What is TrashSlot?
Same as in the All the Mods 10 6.6 guide
TrashSlot is part of this pack's mod list, version 21.1.8, built for NeoForge on Minecraft 1.21.1. It has been included since pack version 2.25 or earlier.[1]
Unverified The available sources don't describe what TrashSlot does, who it is for, or how it works in this pack. The name suggests a slot in your inventory for throwing away items, but that is unconfirmed. They also don't show whether it has any recipes, config changes or a place in the pack's progression.
How do you get started with TrashSlot?
1 part
Same as in the All the Mods 10 6.6 guide
Good news: there's nothing to craft here! TrashSlot doesn't add any items you need to make, so getting started is all about learning how the trash slot behaves on your inventory screens. The first time the trash slot can be turned on for a supported screen, or the first time you toggle it off, the mod pops up a hint telling you which key to press.[2]
Your first steps
- Open a supported screen. If the trash slot isn't showing yet, watch for the hint "Press the key to enable the trash slot for this screen!" and press the key it names.[2]
- Drop items you don't want into the trash slot to get rid of them. If you hide the slot again, a hint reminds you which key brings it back.[2]
- Lock the slot when you want to avoid accidents. The mod shows "Trash slot locked" or "Trash slot unlocked" along with the key that switches it back.[2]
- There are also keybinds that delete items directly. By default they only work while the trash slot is visible.[2]
The mod also has an instant deletion option. When it's on, the trash slot deletes items right away, the same way Creative mode does.[2]
Unverified We couldn't confirm the default keys for enabling, locking or deleting, or whether this pack changes any TrashSlot settings (instant deletion, the deny list, hints, or deleting while the slot is hidden). Check your Controls menu for the TrashSlot keybinds.
How does TrashSlot work?
4 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 6.6 guide
TrashSlot doesn't have machines, multiblocks, power or fluid handling. It's all about one thing: a trash slot that shows up on supported inventory screens so you can get rid of items you don't want. Here's how the pieces fit together.[2]
Turning the trash slot on and off
The trash slot works per screen. If you open a supported screen where it's available but not showing, the mod can give you a hint telling you which key to press to enable the trash slot for that screen.[2]
You can also toggle it off again. When you do, a hint reminds you that you've hidden it and which key brings it back, so you won't lose track of it.[2]
These hints appear the first time the slot is toggled off or can be enabled on a supported screen. A config option lets you switch the hints off completely.[2]
Locking the slot
The trash slot can be locked and unlocked with a key. When you lock it, a message confirms that the trash slot is locked and tells you which key unlocks it. Unlocking it gives you a matching message with the key to lock it again.[2]
Unverified The sources don't explain what a locked trash slot does or blocks. They also don't name the default keys for toggling, locking or deleting. Check your controls menu for the exact bindings.
Deleting items
There are two ways to delete things: put items into the trash slot, or use the delete keybinds. A config option controls whether the trash slot deletes items instantly, in the same way Creative Mode does.[2]
By default, the delete keybinds only work while the trash slot is visible. Another config option lets them work even when the slot is hidden. The mod itself says this isn't recommended, and it's easy to see why: you could wipe items without meaning to.[2]
Items that can't be trashed
The mod keeps a deny list of items that can't be deleted, written as comma-separated entries in the modid:name format. If you try to trash one of these items, you'll see a message telling you it can't be trashed.[2]
Unverified This pack doesn't include config files for TrashSlot. That means the values it uses for instant deletion, the deny list, hints and the Creative and hidden-slot keybind options can't be confirmed here.
