What is Storage Delight?

1 part

Storage Delight adds extra furniture in the style of Farmer's Delight. It's built to make your kitchen, or any other space, look better while keeping your stuff tidy and organized.[1]

If you love decorating your base, this one's for you. It's aimed at builders who want storage furniture that fits a cozy kitchen or living-space look, rather than another tech storage system.[1]

What You Get

  • Drawers, including versions with doors and versions with books[1]
  • Small Drawers[1]
  • Bookshelves with Doors[1]
  • Glass Cabinets and Cabinets with Glass Doors[1]
  • Single Door Cabinets[1]

This pack ships Storage Delight version 24.12.15-1.21-neoforge.[2]

Unverified The sources don't say how much each piece of furniture stores, what materials or wood variants are available, or where the mod fits in the pack's progression, so check the recipes and blocks in game.

How do you get started with Storage Delight?

3 parts

Storage Delight adds extra furniture that keeps your stuff tidy and makes a kitchen, or any other room, look a lot better. It was made with Farmer's Delight kitchens in mind, but these pieces fit into any build.[1]

Every piece is crafted at a normal crafting table using the mod's own shaped recipes. You don't need a machine or a special station, so you can start decorating from day one.[3]

Each type of furniture comes in many wood versions, including acacia, bamboo, birch, cherry, crimson, dark oak, jungle, mangrove and oak. Spruce and warped versions also exist for the glass cabinets. Build with whatever wood is near your base, and each version has its own recipe for that wood.[3]

Step 1: Your first drawer

Start with a basic drawer like the Oak Drawer. It's the simplest piece in the mod and a quick way to see how the furniture looks in your space. If you're using a different wood, look up the matching drawer, such as the Birch Drawer or Dark Oak Drawer.[3]

Other woods follow the same pattern with their own recipe.

Step 2: Doors and cabinets

Next, mix in pieces that look different along a wall: the Oak Drawer with Door and the Oak Single Door Cabinet. They come from the same wood family as your drawer, so your kitchen stays consistent.[3]

Step 3: Glass and book variants

When you have a few more materials on hand, move on to the fancier pieces. The Glass Oak Cabinet and Oak Cabinet with Glass Doors give you glass fronts. The Oak Drawer with Books is a nice touch for a library or study corner. Check each recipe below so you know what to collect.[3]

Tip: You don't have to stick to one wood. Mixing, say, cherry cabinets with dark oak drawers is an easy way to give your kitchen some personality.[1][3]

Unverified The mod's project page also lists Small Drawers and Bookshelves with Doors, but they don't appear among the recipes checked for this pack. How many slots each piece holds is also not confirmed. Open one in-game to check its storage size before planning a big build around it.

How does Storage Delight work?

3 parts

Storage Delight is a furniture mod rather than a tech mod. It adds extra furniture for Farmer's Delight that makes your kitchen, or any other space, look better while keeping your essentials tidy and organized. You won't find machines, multiblocks, power or fluid systems in the material available for this mod. The core of it is choosing the right piece of furniture for your build.[1]

The furniture families

The mod's features come in several families of storage furniture:[1]

  • Drawers[1]
  • Drawers with Doors[1]
  • Drawers with Books[1]
  • Small Drawers[1]
  • Bookshelves with Doors[1]
  • Glass Cabinets[1]
  • Cabinets with Glass Doors[1]
  • Single Door Cabinets[1]

Wood variants

In this pack, each furniture type comes in a separate version for each wood type. For example, acacia has Acacia Drawer, Acacia Drawer with Door, Acacia Drawer with Books, Acacia Single Door Cabinet and Acacia Cabinet with Glass Doors. The same set also exists for bamboo, birch, cherry, crimson and dark oak, as with Cherry Drawer or Crimson Single Door Cabinet. Each variant uses matching blocks from its own wood, so you can match your furniture to the rest of your kitchen.[3]

Crafting

Every piece is made with a regular shaped recipe at the crafting table, so you don't need any special workstation. The recipes in this pack are the mod's own recipes and have not been changed by the pack. Plain drawers, drawers with doors and single door cabinets all use the same basic wood pieces. The versions with books and glass doors add one more ingredient.[3]

Tip: The glass door cabinet recipes accept any glass pane in the common glass pane tag, not only vanilla glass panes. Any glass pane from another mod in this pack that is in that tag should work.[3]

Unverified The available material does not say how many slots each drawer or cabinet holds. It also doesn't say whether the furniture works with hoppers, pipes or other automation, or how Small Drawers, Bookshelves with Doors and Glass Cabinets are crafted in this pack.

How do you progress through Storage Delight?

2 parts

Storage Delight doesn't have a tiered progression in this pack. There's no upgrade ladder, no machines and no advanced crafting chain. Every block the mod adds is made with a normal shaped recipe at a crafting table, so you can build any of them right from the start.[3]

The pack uses the mod's own recipes for all of these blocks. Instead of tiers, the mod gives you a set of furniture styles, and each style comes in many wood types. Pick the look that fits your kitchen or storeroom and go.[3]

The furniture styles

Each wood type gets the same set of styles. Here they are, using oak as the example. The recipe cards show exactly what goes into each one in this pack.[3]

Tip: Don't mix up the Oak Cabinet with Glass Doors and the Glass Oak Cabinet. They're two different items with two different recipes, even though both involve glass. Check the recipe card for the one you actually want before you craft a whole wall of them.[3]

Wood types

Every style is available in oak, spruce, birch, jungle, acacia, dark oak, mangrove, cherry, bamboo, crimson and warped. Each version is crafted from the matching wood type, so the oak drawer needs oak materials, the warped drawer needs warped materials, and so on.[3]

Nether wood versions follow the same pattern as the overworld ones.

Tip: Since each wood version needs its own wood materials, decide on your wood type first and stock up on that wood before you start crafting furniture in bulk.[3]

Unverified The sources don't say how many slots each block holds or whether the styles differ in function rather than just looks. Check in-game before assuming one style stores more than another.
