What is Cyclops Core?
Cyclops Core is a mod that ships in the pack as version 1.25.5, built for Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge (file cyclopscore-1.21.1-neoforge-1.25.5-683.jar). It has been in the pack since version 0.32 or earlier, so it's a long-standing part of the mod list.[1]
Unverified The sources I have don't describe what Cyclops Core does or who it is for, so I'm not guessing about its features here. They also don't show any quests that involve it, and it isn't on the ATM Star path, so there's no progression placement to give you. Check back if more details get added.
How do you get started with Cyclops Core?
1 part
Unverified The sources here show no quests that involve Cyclops Core and no recipes that produce its items, so a first-items crafting order for it cannot be confirmed and there is no recipe block in this section.
What you can see in the pack
The pack ships a config file for it, config/cyclopscore-common.toml. It has the options general.general.devDisableMusic and general.general.devWorldButton, and the pack sets both to true.[2]
Both are described as applying when in a dev environment. The first turns music off at startup, and the second adds a main menu button that opens a dev world (shift-click creates a new world).[2]
The mod's language file also has chat messages for commands that update a config value and that light a player on fire for a number of ticks. It has an Information Book screen label too, but the sources here don't say how you would get or use one in this pack.[3]
How does Cyclops Core work?
3 parts
The sources for this mod are thin, so this section is short. The language file and the pack's config don't describe any machines, multiblocks, power, fluid or item handling for Cyclops Core, so I won't make any up.[2][3]
Commands
The mod's chat messages show that it has commands. One can set a player on fire for a given number of ticks, and the feedback messages report when a player isn't found. Another changes a config value, reporting 'Updated' with the option and its new value. It also gives errors for an invalid subcommand, invalid arguments, an invalid new value, or when you don't define exactly one new value. If no config values can be set, you get a message saying none were found. The exact command names and syntax aren't in the sources.[3]
Screen labels
The language file also has some interface labels: Information Book, Rewards, Search, Scroll, and the directions Up, Down, Left and Right. They hint at an in-game information book screen with searching and scrolling, but the sources don't explain how it works or which items open it.[3]
Pack config
The pack sets both options in the common config file to true. general.general.devDisableMusic disables music at startup when running in a dev environment. general.general.devWorldButton adds a main menu button that opens a dev world, and shift-click creates a new world. Both descriptions say they apply only in a dev environment, so you shouldn't notice them in normal play.[2]
Which Cyclops Core config options matter?
Cyclops Core has very little for you to tweak in this pack. The only options in its common config file are two developer-environment settings, so most players will never need to open it.[2]
- general.general.devDisableMusic is set to true. According to the config comment, it disables music at startup when running in a dev environment.[2]
- general.general.devWorldButton is set to true. According to the config comment, it adds a button to the main menu that opens a dev world in a dev environment, and shift-clicking it creates a new world.[2]
Both options only apply in a dev environment, which is a modder's setup rather than a normal game install. Playing the pack as usual, you shouldn't see any change from them.[2]
Unverified The sources don't show Cyclops Core's own default values for these two options, so it's unconfirmed whether the pack changed either one.
