What is KeyBind Bundles?

KeyBind Bundles is part of this pack at version 1.2.1. It has been in the lineup since pack version 2.36 or earlier, so it isn't a new addition.[1]

Unverified The available sources don't describe what KeyBind Bundles adds, how it works, who it's aimed at, or where it fits in the pack's progression. Check it out in-game to see what it offers.

How do you get started with KeyBind Bundles?

1 part

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

Here's what I can confirm about KeyBind Bundles in this pack: a bundle holds entries, and you manage those entries with simple mouse clicks. The tooltips tell you what each click does.[2]

Managing entries in a bundle

  • Left click edits an entry.[2]
  • Shift Left Click deletes an entry, so be careful with that one.[2]
  • Right click moves an entry clockwise.[2]
  • Shift Right Click moves an entry counterclockwise.[2]
Tip: Deleting uses Shift plus Left Click, and editing uses a plain Left Click. If you only want to change an entry, leave Shift alone.[2]

Unverified I couldn't confirm which item you craft first, or whether this pack has a recipe or quest for this mod, so there is no crafting step or recipe block here. Check the in-game recipe viewer for the mod's items. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

How does KeyBind Bundles work?

2 parts

KeyBind Bundles doesn't come with machines, multiblocks or power systems to explain. Its core mechanic is how you manage the entries inside a bundle, and the pack also sets one client-side config option you should know about.[3][4]

Managing bundle entries

You manage a bundle's entries directly with mouse clicks. Left and right click each do one thing, and holding Shift switches each of them to a different action.[3]

  • Left click an entry to edit it.[3]
  • Shift + Left Click an entry to delete it.[3]
  • Right click an entry to move it clockwise.[3]
  • Shift + Right Click an entry to move it counterclockwise.[3]
Watch out: Plain Left Click only edits an entry, but Shift + Left Click deletes it. Watch your Shift key while you rearrange things so you don't remove an entry by accident.[3]

Because entries move clockwise and counterclockwise, you can think of them as sitting in a ring. Right click and Shift + Right Click step an entry around that ring one way or the other until it's where you want it.[3]

Client config in this pack

This pack sets ignoreInvalidKeyChecks to true in the client config. The config comment explains that this option makes the mod ignore invalid key checks in InputConstants#isKeyDown, and it comes with a clear warning to only use it if you know what you're doing.[4]

Tip: The pack already sets this option to true, so you don't need to touch it. If you've edited your client config and want to match the pack again, set it back to true.[4]

Unverified The mod's default value for ignoreInvalidKeyChecks isn't confirmed, so it's unclear whether the pack changed it from the default.

Unverified How you open a bundle, add new entries or trigger entries in-game isn't covered by the available sources.

Which KeyBind Bundles config options matter?

1 part

KeyBind Bundles keeps its settings in a client-side config file, which means it lives on your own game install rather than on the server. The pack only gives one option in that file, and it's worth knowing about before you start tweaking anything.[4]

Ignore invalid key checks

The pack sets ignoreInvalidKeyChecks to true. The option's own description says it makes the game ignore invalid key checks in InputConstants#isKeyDown, which is the code that asks whether a key is currently held down.[4]

Watch out: The config file itself labels this option with a clear warning: only use it if you know what you're doing. The pack already has it switched on, so the safest move is to leave it exactly as it ships unless you have a specific reason to change it.[4]

Unverified The available files don't show the mod's default value for this option, so it's unconfirmed whether the pack changed it or kept the default. They also don't explain why the pack turns it on or what happens in practice if you turn it off.

What changed in KeyBind Bundles between versions?

KeyBind Bundles has been part of All the Mods 10 since version 2.36 of the pack, where it was added at mod version 1.1.0.[5]

  • All the Mods 10 2.36: KeyBind Bundles 1.1.0 was added to the pack.[5]
  • All the Mods 10 2.37: KeyBind Bundles was updated from 1.1.0 to 1.2.0.[6]
  • All the Mods 10 2.47: KeyBind Bundles was updated from 1.2.0 to 1.2.1.[7]

If you're playing All the Mods 10 3.2, you're on KeyBind Bundles 1.2.1, shipped as the file keybindbundles-1.2.1.jar.[1]

Unverified The pack changelogs only record the version bumps. They don't say what changed inside the mod in the 1.2.0 and 1.2.1 updates, and the mod's own changelogs weren't available, so the specific features or fixes in each update can't be confirmed here.
