What is Wireless Chargers?

2 parts

Wireless Chargers adds chargers that power up things around them without any cables. There are chargers for players and chargers for blocks, and each comes in a Basic and an Advanced tier. You can also toggle a highlight that shows a charger's effective area, so you can see exactly what it covers.[1]

The pack includes Wireless Chargers 1.0.9+a for NeoForge on Minecraft 1.21. The mod has been in the pack since version 0.32 or earlier.[2]

The four chargers

Watch out: These ranges and charge rates come from the mod's project page. The sources I have don't show whether the pack changes any of them, so treat them as the mod's listed values rather than confirmed pack values.[1][2]

Who it's for

If you hate carrying around tools and gear that need FE, the player chargers top up your items while you stand inside their area. The block chargers do the same for nearby blocks. Both have a Basic and an Advanced tier. The Advanced tier covers a bigger area and charges at 200 FE/t instead of 50 FE/t.[1]

Unverified Where Wireless Chargers fits in the pack's progression, including the ATM Star path, is unconfirmed. The sources I have don't place it in any progression, and I have no pack recipes for the chargers to show here.

How do you get started with Wireless Chargers?

4 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

Wireless Chargers does one thing: it charges things without cables. Some chargers fill the items of players nearby, and others charge nearby blocks. Each kind has a basic and an advanced tier, so the order to make them in is simple.[1]

Step 1: Pick your basic charger

Start with a basic charger. Which one depends on what you want to power. The Basic Wireless Player Charger charges the items of players in range, so it suits your gear. The Basic Wireless Block Charger charges blocks nearby, so you can skip running cables to them.[1][3][4]

Charges nearby blocks, such as your machines.

Several of the ingredients in these recipes are common tags rather than single items, so the pack accepts any matching item for those slots.[3]

What the basic chargers give you

  • Basic player charger: charges players' items in a 9x9x9 area at 50 FE/t per player.[1]
  • Basic block charger: charges blocks in a 5x5x5 area at 50 FE/t per block.[1]

The tooltip on each charger shows its area, its charging rate and how much energy it currently has stored. You can also toggle a highlight on a charger to see its effective area in the world.[1][4]

Step 2: Upgrade to the advanced tier

Once the basic chargers are working, upgrade them. Each advanced recipe is built around its basic counterpart, so craft the basic charger first and keep it for the upgrade.[3]

The advanced tier covers a bigger area and charges faster than the basic one. If you have machines spread around a room, or you want your gear topped up as you move around your base, it's worth the upgrade.[1]

Advancements to chase

The mod has its own advancements: crafting any wireless charger, crafting an advanced wireless player charger, and crafting an advanced wireless block charger.[4]

How does Wireless Chargers work?

3 parts

Wireless Chargers keeps things simple: it adds chargers that push energy to things around them without any cables. There are two kinds. Block chargers power nearby blocks, and player chargers power the items players are carrying. Each kind comes in a Basic and an Advanced tier.[1][4]

What each charger covers

Every charger works on a cube centered on itself. The pack's config sets that cube with a range value, where a range of 1 means a 3x3x3 area. Every value in the pack's config matches the default listed in the file's comments, so the pack doesn't change any of these numbers.[5]

The player chargers reach further than the block chargers at the same tier.[1][5]

Energy storage and transfer

Each charger has its own internal energy buffer, set by options like [[config:config/wirelesschargers-common.toml#General.Basic Wireless Block Charger.basicBlockChargerCapacity]]. The buffer is what it hands out to everything in range. The in-game tooltip shows how much energy is stored and the charging rate, so you can check a charger at a glance.[4][5]

The transfer rate is measured in energy per tick, and 1 second is 20 ticks. It applies to each target separately. A block charger pays out its rate per block, and a player charger pays out its rate per player, as the tooltips say. The config comments for the player chargers say "per block", but the tooltip wording is per player.[1][4][5]

If you want to tune a charger, the config allows these ranges. Capacity can be set from 1,000 to 10,000,000. Transfer rate can be set from 10 to 10,000. Block charger range can be 1 to 5, and player charger range can be 1 to 10. For example, [[config:config/wirelesschargers-common.toml#General.Advanced Wireless Player Charger.advancedPlayerChargerRange]] is set to 6 in the pack.[5]

Tip: A charger's effective area can be highlighted with a toggle. Use it to check exactly which blocks a charger will reach before you build around it.[1]

Crafting the chargers

Every charger has a crafting recipe in the pack. The Advanced versions build on their Basic counterparts.[6]

How do you progress through Wireless Chargers?

2 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

Wireless Chargers in this pack is split into a basic and an advanced tier, and each tier has a player charger and a block charger. All of the recipes below are the mod's own recipes.[3]

Basic tier

You start with the Basic Wireless Player Charger and the Basic Wireless Block Charger. Both are shaped crafting recipes, so you can make either one straight away without any earlier charger.[3]

Advanced tier

The Advanced Wireless Player Charger and the Advanced Wireless Block Charger are upgrades. Each is crafted from the basic charger of the same type, so make the basic version first and keep it for the upgrade.[3]

Tip: These recipes ask for materials by tag (glowstone dust, ender pearls, iron ingots, gold ingots and redstone blocks), so any item in the matching tag works. You don't need one particular mod's version of those materials.[3]

Which Wireless Chargers config options matter?

3 parts

Good news: the pack doesn't change anything for Wireless Chargers. Every option in the config file is set to the mod's own default, and each option's comment in the file lists that same default. What you see below is how the chargers behave out of the box here.[5]

Range

Range is counted outward from the charger. A range of 1 means a 3x3x3 area, and the project page's area sizes match the values this pack uses. Block chargers accept a range of 1 to 5, and player chargers accept 1 to 10.[1][5]

Transfer rate

The transfer rate is the energy moved per tick per block, and 1 second is 20 ticks. You can set it anywhere from 10 to 10,000. Both basic chargers use 50 and both advanced chargers use 200.[5]

  • [[config:config/wirelesschargers-common.toml#General.Basic Wireless Block Charger.basicBlockChargerTransferRate]] and [[config:config/wirelesschargers-common.toml#General.Basic Wireless Player Charger.basicPlayerChargerTransferRate]] are both 50.[5]
  • [[config:config/wirelesschargers-common.toml#General.Advanced Wireless Block Charger.advancedBlockChargerTransferRate]] and [[config:config/wirelesschargers-common.toml#General.Advanced Wireless Player Charger.advancedPlayerChargerTransferRate]] are both 200.[5]

Capacity

Capacity is how much energy each charger can store. The allowed range is 1,000 to 10,000,000. Basic chargers hold 25,000 and advanced chargers hold 100,000.[5]

  • [[config:config/wirelesschargers-common.toml#General.Basic Wireless Block Charger.basicBlockChargerCapacity]] and [[config:config/wirelesschargers-common.toml#General.Basic Wireless Player Charger.basicPlayerChargerCapacity]] are both 25,000.[5]
  • [[config:config/wirelesschargers-common.toml#General.Advanced Wireless Block Charger.advancedBlockChargerCapacity]] and [[config:config/wirelesschargers-common.toml#General.Advanced Wireless Player Charger.advancedPlayerChargerCapacity]] are both 100,000.[5]
Tip: The player chargers reach further than the block chargers, so a player charger covers more room around your base. The advanced player charger has the widest reach, at a range of 6.[1][5]

What changed in Wireless Chargers between versions?

1 part

All the Mods 10 2.12 ships Wireless Chargers 1.0.9+a. The pack's mod list says it was first included in All the Mods 10 0.32 or earlier.[2]

Mod releases

  • 1.0.9: the initial release of Wireless Chargers for Minecraft 1.21.[7]
  • 1.0.9a: a small fix for ring models that were not rendering correctly. This is the build the pack uses.[2][7]

The mod's changelog lists nothing beyond those entries, so there is nothing more to cover from the mod's side.[7]

Unverified Pack changelog entries about Wireless Chargers were not available, so any changes to its recipes or config values across pack releases are unverified.
