What is Botany Trees?
2 parts
Botany Trees lets you grow trees in small pots. It's an addon for Botany Pots, so the pots do the work and this mod adds the trees to grow in them.[1]
You can use it purely for decoration, or as a mini wood farm. That makes it a good fit if you want a compact tree setup without giving up a chunk of land.[1]
Which trees are supported
The mod can grow trees from Vanilla and several other mods inside the Botany Pot. This is the list of supported mods and how many trees each one adds:[1]
- Vanilla: 6 trees[1]
- Quark: 5 trees[1]
- Biomes O' Plenty: 18 trees[1]
- Forbidden Arcanus: 2 trees[1]
- Simple Farming: 9 trees[1]
- Biomes You'll Go: 39 trees[1]
- Better Default Biomes: 2 trees[1]
- Silent Gear: 1 tree[1]
Unverified That list comes from the mod's project page. Which of those other mods are actually installed in this pack, and so which of these trees you can really grow, isn't confirmed by the sources I have.
In this pack
The pack includes Botany Trees 21.1.7 for NeoForge 1.21.1. It was first included in All the Mods 10 4.6 or earlier, so it's a long-standing part of the pack.[2]
Unverified The sources don't show where Botany Trees fits in the pack's progression. I can't confirm any pack-specific recipe or config changes for it, and I can't say whether it sits on the ATM Star path.
How do you get started with Botany Trees?
2 parts
Botany Trees is an addon for Botany Pots. With it you can grow trees from vanilla and several other mods inside the Botany Pot, either as decoration or as a mini wood farm.[1]
What the mod covers
The project page lists these mods as currently supported, with the number of trees each one adds.[1]
- Vanilla: 6 trees (currently supported)[1]
- Quark: 5 trees (currently supported)[1]
- Biomes O' Plenty: 18 trees (currently supported)[1]
- Forbidden Arcanus: 2 trees (currently supported)[1]
- Simple Farming: 9 trees (currently supported)[1]
- Biomes You'll Go: 39 trees (currently supported)[1]
- Better Default Biomes: 2 trees (currently supported)[1]
- Silent Gear: 1 tree (currently supported)[1]
Your first steps
- Botany Trees is an addon for Botany Pots, and the trees are grown inside the Botany Pot, so that is where you plant them.[1]
- Try a vanilla tree first. The project page currently lists 6 vanilla trees as supported.[1]
- Decide what you want the pot for. The project page says you can grow trees as decoration or as a mini wood farm.[1]
Unverified The sources here do not show any crafting recipes or quests for this mod in this pack, so there is no recipe block in this section.
How does Botany Trees work?
1 part
Botany Trees is an addon for Botany Pots. It doesn't add machines or multiblocks of its own. Instead, it lets you grow trees inside the small Botany Pot. You can do that for decoration or as a mini wood farm.[1]
Which trees can you grow?
The addon supports trees from vanilla and from several other mods. This is the list of what it currently supports:[1]
- Vanilla: 6 trees[1]
- Quark: 5 trees[1]
- Biomes O' Plenty: 18 trees[1]
- Forbidden Arcanus: 2 trees[1]
- Simple Farming: 9 trees[1]
- Biomes You'll Go: 39 trees[1]
- Better Default Biomes: 2 trees[1]
- Silent Gear: 1 tree[1]
That list describes what the mod supports in general. A tree from another mod only matters to you if that mod is installed in the pack.[1]
Unverified The available sources don't explain how the trees work in this pack. That covers growth times, drops, which soils or fertilizers each tree needs, and whether hoppers, pipes or other automation can pull items from the pot. They also don't say which of the supported mods are installed here. No config files or recipes for this mod are available either. Check these in-game before you build a farm around them.
What changed in Botany Trees between versions?
Here's how Botany Trees has moved through the pack's releases. The pack changelogs only record version bumps, so there are no notes on what changed inside each update.[3][4][5]
- All the Mods 10 4.6: Botany Trees 21.1.1 was added to the pack.[5]
- All the Mods 10 6.0: updated from 21.1.1 to 21.1.3.[4]
- All the Mods 10 7.1: updated from 21.1.3 to 21.1.7.[3]
All the Mods 10 8.1 ships Botany Trees 21.1.7, so you're on the same version that arrived in 7.1.[2][3]
Unverified What each update actually changed (new trees, fixes or balance tweaks) is not shown here, because the sources do not include changelogs for the shipped jars.
