What is Tree Tap?
Tree Tap is part of the pack's mod list. This pack ships version 1.21.1-0.4.6 of the mod, in the file treetap-1.21.1-0.4.6.jar.[1]
It has been in the pack for a while: it was first included in version 2.11 or earlier, so it isn't a recent addition.[1]
I don't have a description of the mod's features, a guidebook entry or any pack-specific recipes or configs for it, so I'm not going to guess at how it works. Check back here once those details are added to ForgeBase.[1]
How do you get started with Tree Tap?
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
The only Tree Tap item the pack's recipe data confirms is the Tap, so that is the first thing to make with Tree Tap.[2]
This is the pack's recipe for the Tap, a shaped crafting recipe.
The recipe is shaped, so follow the layout shown above. It takes any item from the shared copper ingots tag, so you don't need one specific mod's copper ingot.[2]
Unverified The sources here do not show how the Tap is used, what it collects, which trees work with it, or whether other Tree Tap items exist. Check this in-game before you build a setup around it.
How does Tree Tap work?
3 parts
Tree Tap revolves around the Tap and the Sap Collector blocks. The sources for this pack only describe the pieces below, so this section is short and sticks to what can be confirmed.[3][4]
The tap
The tap is a block that drops itself when you break it, so you can pick it up and move it. It is crafted with a shaped recipe that accepts any copper ingot.[4][5]
The tap item has a "Speed modifier" line in its text, so a speed value is attached to it. The sources don't give the actual values. There is also a Jade plugin entry for the tap, which means Jade can show tap information when you look at one.[3]
What you can tap
The mod decides what can be tapped with a block tag. It includes every block in the logs tag, plus crying obsidian. The maple block from the pamhc2trees namespace is also listed, but it is optional, so it only counts when that mod is installed.[6]
Sap collectors and buckets
The mod has Sap Collector blocks, including a separate wooden version. When you break the standard Sap Collector it drops a regular bucket. A ceramic Sap Collector drops a ceramic bucket instead, but that loot table only applies when the ceramicbucket mod is loaded.[3][7][8]
Tree Tap sorts buckets into metal, ceramic and wooden item tags. The vanilla bucket is the only entry in the metal tag. The ceramic tag holds the bucket from the ceramicbucket mod, and the wooden tag holds the wooden buckets from the tfc and woodenbucket namespaces. The ceramic and wooden entries are optional, so they only count when those mods are present.[9][10][11]
A separate item tag lists the tap as the only item that counts as a tap.[12]
Unverified This pack has no config files for Tree Tap, and the sources here do not show any tuning options for it, so nothing about configuring the mod can be confirmed.
How do you progress through Tree Tap?
2 parts
Tree Tap doesn't give you a tier ladder to climb in this pack. The one in-pack recipe for the mod is the Tap, so that's where you start.[5]
This is the pack's recipe for the Tap.
What you can tap
The mod's tappable block tag covers every block in the logs tag, plus crying obsidian. A maple block from the pamhc2trees namespace is also listed, but only as an optional entry, so it counts only when that content is installed.[6]
Buckets and collectors
The mod sorts buckets into item tags for metal, ceramic and wooden buckets. The metal tag holds the vanilla bucket. The ceramic tag holds the bucket from the ceramicbucket namespace, and the wooden tag holds the wooden buckets with the ids tfc:wooden_bucket and woodenbucket:wooden_bucket. The ceramic and wooden entries are all optional, so they only apply when those mods are present.[9][10][11]
The sap collector block drops a vanilla bucket when you break it. The ceramic sap collector drops a ceramic bucket instead, and that drop only exists when the ceramicbucket mod is loaded.[7][8]
The Tap block drops the Tap item itself when broken, and the mod's taps item tag contains just that one item.[4][12]
What changed in Tree Tap between versions?
1 part
All the Mods 10 8.2 ships Tree Tap 1.21.1-0.4.6, and the mod has been in the pack since All the Mods 10 2.11 or earlier.[1]
Version updates by pack release
- All the Mods 10 4.5: updated from 1.21.1-0.4.3 to 1.21.1-0.4.4.[13]
- All the Mods 10 4.11: updated from 1.21.1-0.4.4 to 1.21.1-0.4.5.[14]
- All the Mods 10 7.1: updated from 1.21.1-0.4.5 to 1.21.1-0.4.6, the version still used in 8.2.[1][15]
The pack changelogs only record these version bumps, so that's the full picture the sources give you for Tree Tap's history in the pack.[13][14][15]
Unverified What changed inside each Tree Tap release (new features, fixes or balance tweaks) is not shown in the sources here, because no changelogs are stored for the shipped jars.
