What is KeyBind Bundles?

KeyBind Bundles is included in this pack. This version of the pack ships KeyBind Bundles 1.4.0 (keybindbundles-1.4.0.jar), and the mod was already in the pack as of version 2.36 or earlier, so it's a long-standing part of the modlist.[1]

Unverified The pack's files don't describe what KeyBind Bundles does, who it is meant for, or whether the pack changes any of its settings. I won't guess at its features here. Check the mod's own page or its in-game controls screen for details.

Unverified I found no quests in this pack that involve KeyBind Bundles, and it doesn't appear to be on the ATM Star path. It has no place in the pack's progression that I can confirm.

How do you get started with KeyBind Bundles?

1 part

Here's what I can confirm about KeyBind Bundles in this pack: a bundle holds entries, and you manage those entries with simple mouse clicks. The tooltips tell you what each click does.[2]

Managing entries in a bundle

  • Left click edits an entry.[2]
  • Shift Left Click deletes an entry, so be careful with that one.[2]
  • Right click moves an entry clockwise.[2]
  • Shift Right Click moves an entry counterclockwise.[2]
Tip: Deleting uses Shift plus Left Click, and editing uses a plain Left Click. If you only want to change an entry, leave Shift alone.[2]

Unverified I couldn't confirm which item you craft first, or whether this pack has a recipe or quest for this mod, so there is no crafting step or recipe block here. Check the in-game recipe viewer for the mod's items. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

How does KeyBind Bundles work?

2 parts

The sources for KeyBind Bundles don't describe machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or item automation, so none of those are covered here. What they do confirm is how you manage the entries in a bundle, plus one client config option the pack sets.[2][3]

Managing bundle entries

The bundle's tooltips show the mouse actions for working with its entries. Each one is a click, and Shift changes what the click does.[2]

  • Left click edits an entry.[2]
  • Shift Left Click deletes an entry.[2]
  • Right click moves an entry clockwise.[2]
  • Shift Right Click moves an entry counterclockwise.[2]
Watch out: Shift Left Click deletes an entry, while a plain Left click only edits it. Keep the Shift key in mind before you click.[2]

Pack config

The pack sets ignoreInvalidKeyChecks to true in the client config file. The option's own comment says to only use it if you know what you're doing, and describes it as ignoring invalid key checks in InputConstants#isKeyDown.[3]

Tip: Unless you know why you need to change it, leave this option at the value the pack ships.[3]

Unverified The sources here don't show how bundles are crafted or obtained: no recipes for this mod's items were found, and no in-jar guidebook was available. Any deeper mechanics are not confirmed either.

How do you progress through KeyBind Bundles?

2 parts

KeyBind Bundles has no tiers and no upgrade path in this pack, so there is nothing to climb here. It is a quality-of-life feature you can set up whenever you like. The pack's quest book covers it in one quest, a quest in "Tips and Tricks", in the Tips and Tricks chapter.[4]

That quest is a plain checkmark. Unlike most quests in the chapter, it doesn't ask you to obtain or craft any particular item. It just explains the idea: if you have more keybinds than physical keys, you group them into a bundle and open them from a radial menu.[4]

Setting up your first bundle

  1. Go to Options, then Controls, then open the Keybinds screen. The KeyBind Bundles category should be the first one.[4]
  2. Click the Add key bundle button and enter a name for your bundle.[4]
  3. Click the Edit button on the bundle, hover over the radial menu in the middle and click Add entry.[4]
  4. The keybinds screen opens again, this time with a select button on each keybind. Pick the bindings you want in the bundle.[4]
  5. Edit each entry in the radial menu to give it a custom name and item icon if you want.[4]
  6. Press escape to leave the edit menu, then bind the bundle itself to a key.[4]

Using a bundle in game

Press and hold the key you assigned to bring up the radial menu. Hover over an entry and left click to trigger that keybind.[4]

You can also bookmark an entry by right clicking it. Once bookmarked, pressing the bundle's key triggers that mapping straight away without opening the radial menu. To open the menu again while a key is bookmarked, hold the Radial menu modifier, which is Left alt by default. The bookmarked entry is highlighted red in the radial menu.[4]

Tip: Bundles are a good home for keybinds you rarely use. You stop swapping keys around and don't have to remember which key does what, because each entry can have its own name and icon.[4]

Which All the Mods 10 quests use KeyBind Bundles?

3 parts

Keybind Bundles shows up in one place in the quest book: the "Tips and Tricks" chapter. The quest is a quest in "Tips and Tricks", and it has no title of its own. Its subtitle is "Radial Menus for Keybinds".[4]

Unlike most quests in that chapter, this one doesn't ask you to hold or craft an item. It's a simple checkmark quest, and the text is a short how-to for the mod. The quest book gives it no prerequisite.[4]

What the quest teaches you

The quest pitches the mod for anyone with more keybinds than physical keys, or who is tired of swapping rarely used keys around. It splits into two parts: creating a bundle, then using it.[4]

Creating a bundle

  1. Go to Options, then Controls, then open the Keybinds screen. The KeyBind Bundles category should be the first one. Click the Add key bundle button and type a name for your bundle.[4]
  2. Click the Edit button on the bundle. In the new screen, hover over the radial menu in the middle and click Add entry.[4]
  3. The keybinds screen opens again, but now every keybind has a select button. Pick the bindings you want in the bundle.[4]
  4. Edit each entry in the radial menu if you like, giving it a custom name and an item icon.[4]
  5. Press escape to leave the edit screen, then bind the bundle itself to a key.[4]

Using a bundle in game

Press and hold the key you assigned to bring up the radial menu. Hover over an entry and left click to trigger that keybind.[4]

You can also bookmark an entry by right clicking it. Once something is bookmarked, pressing the bundle's key triggers that mapping straight away, without opening the radial menu.[4]

Tip: With a bookmarked entry, you can still open the radial menu by holding the Radial menu modifier, which is Left alt by default. The bookmarked entry is highlighted red in the menu.[4]

Which KeyBind Bundles config options matter?

KeyBind Bundles only has one client-side option that the pack gives us any information about, and it's the one you'd want to know about before touching the file. It lives in the client config, so it only affects your own game.[3]

  • ignoreInvalidKeyChecks is set to true in this pack. The config comment describes it as ignoring invalid key checks in InputConstants#isKeyDown, and it warns you to only use it if you know what you're doing.[3]
Watch out: The config file itself warns that this option is only for people who know what they're doing. If your keybinds behave oddly, don't flip it without a good reason.[3]

Unverified The sources don't state the mod's default for this option, so we can't confirm whether the pack changed it. No other KeyBind Bundles options are covered here.

Unverified The pack changelogs only record version bumps, and no mod changelogs are stored for the shipped jars. What each KeyBind Bundles update actually changed (features, fixes or config) is unverified here.

Items and blocks

We can't match this mod to the pack's item list: it registers as keybindbundles, and the pack's recipe dump has nothing under that name. That means we found nothing, not that the mod adds nothing. Search the item browser
