What is IntegratedTunnels?

1 part

IntegratedTunnels is in the pack at version 1.8.41, and it has been there since version 2.2 or earlier. In this pack it shows up as a set of logistics parts: importers, exporters and interfaces.[1]

You get importers and exporters for items, fluids and energy, such as Part Importer Item, Part Exporter Fluid and Part Exporter Energy. There are also world versions, like Part Importer World Block and Part Exporter World Item. The interfaces come in item, fluid and energy flavors, for example Part Interface Item.[2][3]

Where it shows up in the quest book

The mod appears in two quest chapters, so you will run into it as part of normal progression. The quests are untitled in the data I have, so the list below describes what each one asks you to obtain.[2][3]

  • In the basic_logistics chapter, three quests each pair an importer with an interface: a quest in "?" for items, a quest in "?" for fluids and a quest in "?" for energy.[2]
  • In the integrated_dynamics chapter, a quest in "?" accepts any of the item, fluid or energy interfaces.[3]
  • Also in integrated_dynamics, a quest in "?" accepts any exporter, including the world block, item, fluid and energy variants.[3]
  • Again in integrated_dynamics, a quest in "?" accepts any importer, including the world block, item, fluid and energy variants.[3]

Unverified The available data does not describe what each part does in detail, and it does not place IntegratedTunnels on the ATM Star path. Check in-game before relying on either.

How do you get started with IntegratedTunnels?

4 parts

IntegratedTunnels moves items, fluids and energy around, and in this pack every part you craft builds on Integrated Dynamics items. The order below follows how the recipes chain together, so each step feeds the next.[4]

Start with an interface

Interfaces are the base of the whole mod. You get three flavours: Part Interface Item, Part Interface Fluid and Part Interface Energy. Craft the type you need first. The quest a quest in "?" in the integrated_dynamics chapter accepts any one of the three.[3][4]

The item interface is a shaped recipe, and the importer and exporter recipes below start from it.

Turn it into an importer or exporter

Next, upgrade the interface into an importer or an exporter. The item versions are Part Importer Item and Part Exporter Item. Fluid and energy have their own versions, such as Part Importer Fluid and Part Exporter Energy.[4]

The quest book follows the same path. In the basic_logistics chapter, a quest in "?" asks for an item importer and an item interface. a quest in "?" does the same for fluids, and a quest in "?" for energy. In the integrated_dynamics chapter, a quest in "?" accepts any importer and a quest in "?" accepts any exporter, including the world versions.[2][3]

Reach into the world

Once you have a basic importer or exporter, you can upgrade it into a world version of the same kind. Examples are Part Importer World Item and Part Exporter World Item, and there are fluid and energy variants too. Each one is a shapeless upgrade of the matching basic part.[4]

The block versions, Part Importer World Block and Part Exporter World Block, are built from the matching item importer or exporter. The mod's own advancements hint at what they do: breaking stone with a World Block Importer, and placing logs with a World Block Exporter.[4][5]

Filtering and the Player Simulator

If you only want an interface to expose part of an inventory, craft a filtering interface such as Part Interface Filter Item. It is a shapeless upgrade of the matching interface. The mod's advancements give example uses: exposing an inventory's contents only during daytime, or only passing items from a certain mod.[4][5]

Save Part Player Simulator for last. Its recipe needs the world block and world item versions of both the importer and the exporter, so you only get there after the steps above. One of the mod's advancements has you click with a Diamond Sword using it.[4][5]

How does IntegratedTunnels work?

7 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

IntegratedTunnels is all about parts that move items, fluids and energy. Every part comes in an item, fluid or energy flavour, plus world-facing versions that act on blocks, entities and dropped items. Here is how the pieces fit together and what they cost to run in this pack.[6][7]

Interfaces: the entry point

Everything starts with an interface: Part Interface Item, Part Interface Fluid or Part Interface Energy. In this pack's config their base energy usage is 0, so sitting in your network costs nothing.[7][8]

Recipe id: integratedtunnels:crafting/part_interface_item

If you want to control what passes through an interface, craft a filtering version such as Part Interface Filter Item. It is made from the matching plain interface, so you can upgrade one you already have.[7]

Crafting Shapeless

Recipe id: integratedtunnels:crafting/part_interface_filter_item

The mod's own advancement descriptions show what filtering interfaces can do. One only exposes an inventory's contents during daytime. Another only passes items from a certain mod.[6]

Importers and exporters

Importers pull things into the network and exporters push things out of it. You get one of each for items, fluids and energy, for example Part Importer Item and Part Exporter Item. Each one is crafted from the interface of the same type.[7]

Crafting Shapeless

Recipe id: integratedtunnels:crafting/part_importer_item

Crafting Shapeless

Recipe id: integratedtunnels:crafting/part_exporter_item

The mod's descriptions say importers and exporters are driven by a boolean you supply. For items, for example, "Import items if the boolean is true" and "Export items if the boolean is true". Fluids and energy work the same way. The advancement text also shows that an exporter can be driven by a list of items, or by an operator such as the Enchantable Operator.[6]

In this pack's config, the base energy usage of the item importer and exporter is 1, for example general.general.importerItemBaseConsumption and general.general.exporterItemBaseConsumption. The fluid and energy importers and exporters are set to 1 as well. The config doesn't state the unit.[8]

World parts

The world versions work on the block or entities in front of them. Block parts like Part Importer World Block pick up blocks, and Part Exporter World Block places them. The world item, fluid and energy parts also have entity-facing aspects. These import from or export to the facing entities.[6][7]

Crafting Shapeless

Recipe id: integratedtunnels:crafting/part_exporter_world_block

World parts have a different base energy cost depending on whether a variable is set. For the world block exporter, general.general.exporterWorldBlockBaseConsumptionDisabled is 1 and general.general.exporterWorldBlockBaseConsumptionEnabled is 32.[8]

The world item, fluid and energy importers and exporters follow the same pattern, with settings ending in Disabled and Enabled. The block and item importers do too, for example general.general.importerWorldItemBaseConsumptionEnabled.[8]

Watch out: A world block exporter that is running on a variable costs 32 base energy usage, compared with 1 when it has no variable. Keep this in mind before you build a large farm of world parts.[8]

Several world aspects take numeric settings. Offsets on each axis are values between 0 and 1. Yaw and pitch run from -180 to 180 degrees. Entity velocity is between 0 and 25. The entity index picks the n-th entity, and -1 always picks a random one.[6]

The world block option "break no drops" only breaks a block if it produces drops. "Match block" matches the item form of the block instead of its dropped items.[6]

Player Simulator

Part Player Simulator clicks like a player. It can click with any item or with an empty hand. Optionally it simulates sneaking, and it can hold a continuous click. If continuous click is off, each click takes one tick. In this pack its base usage is 1 without a variable and 64 with one.[6][7][8]

Filtering and matching options

The mod exposes a lot of matching toggles. These are the ones that matter most for automation:[6]

  • Blacklist: handle everything except the items in the given list.[6]
  • Empty is any: an empty value matches everything. Otherwise it matches nothing.[6]
  • Exact amount and check stack size: only move things when the amount matches exactly, not less.[6]
  • NBT require, subset, superset and recursive: control how NBT tags are compared for items and fluids.[6]
  • Round robin: iterate interfaces in circular order and ignore priorities.[6]
  • Craft: craft the instance if it is not present in the network.[6]

Filtering interfaces also have options for whether the filter applies to insertions into the network or to extractions from it. A separate option decides whether everything passes when the filter is disabled for one of those directions.[6]

Reading the network

The mod can also report on your storage. Aspects return the number of valid item or fluid interfaces, the list of items or fluids in the network, the total count and the upper limit of what it can hold. A count-by-item or count-by-fluid operator reports how much of one specific thing you have.[6]

Performance and safety settings

Tip: Because overflow ejection is on in this pack, items won't be silently voided when a World Block Importer breaks something and the target is full. They will drop in the world instead, so keep the area clear.[8]

How do you progress through IntegratedTunnels?

5 parts

IntegratedTunnels progression in this pack is a chain of upgrades. You craft a basic interface for items, fluids or energy, then turn it into an importer or exporter, and then into a world-facing version. The quests only cover the first few steps, so the rest you follow through the recipes.[2][3][4]

Starting point: Interfaces

Everything starts with the three interfaces: Part Interface Item, Part Interface Fluid and Part Interface Energy. They are the base for every other part in the mod.[3][4]

In the integrated_dynamics quest chapter, one quest a quest in "?" is completed by handing in any one of the three interfaces.[3]

Tier 2: Filter interfaces

Each interface can be upgraded to a filter version: Part Interface Filter Item, Part Interface Filter Fluid and Part Interface Filter Energy. These are shapeless recipes that take the matching interface as an input. The sources show no quest for them.[4]

Tier 3: Importers and exporters

Importers and exporters come in item, fluid and energy versions. The importers are Part Importer Item, Part Importer Fluid and Part Importer Energy. The exporters are Part Exporter Item, Part Exporter Fluid and Part Exporter Energy.[4]

This is where most of the quests are. The basic_logistics chapter has three quests, each needing an importer and an interface of the same type, one each for items a quest in "?", fluids a quest in "?" and energy a quest in "?". All three unlock after the same two earlier quests.[2][3]

The integrated_dynamics chapter has two more. a quest in "?" accepts any one importer, including the world versions, and a quest in "?" accepts any one exporter, including the world versions.[2][3]

Tier 4: World importers and exporters

The world versions work on the world instead of on an inventory. The importers are Part Importer World Item, Part Importer World Fluid and Part Importer World Energy. The exporters are Part Exporter World Item, Part Exporter World Fluid and Part Exporter World Energy.[4]

Tip: Both quest chapters let you hand in one item from a list, so you don't need to craft every variant to finish them. The recipes in this pack are listed as the mod's own recipes, and I found no sign of pack changes in the sources.[3][4]

How does IntegratedTunnels work with other mods?

4 parts

IntegratedTunnels doesn't stand alone in this pack. Every recipe that involves it pulls in items from Integrated Dynamics, and a few also use vanilla Minecraft items. If you want tunnels, you'll be crafting with Integrated Dynamics parts too.[4]

Interfaces start with Integrated Dynamics

The item, fluid and energy interfaces (Part Interface Item, Part Interface Fluid and Part Interface Energy) are the base for everything else. Each one needs Crystallized Menril Chunk plus a second item that matches its type. The fluid interface uses a vanilla Bucket and the energy interface uses an Energy Battery. The item interface takes any wooden chest from the c:chests/wooden tag.[4]

Importers and exporters use variable transformers

To turn an interface into an importer, you combine it with the Input Variable Transformer. For an exporter, you use the Output Variable Transformer instead. This works the same way for item, fluid and energy.[4]

World variants use the Logic Director

The world importers and exporters for items, fluids and energy are made by combining the matching normal importer or exporter with an Logic Director.[4]

Crafting Shapeless

Recipe id: integratedtunnels:crafting/part_importer_world_item

The world block importer and exporter go a step further. They start from the item importer or exporter, add a Logic Director, and also need a vanilla Diamond Pickaxe.[4]

Quests that tie it together

The quest book also links the two mods. The integrated_dynamics chapter has a quest for obtaining any of the three interfaces (a quest in "?"). It also has one for any exporter, including the world variants (a quest in "?"), and one for any importer (a quest in "?").[3]

The basic_logistics chapter has three quests, one each for item, fluid and energy. Each asks for the matching importer and interface: a quest in "?" for items, a quest in "?" for fluids and a quest in "?" for energy.[2]

Which All the Mods 10 quests use IntegratedTunnels?

2 parts

Two quest chapters in the pack ask for IntegratedTunnels parts: "basic_logistics" and "integrated_dynamics". All of these quests are untitled in the quest data, so this section refers to them by their IDs.[2][3]

Basic Logistics chapter

This chapter has three IntegratedTunnels quests. Each one asks you to hand in an importer and the matching interface for one resource type: fluids, items or energy. All three unlock after the same two prerequisite quests, so once you have finished those you can take them in any order.[2]

Integrated Dynamics chapter

This chapter has three more IntegratedTunnels quests. Each is a single task that accepts any one of several parts, so you only need one item from the list. Each quest unlocks after a different prerequisite quest. The sources don't show the order between these three, so I'm not claiming one.[3]

Tip: The Integrated Dynamics quests accept any one part from their list. Craft whichever importer, exporter or interface suits your setup first, and it will complete the quest.[3]

Which IntegratedTunnels config options matter?

4 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

The IntegratedTunnels options in this pack live in config/integratedtunnels-common.toml. Most of them are about how much energy your tunnels use, plus a few options for what happens to items when something goes wrong. Here's how this pack sets the ones you're most likely to care about.[8]

Energy use of importers and exporters

The plain item, fluid and energy importers and exporters are cheap in this pack. general.general.importerItemBaseConsumption and general.general.exporterItemBaseConsumption are both 1, and the fluid and energy versions (general.general.importerFluidBaseConsumption, general.general.exporterFluidBaseConsumption, general.general.importerEnergyBaseConsumption, general.general.exporterEnergyBaseConsumption) are 1 as well.[8]

The interfaces cost nothing to run. general.general.interfaceItemBaseConsumption, general.general.interfaceFluidBaseConsumption and general.general.interfaceEnergyBaseConsumption are all 0.[8]

World interaction costs more with a variable

Each world importer and exporter (block, item, fluid and energy) has a setting for when it has no variable and a separate setting for when it does. Without a variable they use 1, for example general.general.importerWorldBlockBaseConsumptionDisabled. With a variable they use 32, for example general.general.exporterWorldItemBaseConsumptionEnabled. The same 1 versus 32 split applies to all the world fluid, energy and block variants.[8]

The player simulator is the most expensive. It uses 1 without a variable (general.general.playerSimulatorBaseConsumptionDisabled) and 64 with one (general.general.playerSimulatorBaseConsumptionEnabled).[8]

Tip: If a setup with variables drains your power faster than you expected, look at the world importers, world exporters and the player simulator first. Their with-variable costs of 32 and 64 are far above the 1 of the basic tunnels.[8]

Item safety and performance

Analytics and version checking

core.general.analytics and core.general.versionChecker are both false in this pack, so the anonymous startup analytics request and the version checker are off.[8]

What changed in IntegratedTunnels between versions?

All the Mods 10 4.5 ships IntegratedTunnels 1.8.41. The mod has been in the pack since All the Mods 10 2.2 or earlier, so it's a long-standing part of the pack.[1]

The pack changelogs only record version bumps for this mod. Here's the update trail, newest first:[9][10][11][12][13][14][15]

  • All the Mods 10 4.0: updated from 1.8.40 to 1.8.41. This is the version still in 4.5.[1][9]
  • All the Mods 10 3.2: updated from 1.8.37 to 1.8.40.[10]
  • All the Mods 10 2.42: updated from 1.8.36 to 1.8.37.[11]
  • All the Mods 10 2.40: updated from 1.8.35 to 1.8.36.[12]
  • All the Mods 10 2.37: updated from 1.8.34 to 1.8.35.[13]
  • All the Mods 10 2.36: updated from 1.8.33 to 1.8.34.[14]
  • All the Mods 10 2.33: updated from 1.8.32 to 1.8.33.[15]

Unverified What actually changed inside each IntegratedTunnels release (new features, fixes or balance changes) is unverified. The pack changelogs list only the version numbers, and no changelogs are stored for the shipped jars.
