What is Time in a bottle?
2 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
Time in a bottle lets you speed up blocks that tick, so you spend less time waiting. Furnaces, crops and brewing stands are the examples the mod lists, but it works on tickable blocks in general. If you've ever stared at a furnace or watched wheat grow, this mod is for you.[1]
The idea is simple. The bottle passively collects time, and you spend that stored time on blocks. Once it has built up, right click a block to speed it up. Shift right click blocks like the furnace. Each click doubles the speed applied, and each boost lasts 30 seconds.[1]
How much time each boost costs
Every doubling needs stored time. By default, the mod lists these costs per click:[1]
- x2 costs 30 seconds and x4 costs 30 seconds.[1]
- x8 costs 60 seconds and x16 costs 120 seconds.[1]
- x32 costs 240 seconds and x64 costs 480 seconds, and the pattern keeps doubling after that.[1]
In this pack
The pack ships Time in a bottle 6.5.4 as the NeoForge build. It has been included since version 2.25 or earlier.[2]
Unverified The sources don't confirm whether the pack changes the mod's config values (stored time limit, boost duration or maximum speed multiplier), so check the server config in your world before relying on the default numbers above. The sources also don't place the mod in a specific progression stage.
How do you get started with Time in a bottle?
5 parts
Time in a Bottle has one job: it makes blocks tick faster. Furnaces, crops, brewing stands and other tickable blocks all speed up when you use it on them. Your whole journey with this mod starts with a single item, Time in a Bottle, so that's the first thing to make.[1][3]
Step 1: Craft the bottle
All the Mods 10 uses its own custom recipe for Time in a Bottle, so don't follow the recipe screenshot on the mod's project page. The pack's version pulls in items from several other mods, so you'll need some progress in those mods before you can make it. Check the recipe below to see exactly what to work towards.[3]

Step 2: Let time build up
A fresh bottle doesn't do much yet. It collects time passively, so after you craft it, you just need to wait while the stored time goes up. Hover over the bottle to check its tooltip, which shows your current stored time and your total accumulated time.[1][4]
Unverified The sources don't say whether the bottle has to be in your inventory, hotbar or somewhere else to collect time. Keeping it on you is the safe bet.
Step 3: Speed up your first block
- Pick a tickable block that's slowing you down. A furnace that's smelting ore or a field of crops are both great first targets.[1]
- Right-click the block with the bottle. For blocks that open a menu, like the furnace, shift-right-click instead.[1]
- Each use lasts 30 seconds. Click again to double the speed again. Every step up costs stored time.[1]
How much time each click costs
The cost goes up quickly as you stack speed. With the mod's default settings, the first click (x2) costs 30 seconds of stored time, x4 costs another 30 seconds, x8 costs 60 seconds, x16 costs 120 seconds, x32 costs 240 seconds and x64 costs 480 seconds. Each further doubling keeps doubling the cost.[1]
Unverified By default the mod limits speed-ups to 2^8 (256x) and each use lasts 30 seconds. These values come from the mod's server config, and the sources don't confirm whether All the Mods 10 changes them.
Not every block works
The mod adds a recipe viewer category called TIAB Blacklisted Blocks. If the bottle doesn't seem to do anything on a block, check that category first.[4]
How does Time in a bottle work?
7 parts
Time in a Bottle has one job: it makes blocks tick faster. Anything that ticks, like a furnace, crops or a brewing stand, can be sped up just by clicking it with the bottle. It has no machines, multiblocks, power or fluid handling to learn. The whole mod runs on a single resource: stored time.[1]
Getting the bottle
In All the Mods 10 the bottle uses a recipe added by the pack itself. It's a proper late-game item, so don't expect to craft it on day one. Check the recipe below for exactly what you'll need.[3]

Collecting time
Once you have the bottle, it fills itself up. It passively collects time, and you just wait for the stored amount to grow before spending it.[1]
Hover over the bottle to check your balance. The tooltip shows two values, each as three colon-separated numbers: Stored time, which is what you can spend right now, and Total accumulated time, which is everything the bottle has gathered.[4]
Speeding up blocks
To use stored time, right-click a tickable block with the bottle. For blocks like the furnace, which open a menu on a normal click, use Shift right-click instead.[1]
Each click doubles the speed applied to that block, and each boost lasts 30 seconds. You can stack clicks to push a block from x2 to x4, x8 and beyond, as long as you have the stored time to pay for it.[1]
How much time each boost costs
Every click costs stored time, and the price grows as you climb. The mod's project page lists these costs per click:[1]
- x2 costs 30 seconds of stored time.[1]
- x4 costs 30 seconds of stored time.[1]
- x8 costs 60 seconds of stored time.[1]
- x16 costs 120 seconds of stored time.[1]
- x32 costs 240 seconds of stored time.[1]
- x64 costs 480 seconds of stored time, and the cost keeps doubling from there.[1]
After the first couple of steps, each extra doubling costs twice as much as the one before. That means the top speeds burn through your stored time fast. The cheap early steps are great for everyday smelting, and the big multipliers are best saved for when you really need something done now.[1]
Blocks you can't accelerate
Not every block can be sped up. The mod defines a recipe viewer category called TIAB Blacklisted Blocks, which lists the blocks the bottle won't work on.[4]
Unverified The sources don't say which blocks are on the blacklist in All the Mods 10 5.0. Check the TIAB Blacklisted Blocks category in your recipe viewer in-game before planning a build around a particular block. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
Server settings and limits
The mod reads its settings from tiab-server.toml in your world's serverconfig folder. By default, max_stored_time caps stored time at 622,080,000 ticks. ticks_const is 20 ticks. each_use_duration sets each boost to 30 seconds. max_rate_multi is 8, which limits you to 2^8=256 times faster. These are the mod's own defaults.[1]
Unverified This pack's config file for the mod wasn't available, so it's not confirmed whether All the Mods 10 5.0 keeps these default limits or changes them.
Admin command
Server admins can add or remove time from a bottle with one command: /tiab followed by addTime or removeTime and a number of seconds. It's handy for testing, or for fixing a bottle on a server.[1]
Unverified The mod supports Curio slots and a keybind through a separate add-on, TIAB Curio Support. The sources don't confirm whether that add-on is included in All the Mods 10 5.0.
How do you progress through Time in a bottle?
1 part
Time in a Bottle doesn't have a long ladder of tiers in this pack. Everything comes down to one item, Time in a Bottle, and the pack gives it its own crafting recipe instead of the mod's default.[3]

The pack adds this recipe
What this means for your progression
The recipe needs items from several other mods, including more than one pickaxe and some upgrade items. You can't rush the bottle early. Treat it as a goal you reach after making progress in those other mods, and check the recipe above to see which parts to work toward.[3]
Unverified The sources don't show any upgraded or higher tiers of Time in a Bottle, or how its acceleration and stored time work in this pack. Check in-game before relying on specific numbers.
How does Time in a bottle work with other mods?
1 part
In this pack, the connection between Time in a Bottle and the rest of the modpack is its crafting recipe. The pack adds its own shaped recipe for the bottle, so you'll be crafting it the pack's way rather than following the mod's standard recipe.[3]
What makes this recipe interesting is how far it reaches. It pulls in items from several different mods in the pack, plus a vanilla item, which turns the bottle into a checkpoint that rewards you for progressing through a few mods before you can speed up your base.[3]

What you're working towards
Once you have the bottle, it passively stores time. You spend that time by right-clicking a tickable block to speed it up. For blocks like the furnace, you shift right-click instead. Each click doubles the speed and lasts 30 seconds.[1]
Unverified The sources only name vanilla examples like furnaces, crops and brewing stands as blocks the bottle can speed up. They don't confirm whether specific machines from other mods in this pack respond to it, or whether any of those mods block acceleration.
Which All the Mods 10 quests use Time in a bottle?
2 parts
In this pack, Time in a Bottle shows up in the quest book only as a comparison. The one quest that mentions it is the Time Wand quest, a quest in "Just Dire Things", in the Just Dire Things chapter (154 quests, opened by "Just Dire Things" quest). It is subtitled "Cousin of the Time in a Bottle".[5]
What the Time Wand quest asks for
The task is to obtain the Time Wand. The quest text says the wand accelerates blocks, similarly to Time in a Bottle, up to x128 speed.[5]
The big difference is fuel. The wand uses FE and Time Fluid rather than stored time, which the quest says makes it considerably easier to refill. It is blacklisted for fake players, so you can't automate it.[5]
What comes before it
The Time Wand quest sits after several others in the chapter: an untitled quest, a quest in "Just Dire Things", "Blazegold" quest, "Ferricore" quest and a quest in "Just Dire Things". This is the order the quest book gives, and it is what the quest needs for the wand to unlock.[5]
- a quest in "Just Dire Things" (Time Crystal) comes after a quest in "Just Dire Things", the fourth and final goo tier. It asks for the Time Crystal.[5]
- a quest in "Just Dire Things" (Time Fluid Bucket) comes after the Time Crystal quest and a quest in "Just Dire Things". It asks for the Time Fluid Bucket. The quest says you get Time Fluid by dropping a Time Crystal into Polymorphic Fluid.[5]
- "Blazegold" quest (Blazegold) comes after a quest in "Just Dire Things", the second goo tier. "Ferricore" quest (Ferricore) comes after a quest in "Just Dire Things", the first goo tier.[5]
The quest book gives no other Time in a Bottle quest in the chapter, so if you want the wand, follow the goo tiers up to Shadowpulse Goo and the Time Crystal first.[5]
What changed in Time in a bottle between versions?
There isn't a lot of history to cover for Time in a bottle in this pack, but here's what the sources confirm.[6][7]
- It's been in All the Mods 10 for a long time: the pack's mod list says it was first included in All the Mods 10 2.3 or earlier.[7]
- All the Mods 10 4.1 updated Time In A Bottle from 6.4.0 to 6.5.0.[6]
- All the Mods 10 5.0 ships version 6.5.0, using the file tiab-neoforge-6.5.0.jar, so it's the same version the pack moved to in 4.1.[6][7]
Unverified No changelogs are stored for the shipped jars, so what changed inside the mod between the old and new versions is unverified.
