What is Apothic Enchanting?

Apothic Enchanting is part of the pack in this version, which ships version 2.0.0 (the file is ApothicEnchanting-26.1.2-2.0.0.jar). It was already included in this release or an earlier one.[1]

Unverified The sources available for this guide don't describe what Apothic Enchanting does, who it is best suited to, or how it changes the pack's recipes or configs. They don't confirm where it fits in progression either. There is no confirmed ATM Star path and no confirmed quests involving this mod, so no feature details, values or progression advice are given here.

How do you get started with Apothic Enchanting?

5 parts

Enchanting in this pack revolves around three stats you will see in the enchanting table screen: Eterna, Arcana and Quanta. Knowing what each one does makes every step below make sense.[2]

  • Eterna sets the max enchanting level. The screen shows your current value against a cap, and your Max Eterna attribute can clamp it lower.[2]
  • Arcana makes rare enchantments more common and increases the number of enchantments you get.[2]
  • Quanta increases the underlying randomness and lessens the negative effects.[2]

Step one: get an enchanting table

One of the mod's advancements asks you to obtain an enchanting table and begin to unveil the mystery. Start there before anything fancy.[2]

The Apothic Enchanting Table is only a cosmetic variant of the Enchanting Table, so you can skip it for now and craft it later if you like the look.[2][3]

This table is a cosmetic variant, so you do not need it to progress.

Step two: start building shelves

The pack has a whole family of shelves, including the Basic Bookshelf, Stoneshelf, Hellshelf and Seashelf. The Basic Bookshelf is the natural place to begin, and its recipe is shown below.[3]

Step three: take control with the Raven table

The Enchanting Table of the Raven allows you to manually customize the core enchanting stats. That is handy once you have shelves and want to tune the result instead of leaving it to chance.[2][3]

Step four: move on to advanced shelves

Several of the mod's advancements point at the next tier of shelves. You can activate a Dormant Deepshelf, and you can create a Sculkshelf using a Warden Tendril. For the Endshelf, the advancement asks you to acquire Infused Dragon's Breath and create the shelf.[2]

The Infused Hellshelf and Infused Seashelf are both obtained through Infusion Enchanting, and each can be upgraded further. This pack has infusion recipes for both of them.[2][3]

        Goals to aim for

The mod's advancements give you clear targets for how far your setup has come: enchant an item at level 30, then 60, 80 and finally 100. Others ask you to enchant at 50% or 100% Arcana, or at 0%, 50% or 100% Quanta.[2]

        How does Apothic Enchanting work?

        5 parts

Apothic Enchanting has no machines, power or fluids. Everything revolves around the enchanting table and the stats it reads: Eterna, Quanta and Arcana. Shelves around the table feed those stats, and a few storage and tome items handle the leftovers. This page covers what the pack's text files confirm.[2]

        The three enchanting stats

        • Eterna sets the max enchanting level. The GUI also shows a clamp message, so your Max Eterna attribute (the most Eterna you can use in an Enchanting Table) can cap the value.[2]
        • Arcana makes rare enchantments more common and increases the number of enchantments you get.[2]
        • Quanta increases the underlying randomness. Its tooltip adds a second line saying it lessens the negative effects.[2]

Enchanting tables can now go past level 30, and some enchantments only show up beyond that point. The mod also adds a menu called Available Enchantments, plus an "enchanting clues" system. The tooltips "The Runes Reveal Nothing" and "The Runes Reveal All" tell you how much the table is showing you.[2]

        Tables

The Enchanting Table of the Raven lets you manually customize the core enchanting stats. That makes it the one to use when you want to control the stats directly instead of building them up with shelves.[2][3]

The Apothic Enchanting Table is only a cosmetic variant of the Enchanting Table. It doesn't change how enchanting works.[2][3]

        Shelves

The pack has many shelf blocks, from the Basic Bookshelf and Stoneshelf up to the Hellshelf, Seashelf, Endshelf and Deepshelf lines. Their tooltips use phrases such as "Provides %s enchanting power", "Eterna: +%s (Max %s)" and "Provides Quantic Stability". Some shelves also add enchanting clues or allow treasure enchantments.[2][3]

The Seashelf of Aquatic Filtration is the one shelf whose behavior is fully described. You insert enchanted books into it to stop them appearing in the table. It also gains Eterna and Arcana based on how many books you put in.[2][3]

The advancement texts show how some shelves are obtained and upgraded:[2]

        • The Endshelf needs Infused Dragon's Breath. You can then upgrade it into the Draconic Endshelf.[2]
        • A Sculkshelf is created using a Warden Tendril.[2]
        • The Dormant Deepshelf can be activated, and that is its own advancement.[2]
        • Infused Hellshelves and Infused Seashelves are obtained through Infusion Enchanting, and both can be upgraded afterwards.[2]
        • An Altar of the Seas can turn unwanted enchanted items into a new book.[2]

        Enchantment Library

The Enchantment Library is a block that stores enchantments. Inserting an enchanted book deposits it. Left-clicking a stored enchantment extracts one level, and shift-clicking extracts the max level available. Its tooltips show the number of enchantments stored, the points stored, the max level available and a "Next Level Unavailable" warning.[2][3]

        Tomes and other utility items

The tomes accept specific kinds of enchantments. There are tomes for helmets (Tome of Helmets), chestplates (Tome of Chestplates), leggings (Tome of Legplates) and boots (Tome of Boots). There are also tomes for bows (Tome of the Archers), fishing rods (Tome of the Fishers), pickaxes (Tome of the Miners) and miscellaneous enchantments (Tome of the Others).[2][3]

The Tome of Scrapping extracts half of the enchantments from an item and destroys the item in the process. The text files also describe an extraction tome and an improved scrap tome, which extract all enchantments. The extraction tome keeps the item, while the improved scrap tome destroys it.[2][3]

The Flimsy Ender Lead can capture and move animals. The text files describe two stronger leads: an Ender Lead that moves most entities, and an Occult Ender Lead that also binds them to Mob Spawners.[2][3]

How do you progress through Apothic Enchanting?

        2 parts

The recipe data for this pack shows what exists and how each item is made, but it lists no ingredients, so this page can't give you a costed tier ladder. What I can confirm is which items come from a normal crafting recipe and which use the mod's own infusion recipe type.[3]

        Made with crafting recipes

Most of the mod is crafted the ordinary way. That includes both enchanting tables: the Apothic Enchanting Table and the Enchanting Table of the Raven.[3]
