What is Fireproof Boats?
Fireproof Boats is part of the pack's mod list. This pack ships version 1.21.1-1.0.4 of the mod, built for Minecraft 1.21.1. It has been in the pack since version 2.44 or earlier, so it isn't a recent addition.[1]
Unverified The sources I have don't describe what Fireproof Boats does in detail, such as its boat types, recipes or config options. They also don't show where it fits in the pack's progression, and they don't show it on the ATM Star path or tied to any quest. Treat any of that as unconfirmed until it's checked in game.
How do you get started with Fireproof Boats?
3 parts
Fireproof Boats adds crimson and warped boats, and each wood type comes in a plain version and a chest version. Everything in this section is crafted, so the order below is simply the order that makes the most sense.[2]
First: make a plain boat
Start with the Crimson Boat or the Warped Boat, depending on which wood you have. Each has its own crafting recipe, and you need a plain boat first because the chest versions are built from it.[2]
The crimson boat is a shaped crafting recipe from the mod.
The warped boat is a shaped crafting recipe from the mod.
Next: upgrade to a chest boat
The Crimsom Boat with Chest and Warped Boat with Chest are shapeless recipes that start from the matching plain boat plus a wooden chest, so you can't skip the plain boat. Make these when you want a boat with a chest on board.[2]

A shortcut this pack adds
The pack adds sawmill woodcutting recipes for the boats, so a sawmill gives you another route besides the crafting grid. These are pack additions, not part of the mod's own recipes, and they work straight from the raw wood, which is handy if you'd rather skip crafting planks first.[2]
Added by the pack: a sawmill woodcutting recipe for the crimson boat.
Added by the pack: a sawmill woodcutting recipe for the warped boat.
The chest boats have sawmill recipes too, so you can skip the plain boat step there as well.[2]

How does Fireproof Boats work?
3 parts
The sources for this mod only cover how its boats are crafted and one client-side rendering option, so this section is short. They don't describe machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or automation for Fireproof Boats.[2][3]
Getting the boats
The mod adds a Crimson and a Warped variant, each with a plain boat and a chest version: Crimson Boat, Crimsom Boat with Chest, Warped Boat and Warped Boat with Chest. The plain boats use a shaped crafting recipe, shown below.[2]
The chest versions use a shapeless recipe, so the layout doesn't matter. You combine the matching plain boat with any chest from the wooden chests tag.[2]

Sawmill shortcut
The pack adds its own woodcutting recipes for every one of these boats, plain and chest versions, so you can also make them at a sawmill. These are pack additions and not part of the mod itself. The recipes take the matching Crimson or Warped stems and hyphae, including the stripped versions.[2]

The lava rendering option
The only config the sources show is a client setting, Client.changeLavaRenderType. It changes the render type for lava to fix lava being visible inside boats. The config notes that it is a potential performance hit and recommends turning it off on low end systems. This pack sets it to false.[3]
How do you progress through Fireproof Boats?
3 parts
Fireproof Boats has no tier ladder in this pack. It adds a crimson boat family and a warped boat family, and each family has a plain boat and a chest version. You unlock a family as soon as you have the matching planks, stems or hyphae.[2]
Unverified The sources here do not show any quest for this mod. If you want to know whether the pack's quest book mentions the boats, check the quest book itself.
Crimson boats
The Crimson Boat is crafted from crimson planks. The chest version, Crimsom Boat with Chest, is a shapeless craft that takes the finished crimson boat plus any wooden chest, so you make the plain boat first when you use the crafting grid.[2]
Crafting Shapeless
- any wooden chest

Warped boats
The warped family follows the same pattern. The Warped Boat is crafted from warped planks, and the Warped Boat with Chest is the finished warped boat combined with any wooden chest.[2]

Sawmill shortcuts added by the pack
The pack adds its own sawmill woodcutting recipes for every boat in both families. You can turn crimson or warped stems and hyphae, stripped or not, straight into a boat. The chest boats have their own sawmill recipes too, so on this route you skip the plain boat step.[2]

Which Fireproof Boats config options matter?
1 part
Fireproof Boats has very little to configure in this pack. The only option in the client config that the sources cover is Client.changeLavaRenderType, and it's the one you'll want to know about if you sail boats through lava.[3]
Change lava render type
This option changes the render type for lava to fix lava being visible inside boats. The config notes that it's a potential performance hit, and it recommends turning it off on low-end systems. This pack sets it to false, so the fix is switched off.[3]
Unverified I couldn't confirm the mod's own default for this option, so I can't say whether the pack changed it. The file only shows the value this pack uses.
What changed in Fireproof Boats between versions?
The sources only cover a small slice of this mod's history in the pack, so this section is short. Fireproof Boats has been in All the Mods 10 since version 2.42 or earlier, and All the Mods 10 4.10 ships version 1.21.1-1.0.4.[1]
- All the Mods 10 2.44: Fireproof Boats was updated from 1.21.0-1.0.3 to 1.21.1-1.0.4.[4]
- All the Mods 10 4.10: still on Fireproof Boats 1.21.1-1.0.4, so that is the version you get in this pack.[1]
Unverified What actually changed inside the mod between 1.0.3 and 1.0.4 is unverified. No changelog for the shipped jars is stored in the sources here, so they do not show whether any boats, recipes or behavior changed.
