What is Luminax?

2 parts

Luminax is a small decorative mod that adds a handful of simple, single-colored glowing blocks. If you like building with clean, bright blocks, this is the one for you.[1]

It was made to replace Antiblocks in this pack, though it can be used in any pack. It's similar to AntiblocksReChiseled, but it isn't a fork or a copy. Its author describes it as 100% original code.[1]

What it adds

Version in this pack

This pack ships Luminax 1.0.0, using the NeoForge 1.21.1 build of the mod.[2]

Unverified Where Luminax fits into the pack's progression is unconfirmed. The available sources show no quests for the mod and no place on the ATM Star path, so treat it as a purely decorative building option rather than a progression step.

How do you get started with Luminax?

3 parts

Luminax is a simple decoration mod: it adds single-colored glowing blocks. It was made to replace Antiblocks in this pack, and it's similar to AntiblocksReChiseled, though it's original code rather than a fork. There's no progression, no machines and no quests for it, so getting started is just a few crafting steps.[1]

Step 1: Make a colored block

Everything starts with the full block. Each color has its own recipe, and the pack uses a standard glowstone dust tag and a dye tag, so any matching dust or dye works. Black Block is shown here, and the other colors follow the same pattern.[3]

Black is just the example; every color has the same kind of recipe.

Step 2: Craft the shapes

Once you have a block, every other shape is made straight from it. Slab, stairs and wall are shaped recipes, and the button is shapeless, so you can drop a single block into the grid for that one.[3]

Each color has these same shapes, for example luminax:blue_slab and luminax:red_stairs. Start with one color and build what you need before you spend dye on other colors.[3]

Step 3: Recolor instead of starting over

The pack also has a tint recipe that makes a colored block from a dye and any block from the Luminax block tag. The dump shows the black version, so you can recolor blocks you already have. I can only confirm the black one from what I have, but the dump notes 15 more recipes that aren't shown.[3]

The recolor recipe for black. Other colors' versions are not confirmed here.

Unverified The project page lists a pressure plate among the included blocks, but its recipe isn't visible in the pack's recipe dump, so I can't tell you how to craft it. Check the recipe viewer in game. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

How does Luminax work?

3 parts

Here's the honest rundown: Luminax is a pure building-block mod, so there's no machine, multiblock, power, fluid or item-automation system to learn. The project page describes it as a handful of simple, single-colored glowing blocks, and nothing in the available sources describes anything beyond that.[1]

It was made to replace Antiblocks in this pack, and it's described as original code rather than a fork or copy of AntiblocksReChiseled.[1]

What the mod adds

In this pack, the colors I can confirm are black, blue, brown, cyan, gray, green, light blue and light gray, for example luminax:black_block, luminax:cyan_block and luminax:light_gray_block. The recipe list I was given is cut off, so there may be more colors.[3]

How crafting works

Every color follows the same pattern. You craft the full block first, using stone, a glowstone dust and a dye of the matching color. Here's the black version, and the other colors work the same way with their own dye.[3]

Swap the dye to get the other colors.

Everything else is made from that colored full block. The slab, stairs and wall each have their own shaped recipe, and the button is a shapeless recipe. For example, luminax:black_slab, luminax:black_stairs, luminax:black_wall and luminax:black_button all start from luminax:black_block.[3]

Tip: Because every variant is crafted from the colored full block, craft a stack of one color's block first and then split it into slabs, stairs, walls and buttons as your build needs them.[3]

What I couldn't confirm

Unverified The pressure plate is listed on the mod's project page, but its recipe isn't in the part of the recipe list I could see, so I can't say how it's crafted in this pack.

Unverified I found no in-jar guidebook, tooltips or config files for Luminax, so I can't confirm any extra behavior, such as light levels or redstone details, beyond what's written above.

How do you progress through Luminax?

3 parts

Luminax doesn't have a tier ladder to climb. Every recipe for it in this pack is a decorative colored block or a shape made from one, so there's nothing to unlock in stages. Here's the order the recipes chain together.[3]

First, craft a colored block

Everything starts with a colored block, and there is one for every dye color, from luminax:white_block to luminax:black_block. You craft them in a crafting table, and the dye you use decides the color. Here's the Black Block as the example, and the other colors follow the same pattern.[3]

Then, turn blocks into shapes

Once you have a colored block, you can craft its matching slab, stairs, wall and button. Every color gets the same set of shapes. Slabs, stairs and walls are shaped crafting recipes, while buttons are shapeless.[3]

Recoloring existing blocks

Changed your mind about a color? This pack also has a tint recipe for each color. It uses a dye of the color you want together with a Luminax block, and gives you a block in that dye's color, so you don't have to start over from scratch.[3]

The same pattern exists for every color.

Tip: Because the tint recipe works on Luminax blocks from the mod's block tag, you can craft one color and recolor it into another instead of building each color separately.[3]
