What is Construction Sticks?
Same as in the All the Mods 11 0.10.0-beta guide
Construction Sticks is part of the pack, and this version ships Construction Sticks 3.2.1 (the file is ConstructionSticks-26.1.2-3.2.1.jar).[1]
It is not a recent addition. It was first included in version 0.0.1 or earlier, so it has been there for the whole life of the pack.[1]
Unverified Which quest chapter or group the pack's quest book places Construction Sticks in, what comes before and after it, and whether the ATM Star path uses it are not shown in the sources here. Check the pack's quest book for those details.
How do you get started with Construction Sticks?
4 parts
Construction Sticks are all about making building easier: you point a stick at a block and it extends your build on the side facing you. Here's the order I'd go in on a fresh world.[2]
Make your first stick
The simplest one to start with is the Stickiest Stick, which is crafted with just a wooden rod.[2][3]

When you find more materials, you can step up to the Iron Stick, the Diamond Stick and finally the Netherite Stick.[3]

Learn the basics
Before you chase upgrades, get comfortable with a few features that every stick has.[2]
- Press the bound key to change the placement restriction: Horizontal, Vertical, North/South, East/West or No lock. You can also open the option screen with its own bound key.[2]
- Undo is built in. Hold the undo key while looking at blocks to see your last placements with a green border. Press it while looking at any of them to undo the operation and get the items back.[2]
- Shulker boxes, bundles and many containers from other mods can supply building blocks to the stick.[2]
- Blocks in your offhand are placed instead of the block you're looking at.[2]
Add upgrades with templates
Upgrades come from templates, which you craft first. This pack has a crafting recipe for each template listed below. Here is the Angel one as an example.[2][3]

Recipe id: constructionstick:template_angel
- Angel Stick Template: places a block on the opposite side of what you're facing, or in mid-air using the block in your offhand. The maximum distance depends on the stick tier.[2]
- Battery Template: lets the stick use energy instead of durability. You can only charge it if you have a mod that provides a way to do so.[2]
- Replacement Stick Template: swaps blocks for the type in your offhand, handy for replacing walls after placement.[2]
- Destruction Stick Template: destroys blocks (no block entities) on the side facing you. Undo restores them if you slip.[2]
- Unbreakable Template: lets you place blocks without using durability, so the stick never breaks.[2]
Apply the template
Put the template, your stick and the required item together in a Smithing Table. The required item depends on the upgrade, so check the Smithing Table recipe for the one you want. Here is the Angel upgrade on a Copper Stick.[2][3]

How does Construction Sticks work?
5 parts
Construction Sticks don't have machines, multiblocks or pipes. They are handheld building tools, so the core mechanics are about how a stick places blocks, where it gets them from, and how upgrades change its behavior. The basic stick places blocks on the side of a building that faces you, up to a set number of blocks per use.[2]
Placement options
You change how a stick builds with a few settings. One bound key cycles the placement restriction, and another bound key opens the option screen. The restriction modes are:[2]
- Horizontal: builds a horizontal column in front of the original block.[2]
- Vertical: builds a vertical column in front of the original block.[2]
- North/South: builds a row in the N/S direction on top of the original block.[2]
- East/West: builds a row in the E/W direction on top of the original block.[2]
- No lock: extends from any side of the original block.[2]
The option screen has more toggles. Direction can place blocks facing the player, or in the same direction as the target block. Match can be exact, so only identical blocks are extended, or similar, which treats things like dirt and grass types as equal. Random places random blocks present in your hotbar. Replace lets the stick replace certain blocks like fluids, snow and tall grass.[2]
Where the blocks come from
Shulker boxes, bundles and many containers from other mods can supply building blocks to the stick, so you don't have to keep everything in your hotbar. If you hold blocks in your offhand, the stick places those instead of the block you're looking at.[2]
Undo
Hold the bound undo-preview key while looking at a block and the last blocks you placed show up with a green border. Press the bound undo key while looking at any of them to undo the operation and get your items back. If you used the Destruction upgrade, undo restores the destroyed blocks.[2]
Upgrades
Upgrades come from templates that you craft, then apply to a stick in a Smithing Table together with the required item. The smithing recipes show which item each upgrade needs. To switch between upgrades, press a bound key while holding the stick, or use the option screen. Without an upgrade the stick uses its default mode, which extends your building on the side facing you.[2]
- Angel Stick Template: places a block on the opposite side of the block or row you're facing. The maximum distance depends on the stick tier. Right click empty space to place in midair, with the block you want to place in your offhand.[2][3]
- Battery Template: the stick uses energy instead of durability and can store energy. You can only charge it if another mod provides a way to do so.[2][3]
- Destruction Stick Template: destroys blocks on the side facing you, but not blocks with block entities. The maximum number of blocks depends on the stick tier.[2][3]
- Replacement Stick Template: swaps blocks for the type you hold in your offhand, which is handy for replacing walls after placement.[2][3]
- Unbreakable Template: lets you place blocks without using durability, so the stick never breaks.[2][3]
Here are a couple of the pack's smithing recipes as examples. Each one takes a stick, the matching template and one extra item.[3]

Stick tiers
The pack has the Copper Stick, Iron Stick, Diamond Stick and Netherite Stick. The stick tier decides the maximum distance for the Angel upgrade and the maximum number of blocks for the Destruction upgrade.[2][3]
Unverified The exact block counts, durability and energy capacity for each tier are not shown in the sources here, and no config files for this mod are available.
How do you progress through Construction Sticks?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
Construction Sticks bring back the building-wand style of play, and the pack gives them their own quest, a quest in "?", in the Building Tips chapter. It unlocks after the Paxel quest. The quest's task accepts any of the sticks: Stickiest Stick, Copper Stick, Iron Stick, Diamond Stick or Netherite Stick.[4]
The tiers
The quest gives you the rule of thumb: the more expensive the stick, the more durability it has and the more blocks it can place. So you climb from the Stickiest Stick through copper, iron and diamond to netherite, and each step up is more capacity.[4]
Each tier has its own crafting recipe in the pack. Here they are in order, starting with the Stickiest Stick.[5]

Setting it up
A fresh stick just places blocks to fill a space. To change that, open its GUI, but you have to set a keybind for it yourself first. From the GUI you can change where it places blocks, in what pattern, and even which blocks it places.[4]
Upgrades
On top of the tiers, the sticks have their own upgrades. You craft the upgrade, then combine it with your stick in a Smithing Table. The pack has these upgrade templates: Angel Stick Template, Battery Template, Destruction Stick Template, Replacement Stick Template and Unbreakable Template.[4][5]

Every template has its own smithing recipe for every tier, from the Stickiest Stick up to the Netherite Stick. Each of those recipes also asks for an extra material beyond the template and the stick. Here is one example, applying the Angel template to a Diamond Stick.[5]

What changed in Construction Sticks between versions?
1 part
Construction Sticks has been in All the Mods 10 since version 2.2 or earlier, so it's been part of the pack from the early days. The version you get in All the Mods 10 2.41 is 1.1.5, shipped as the 1.21.1 build of the mod.[6]
Changes across pack releases
- All the Mods 10 2.36: Construction Sticks was updated from 1.1.4 to 1.1.5.[7]
- All the Mods 10 2.41: still on Construction Sticks 1.1.5, so there's been no further mod update since 2.36.[6][7]
Unverified What actually changed between Construction Sticks 1.1.4 and 1.1.5 (new features, fixes or balance changes) isn't confirmed, because no changelog for the shipped jars is available. Check the mod's own release notes if you want the details.
