What is Cyclops Core?

This pack ships Cyclops Core at version 1.22.0, in the file cyclopscore-1.21.1-neoforge-1.22.0.jar. It has been in the pack since version 0.32 or earlier, so it isn't a recent addition.[1]

Unverified The sources I have don't describe what Cyclops Core does in this pack, who it is meant for, or where it fits in the progression. No in-jar guidebook or platform description was available, so I'm not guessing at its features.

Unverified This mod is not on the ATM Star quest path, and no quests in this pack involve it. Nothing I was given covers recipes, configs or items from the cyclopscore namespace, so this section stays short rather than inventing details.

How do you get started with Cyclops Core?

1 part

Cyclops Core is a library mod. Its job is to support other mods, so there is no first item to craft and no progression to follow for it on its own.[2]

Unverified No recipes or quests for this mod were found in the data available for this guide, so there is no confirmed first item to make and no confirmed quest to start with.

What you can check in the pack

The mod's config file is general.general.devDisableMusic and its neighbour below. Both only matter in a dev environment, which is not how you normally play. In this pack, general.general.devDisableMusic is set to true, so music is disabled at startup there. general.general.devWorldButton is set to false, so no dev world button is added to the main menu.[3]

The mod's own text also shows it has some in-game command feedback. There are messages for updating a config value, for reporting that no settable config values were found, and for lighting a player on fire for a number of seconds. It also has a screen string named "Information Book". The sources do not give the command names or syntax, so check them in game before relying on them.[2]

Tip: If another mod in the pack asks for Cyclops Core, you don't need to do anything with it. Just leave it installed.[2]

How does Cyclops Core work?

3 parts

What the sources show for this mod is a small set of command feedback messages, shared screen labels and a few dev-only config options. They don't describe machines, multiblocks or automation, so this section sticks to what is confirmed.[2][3]

Command feedback

The mod's language file has chat messages for a command that changes config values in game. It reports "Updated %s to: %s" when a value is changed. It also reports invalid arguments, an invalid subcommand and an invalid new value, and it asks you to define one new value if that is missing. If nothing can be changed, you get a message saying no config values were found that can be set.[2]

There is also a message for lighting a player on fire for a number of seconds, plus an error when the named player is not found.[2]

Interface texts

The mod defines a few shared screen labels: Information Book, Rewards, Search and Scroll, along with Up, Down, Left and Right.[2]

Config

The pack ships a common config file for this mod. Both options in it only matter in a dev environment, so you won't normally notice them while playing.[3]

Which Cyclops Core config options matter?

Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide

Cyclops Core has very little for you to tweak in this pack. The only options in its common config file are two developer settings, and both only matter in a dev environment. For normal play you can leave this file alone.[4]

  • general.general.devDisableMusic is set to true in this pack. In a dev environment, it disables music at startup.[4]
  • general.general.devWorldButton is set to false in this pack. When enabled in a dev environment, it adds a main menu button that opens a dev world, and shift-clicking creates a new world. With it off, you won't see that button.[4]

Unverified The sources don't show Cyclops Core's own default values for these options, so it isn't confirmed whether the pack changed either one from the mod default.
