only drop if you break them with a Silk Touch tool, so bring one when you want Amber Stained Glass or Amber Stained Glass Pane back.[11][12]
      • Beds only drop their item from the head part, so you get one bed back rather than two.[13]
      • Candles drop as many candles as are placed in the block (2, 3 or 4), and the drop is affected by explosion decay. A candle cake drops the candle when it is broken.[14][15]

      What gets kept

Banners carry over their custom name, item name, tooltip display, banner patterns and rarity when broken. A wall banner drops the normal banner item, for example Amber Banner, not a separate wall item.[16][17]

Shulker boxes such as Amber Shulker Box keep their custom name, container contents, lock and container loot when you pick them up. That means you can carry a full box without emptying it first.[18]

      How the items are made

The recipe dump shows four recipe types for Dyenamics items: shaped crafting, shapeless crafting, smelting and transmute crafting. It counts 162 shaped, 125 shapeless, 19 smelting and 18 transmute recipes, and only a handful are written out in full. The recipe blocks below render the exact in-pack versions.[2]

      Smelting

        Recipe id: dyenamics:amber_glazed_terracotta

This one is a smelting recipe, so it goes in a furnace-type cooker, not a crafting grid.

        Crafting Transmute

          Recipe id: dyenamics:amber_shulker_box

A transmute crafting recipe, a different recipe type from the shaped ones above.

          Pack-added dye recipes

The pack adds its own shapeless recipes for the dyes. Each "otherflower_to" recipe makes 4 dye, such as Amber Dye, and the dump marks them as added by the pack, not as mod recipes. The same recipe pattern exists for aquamarine, bubblegum, cherenkov, conifer and fluorescent dye.[2]

4× Amber DyeAdded by the pack

          Crafting Shapeless

          Recipe id: allthemods:crafting/otherflower_to_amber_dye

Pack-added shapeless recipe that makes 4 Amber Dye.

          Recipe id: allthemods:crafting/otherflower_to_aquamarine_dye

          Pack-added, makes 4 Aquamarine Dye.

Tip: Plan your glass builds around the recipe output: the pane recipe gives 16 panes, and the pane-from-glass-pane recipe gives 8. Remember that glass only drops with Silk Touch.[2][11][12]

How do you progress through Dyenamics?

          3 parts

Dyenamics adds extra dye colours and coloured versions of familiar blocks. The sources for this pack show recipes, not a tiered unlock path, so this section follows the recipes: first how dyes come in, then what each colour makes.[2]

Unverified Quests: the sources here show no quest that involves Dyenamics, so there is no quest-driven order to describe. If the pack's quest book covers it anywhere, that chapter is not shown in these sources.

          Getting dyes

The mod's own shapeless recipe for Amber Dye makes 2 dye per craft. The aquamarine recipe for Aquamarine Dye also makes 2.[2]

          • any persimmon dye

          Recipe id: dyenamics:amber_dye

The mod's own recipe: 2 Amber Dye per craft.

The pack adds its own shapeless crafting recipe for each of the dye colours in the dump, and each one makes 4 dye per craft. These are pack additions, not mod defaults, so you get more dye per craft than the mod's own amber and aquamarine recipes give.[2]

          Recipe id: allthemods:crafting/otherflower_to_amber_dye

Added by the pack: 4 Amber Dye per craft.

Ultramarine Dye is the odd one out in the dump. Its mod recipe is a smelting recipe, and the pack also adds the 4-dye crafting recipe for it.[2]

            Coloured blocks and items

Once you have a colour, the recipes split by item type. Amber and aquamarine are written out in full in the dump, so they show the pattern best.[2]

The mod's carpet recipe: it makes 3 per craft.

            Smelting and shulker boxes

Glazed terracotta, such as Amber Glazed Terracotta, is made by smelting for every colour listed in the dump. Shulker boxes, such as Amber Shulker Box, use a transmute crafting recipe.[2]

Tip: Going by the amber shulker box loot table, a broken Dyenamics shulker box keeps its custom name, container contents, lock and container loot data.[18]
