What is AdvancedAE?
2 parts
AdvancedAE is an AE2 addon that focuses on convenience and a smoother experience when you handle your ME System. It also expands what end-game setups can do. This pack includes version 26.1.7.[1][2][3]
What it adds
- Advanced Pattern Providers: encode a Processing Pattern with the Advanced Pattern Encoder and choose which face of the target machine each input goes into. One block replaces multiple pipes and used sides. Advanced Extended Pattern Provider also has an extended version that holds up to 36 patterns.[1][4][5]
- Quantum Computer: a special crafting unit that can run an unlimited number of crafting tasks as long as it has crafting storage left, and all those tasks share the co-processors. The Quantum Computer Core works alone with 256M of storage and 8 co-processors. As a multiblock it scales up to 5x5x5 and uses a single channel.[1][6]
- Quantum Crafter: a powerful auto crafter that does a series of crafts every tick, working directly from the ME System's inventory. It handles recursive crafting and crafts with non-consumed ingredients.[1]
- Quantum Armor Set: armor that links to your ME System. By default its defenses are comparable to Netherite gear, and upgrade cards add things like flight, night vision, a magnet and auto feeding from ME Storage.[1][7]
- Reaction Chamber: a machine that uses a lot of power for efficient material processing. It is used to create various items needed to progress in AdvancedAE, and it also offers efficient recipes for other mods.[1]
- Buses and monitor: a Stock Export Bus that keeps an exact amount in a target inventory, an Import Export Bus, an Advanced IO Bus, and an ME Throughput Monitor that tracks items, fluids and energy.[1][8][9]
Upgrading existing providers
You don't have to rebuild your pattern setup. Advanced Pattern Provider Upgrade converts a regular AE2 Pattern Provider or an Extended AE Extended Pattern Provider into the advanced version and keeps the same number of slots. Advanced Pattern Provider Capacity Upgrade upgrades a regular provider straight to an Advanced Pattern Provider with 36 pattern slots.[1][10]
Unverified Where AdvancedAE sits in the pack's quest book (its chapter, group and neighbouring quests) and whether the ATM Star path uses it are told in the quest chapters, and the sources here do not show them.
How do you get started with AdvancedAE?
6 parts
AdvancedAE is an AE2 add-on for quality of life and end-game systems. It lets pattern providers push items to specific sides of a machine, and it adds quantum computers, a powerful auto-crafter and a wearable ME armor set. Here is a sensible order to tackle it in.[1][3]
First: Reaction Chamber and Quantum Alloy
Start with the Reaction Chamber. It is used to create various items you need to progress in the mod, and in this pack Quantum Alloy is made with a reaction recipe.[1][11]

Second: Quantum Processor
Next comes the Quantum Processor. It needs the Inscriber Quantum Press and the Printed Quantum Circuit first, and the recipes below show them in that order, ending with the processor itself. The pack also adds its own inscriber recipe for the Printed Quantum Circuit.[11]
Inscriber (ae2)
Recipe id: kubejs:inscriber/universal_press/printed_quantum_processor
This inscriber recipe for the Printed Quantum Circuit is added by the pack.
Third: Advanced pattern providers
The Advanced Pattern Provider Upgrade turns a regular AE or ExtendedAE pattern provider into an advanced one and keeps its slot count. The Advanced Pattern Provider Capacity Upgrade upgrades a regular provider straight to an advanced one with 36 pattern slots.[10]

To use the side-selection feature you also need the Advanced Pattern Encoder. Put an encoded Processing Pattern in its left slot and pick a face for each ingredient. Leaving it on "A" sends the item to whatever face touches the provider. Then take the advanced pattern out and insert it into the advanced provider.[4][5]

Fourth: Your first Quantum Computer
The Quantum Computer Core is a crafting computer on its own, with 256M of crafting storage and 8 co-processor threads. Later you can grow it into a multiblock with the Quantum Computer Accelerator, which adds co-processors, and the Quantum Computer Structural Glass, which frames the computer. Their recipes come after the core's.[6]

How does AdvancedAE work?
9 parts
AdvancedAE adds three big systems on top of your ME network: pattern providers that can push items into specific faces of a machine, a multiblock crafting computer that shares its co-processors between every job, and a set of buses and auto-crafters. This section walks through how each one behaves.[3]
Directional pattern providers
The Advanced Extended Pattern Provider upgrades a standard or Extended Pattern Provider so each individual item in a pattern can be pushed into a chosen face of the target machine. That means machines that want specific inputs on specific sides can be automated with one block and no pipes. The extended version holds up to 36 patterns.[5]
To teach the provider where to send things, you use the Advanced Pattern Encoder. Right-click with it in hand to open its GUI, then put an encoded Processing Pattern in the left slot. Every raw ingredient is listed, and each row has buttons for the possible block faces. Leaving the "A" button selected sends the ingredient to whatever face is directly connected to the provider. Choosing a face forces that face.[4][13]
To get a usable pattern, insert an encoded pattern into the encoder and take the advanced version back out. You then put that pattern in the provider.[5]
You don't need to rebuild your providers to upgrade them. The Advanced Pattern Provider Upgrade works on regular and Extended Pattern Providers and keeps their current slot count. The Advanced Pattern Provider Capacity Upgrade turns a regular Pattern Provider directly into an Advanced one with 36 slots.[10][13]

The Quantum Computer
The quantum computer is a special crafting computer. It can run an unlimited number of crafting requests as long as it has enough crafting storage, and all of those jobs share every co-processor in the multiblock. The whole multiblock uses a single channel.[1][6]
The Quantum Computer Core works alone as a standalone computer with 256M of crafting storage and 8 co-processor threads. When it runs standalone, power has to come in through its Up or Down sides, where the connectors are. Building a multiblock around it makes the computer much stronger.[6][13]

Multiblock parts
- Quantum Storages (128M Quantum Computer Storage and 256M Quantum Computer Storage) add 128M or 256M of crafting storage, which raises how many concurrent tasks you can run.[6]
- The Quantum Data Entangler multiplies the total storage of the multiblock by 4. You can only place one per multiblock.[6]
- Each Quantum Computer Accelerator adds 8 co-processors, and every pattern the computer runs shares them, so it's worth building plenty.[6]
- The Quantum Computer Multi-Threader multiplies the co-processing power of your accelerators by 4. Like the entangler, you can only place one per multiblock.[6]
- Quantum Computer Structural Glass blocks provide the frame. They connect everything together and are used in the outside layer.[6][13]

Multiblock rules
- The maximum size is 7x7x7 by the in-game guide's figure, measured on the external dimensions.[6]
- No empty spaces are allowed inside the multiblock. Gaps can be filled with a filler block that gives no extra benefit.[6]
- The outside layer is made of Quantum Structure blocks.[6][13]
Several of these numbers can be changed in the server config: the maximum multiblock size, the co-processors per accelerator, the maximum number of multi-threaders and data entanglers, and their multiplication values. The item tooltips show the limits for your instance.[6][13]
Unverified The multiblock size limit is set in the mod's server config, and the sources here do not show the value this pack uses. The in-game guide says 7x7x7 while the mod's project page says 5x5x5, so check the tooltip on the Quantum Structure block in game.
Quantum Crafter
The Quantum Crafter is an auto-crafter that works straight from your ME system's inventory. Place it in your network and connect it with a cable. It needs a single channel. It can also run fluid substitution crafts and recursive crafts, where an input is also an output.[14]

- Encode the recipes you want to run indefinitely as crafting patterns and insert them into the crafter's pattern slots.[14]
- Use the square button at the bottom to enable or disable each pattern. Disabled patterns are never crafted.[14]
- Click the cog button to open the Pattern Configuration UI. There you set how much of each ingredient to keep in the ME system and a maximum amount of the end product, so you don't over-craft expensive items.[14]
- Type the number (mathematical expressions work too) and press enter to apply it. An indicator on the right shows whether it was applied. Setting the output limit to 0 removes it, and the crafter then keeps going until the inputs run out.[13][14]
By default the crafter pushes finished items from its output slots into the ME system. Left-click the cell button on the left toolbar to push into adjacent inventories instead. A second button then lets you choose which sides count for auto-export.[13][14]
The crafter accepts two kinds of upgrade cards. The speed card reaches 64 crafts of each pattern per tick, and the other card adds redstone control.[14]
Buses
The ME Import Export Bus is a mix of an import bus and an export bus. The filter sets the stacks to export, and anything not on the filter is a valid stack to import.[9]
The ME Advanced IO Bus is made by fusing two buses together and inherits what both do. Its base speed is 8 times higher than the base speed of a standard bus. It takes a while to ramp up, then runs very fast once fully upgraded.[8]
- Exporting: it exports according to its filter, up to a fixed amount, and then stops.[8]
- Importing: it imports anything that isn't filtered for export. Import and export operations are counted separately, so the bus can't get stuck on one of them.[8]
- Regulate: when on, it tries to import whatever exceeds the filtered amounts and does that before anything else. When off, exported items are kept even if they're over the filter.[8][13]

The Stock Export Bus exports an exact amount of each filtered stack. It tracks what's already in the target inventory and won't insert above that number. Drag an item into the filter slot and middle-click to set the amount. It doesn't pull extra items out if the inventory goes over the amount.[13][15]
Reaction Chamber
The Reaction Chamber speeds up chemical reactions using a catalyst fluid and a lot of power. Acceleration Cards raise the power it needs per tick. There's also a button to flush leftover fluid out of the machine.[12][13]
If you power it straight from the ME system, the chamber tries to draw one tick of power at a time. When that fails, it flickers as the power toggles on and off. Equipping your network with energy buffers fixes this, and you can also use fewer acceleration cards. With Applied Flux installed, the chamber can also pull energy from energy cells in your drives.[12]
- Full block pattern provider: it connects the chamber to the grid so power can be drawn as needed. If stored grid power is lower than the power required per tick, progress slows and a warning shows.[12]
- External power: any source that can push energy will fill the buffers. A warning shows on the screen if power arrives too slowly.[12][13]
- Induction Cards (needs Applied Flux): they go in cable-part or directional Pattern Providers and export power from Energy Cells. They ramp up slowly, so crafting won't be at full speed at first.[12]
Throughput Monitor
The ME Throughput Monitor works like a normal monitor and adds a meter for one item or fluid type. It shows how the quantity changes per second, and it doesn't need a channel. Right-click with an item, or double-right-click with a fluid container, to set it. Right-click with an empty hand to clear it, and shift-right-click with an empty hand to lock it.[16]
The Throughput Monitor Configurator cycles the display between items per tick, per second and per minute when you right-click a monitor with it. Readings can take a while to settle after a switch, so don't trust the first values.[16]
Quantum Armor
The quantum armor is an energy-powered suit with defenses comparable to Netherite by default. It can use its buffer for an energy shield, the boots negate fall damage, and the chestplate removes the mining penalty while flying. Link each piece to your system through an access point. Extra perks only work while you're in range of it.[7][13]
Upgrades are installed from the Quantum Armor Configuration Menu while wearing the pieces. It opens with N by default. There you can add or remove cards, toggle them and adjust their settings. Every card is crafted from the Quantum Upgrade Base Card. Some cards also need the grid link, such as Auto Feeding Card, Auto Stock Card and Pick Craft Card.[7]
The pack changes the crafting recipes of the helmet, chestplate, leggings and boots, so don't rely on the mod's default recipes for those.[11]

How do you progress through AdvancedAE?
5 parts
AdvancedAE builds on your ME system. It adds pattern providers that push items to specific machine sides, a multiblock crafting computer, faster buses, and a wearable quantum armor suit. Here is a sensible order to tackle it, based on what each part unlocks.[3]
Unverified The sources here do not show any quest-book guidance for this mod, so the order below is a suggested order based on what each part does, not something the pack enforces.
Advanced pattern providers
Start here. The Advanced Extended Pattern Provider upgrades a standard or Extended Pattern Provider (from Extended AE) so you can choose which face each item in a pattern is pushed to. That lets one block feed machines that need specific inputs on specific sides, with no pipes.[5]
You encode those face settings with the Advanced Pattern Encoder. Advanced patterns only work properly in Advanced Pattern Providers. In any other provider they behave like normal patterns. If one item can't be inserted into its chosen face, nothing is inserted directionally and normal provider behavior applies.[4]

Buses
The ME Import Export Bus combines an import bus and an export bus. The filter sets what gets exported, and anything not on the filter can be imported.[9][11]
The ME Advanced IO Bus is the more powerful option and inherits the functions of its parent buses. It exports according to its filter up to a fixed amount, and can also regulate stock. Imports and exports are counted separately, so it won't get stuck on one of them. It takes some time to ramp up to speed.[8][11]

The quantum computer
This is the end-game crafting piece. It can run an unlimited number of crafting requests as long as it has crafting storage left.[3][6]

Linking each piece to your system unlocks perks based on the gear piece and installed cards, and you need to be in range of the connected access point for the extra functions to work. With the armor equipped, a hotkey (N by default) opens the configuration menu, where you can add or remove upgrades.[7]
The Quantum Upgrade Base Card doesn't do anything special on its own, and it is the base for all the upgrade cards. The cards can cover flight (Flight Card and Flight Drift Card), movement speed, jump height, auto feeding, wireless recharging and more. The Flight Drift Card only works when the Flight Card is installed.[7]
