What is Wireless Chargers?

2 parts

Wireless Chargers is a small utility mod that charges things without cables. Its chargers can charge nearby blocks and nearby players, and you can toggle a highlight to see exactly where a charger's effective area reaches. This pack includes version 1.0.9+a for NeoForge on Minecraft 1.21.[1][2]

It's a good fit if you're tired of running power to every machine, or if you want your tools and gear topping up on their own while you work around your base.[1]

The four chargers

There are two tiers of each charger type, Basic and Advanced. Player chargers charge the items players are carrying. Block chargers charge blocks in range. Here is what the mod's project page lists for each one.[1]

Tip: The rates are per player or per block, so a charger with several targets in range draws more power than one with a single target. Keep that in mind when you size your energy supply.[1]

Where it fits in the pack

The mod has been in the pack since All the Mods 10 version 2.25 or earlier, so it's a long-standing part of the mod list rather than a recent addition.[2]

Unverified The range and charge-rate figures above come from the mod's project page. The sources I have don't show whether the pack changes them, and they don't cover the pack's recipes for these chargers. They also don't show any quests or ATM Star path involvement for this mod, so don't count on either. Check the in-game recipe viewer for the exact crafting recipes. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

How do you get started with Wireless Chargers?

4 parts

Wireless Chargers does one thing: it charges things without cables. Some chargers fill the items of players nearby, and others charge nearby blocks. Each kind has a basic and an advanced tier, so the order to make them in is simple.[1]

Step 1: Pick your basic charger

Start with a basic charger. Which one depends on what you want to power. The Basic Wireless Player Charger charges the items of players in range, so it suits your gear. The Basic Wireless Block Charger charges blocks nearby, so you can skip running cables to them.[1][3][4]

Charges nearby blocks, such as your machines.

Several of the ingredients in these recipes are common tags rather than single items, so the pack accepts any matching item for those slots.[3]

What the basic chargers give you

  • Basic player charger: charges players' items in a 9x9x9 area at 50 FE/t per player.[1]
  • Basic block charger: charges blocks in a 5x5x5 area at 50 FE/t per block.[1]

The tooltip on each charger shows its area, its charging rate and how much energy it currently has stored. You can also toggle a highlight on a charger to see its effective area in the world.[1][4]

Step 2: Upgrade to the advanced tier

Once the basic chargers are working, upgrade them. Each advanced recipe is built around its basic counterpart, so craft the basic charger first and keep it for the upgrade.[3]

The advanced tier covers a bigger area and charges faster than the basic one. If you have machines spread around a room, or you want your gear topped up as you move around your base, it's worth the upgrade.[1]

Advancements to chase

The mod has its own advancements: crafting any wireless charger, crafting an advanced wireless player charger, and crafting an advanced wireless block charger.[4]

How does Wireless Chargers work?

4 parts

Wireless Chargers keeps things simple. You place a charger and it charges things around it, measured in FE/t. Player chargers charge the items players carry, and block chargers charge nearby blocks.[1][4]

Player chargers

A player charger charges the items of players inside its area. The rate is applied per player, so every player in range gets charged at that rate.[1][4]

Block chargers

A block charger charges blocks in its area. The rate is applied per block, so each block in range is charged at that rate.[1][4]

In both families the advanced tier covers a bigger area and charges at a higher rate per target than the basic tier.[1]

Reading the tooltip

Each charger's tooltip shows its area size, its charging rate per player or per block, and how much energy it has stored out of its maximum.[4]

You can also toggle a highlight on a charger to see its effective area. This is handy when you are deciding where to place it.[1]

Tip: Block chargers have a much smaller area than player chargers, so use the area highlight when you place one. The charger works on blocks inside its area.[1]

Crafting

Every charger has a crafting recipe in this pack, and these are the mod's own recipes. Each advanced charger is crafted from the matching basic one, so make the basic charger first.[3]

How do you progress through Wireless Chargers?

2 parts

Wireless Chargers in this pack is split into a basic and an advanced tier, and each tier has a player charger and a block charger. All of the recipes below are the mod's own recipes.[3]

Basic tier

You start with the Basic Wireless Player Charger and the Basic Wireless Block Charger. Both are shaped crafting recipes, so you can make either one straight away without any earlier charger.[3]

Advanced tier

The Advanced Wireless Player Charger and the Advanced Wireless Block Charger are upgrades. Each is crafted from the basic charger of the same type, so make the basic version first and keep it for the upgrade.[3]

Tip: These recipes ask for materials by tag (glowstone dust, ender pearls, iron ingots, gold ingots and redstone blocks), so any item in the matching tag works. You don't need one particular mod's version of those materials.[3]

What changed in Wireless Chargers between versions?

1 part

Wireless Chargers has a very short history. Its own changelog lists an initial release and one fix, and All the Mods 10 8.1 ships the newer build, version 1.0.9+a.[2][5]

  • 1.0.9: the initial release of Wireless Chargers for Minecraft 1.21.[5]
