What is Rechiseled?
2 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 guide
Rechiseled lets you swap blocks for decorative variants that have connected textures. It adds over 600 decorative variants of vanilla blocks, and most of them also come as stairs and slabs. The pack includes version 1.2.5 of the mod.[1][2]
How the chisel works
Everything runs through the Chisel. Right-click with it to open the chiseling screen. Put a block in and you can preview all its variants, then swap between them and their stairs and slabs. Most blocks come in a connecting and a non-connecting version, and a button in the bottom right of the screen toggles between them. If your blocks aren't connecting, check that button first.[1][3]
You can also work on blocks that are already placed. Left-click a block with the chisel and it changes to a random variant. If you have a block stored in the chisel, it acts as a filter, and any block you left-click becomes that variant. The chisel has no durability, so you can use it as many times as you want.[1]
The pack's quest book adds a few screen details. You pick the design on the left and place blocks at the bottom right. The preview can show 1 block, a 3x1 row or a 3x3 wall, and you can set it to spin or stay still. Clicking the chisel next to the block slot applies the selected design to every changeable block in your inventory.[3]
Where it sits in the quest book
Rechiseled has its own quest, "Rechiseled" quest, in the "Building Tips" chapter, and it asks you to obtain the chisel. It comes right after "Changing Blocks" quest, which introduces mods that turn blocks you already have into different shapes, designs or entirely new blocks.[3]
Going back up the chain, "Changing Blocks" follows "Tools!" quest, which in turn follows "Building Tips!" quest. Two other quests also unlock after "Changing Blocks": "Chisel Reborn" quest and "Chipped" quest. They cover other block-changing mods, so you can compare the three. For anything that comes after Rechiseled, check the chapter in the quest book.[3]
How do you get started with Rechiseled?
4 parts
Everything in Rechiseled runs through one tool, so your first job is simple: make the Chisel. It lets you swap blocks into decorative variants with connected textures, and the mod page says it adds over 600 variants of vanilla blocks.[1]
Step 1: craft the chisel
In this pack the chisel has a custom recipe added by the pack, so don't rely on what you remember from the mod's default. Here is the exact version:[4]
Shaped (kubejs)
| Empty slot | Empty slot | any steel ingot |
| Empty slot | any wooden rod | Empty slot |
Recipe id: kubejs:kjs/rechiseled_chisel
Pack recipe, added by the pack.
The quest book follows the same order. The "Rechiseled" quest quest in the Building Tips chapter asks you for the chisel. It comes after "Changing Blocks" quest, which in turn comes after "Tools!" quest.[5]
Step 2: learn the chisel screen
- Right-click with the chisel to open its screen. You pick the design on the left, and the slot for your blocks is at the bottom right.[5]
- Above the block slot you can preview the design as a single block, a 3x1 row or a 3x3 wall. A button lets you set the preview to spin or not.[5]
- Click the chisel icon next to the block slot to apply the selected design to every block in your inventory that can be changed.[5]
- Stairs and slabs of a variant are also available through the same screen.[1]
- If blocks aren't connecting, use the toggle button at the bottom right of the screen. Most blocks have a version with connecting textures and one without.[1]
Step 3: chisel blocks in the world
You don't have to pick up a build to redo it. Left-click a placed block with the chisel to change it to a random variant. If you have stored a block in the chisel, it acts as a filter, and left-clicked blocks change to that variant instead.[1]
Bonus: polished basalt with Create
The pack also adds sandpaper polishing recipes for bordered basalt. They turn Basalt Bordered Connecting into Basalt Bordered Polished Connecting. The slab and stairs versions, both plain and connecting, get the same treatment, for example Bordered Basalt Slab into Bordered Polished Basalt Slab. Here is the stairs one:[4]
Sandpaper Polishing (create)
Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:sandpaper_polishing/rechiseled/basalt_bordered_stairs
Added by the pack.
How does Rechiseled work?
6 parts
Rechiseled is a decoration mod, so there is no power, fluid or machine side to learn here. Everything runs through one tool, the Chisel, which swaps blocks between their decorative variants. The mod's page says it adds over 600 variants of vanilla blocks, and they use connected textures.[1]
Getting the chisel
In this pack the chisel is crafted with a recipe added by the pack's scripts, so don't rely on the recipe you remember from the standalone mod. The site shows the exact in-pack recipe below.[4]
Shaped (kubejs)
| Empty slot | Empty slot | any steel ingot |
| Empty slot | any wooden rod | Empty slot |
Recipe id: kubejs:kjs/rechiseled_chisel
The mod's page says the chisel has no durability, so you can use it as many times as you like. Nothing in the pack's sources changes that.[1]
The chiseling screen
Right-click with the chisel to open the chiseling screen. You put a block in, and it previews all of that block's variants. From there you can swap the block for any variant, or for the stairs and slabs of that variant.[1]
Most blocks come in two versions, one with connecting textures and one without. A button in the bottom right of the screen toggles between them. If your blocks aren't connecting, check that button first.[1]
Chiseling blocks in the world
You don't have to take blocks out of the world to change them. Left-click a placed block with the chisel and it changes to a random variant.[1]
If the chisel has a block stored in it, that block acts as a filter. Any block you left-click is turned into that specific variant instead of a random one.[1]
Stairs, slabs and connecting textures
Most variants also have stairs and slabs, and you get them through the chiseling screen. The connecting textures link across the full block, the stairs and the slab of the same variant, so mixed builds still look seamless.[1]
Connecting versions are separate items from the plain ones. For example, there are both Bordered Basalt Slab and Bordered Basalt Slab, and both Bordered Basalt Stairs and Bordered Basalt Stairs.[4][6]
Polishing bordered basalt
The pack adds sandpaper polishing recipes for bordered basalt. They turn the block, its slab and its stairs into the polished versions, and each has a plain and a connecting form. Polishing the connecting block, for example, gives Basalt Bordered Polished Connecting.[4]
Sandpaper Polishing (create)
Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:sandpaper_polishing/rechiseled/basalt_bordered_connecting
The slab and stairs follow the same pattern. Bordered Basalt Slab polishes into Bordered Polished Basalt Slab, and Bordered Basalt Stairs polishes into Bordered Polished Basalt Stairs. The connecting versions polish into their connecting counterparts.[4]
Automation
Unverified The mod's page lists official addons that automate chiseling, but the pack's sources don't confirm whether any of them are installed here. Don't plan a chiseling automation setup around them until you've checked in-game.
How do you progress through Rechiseled?
4 parts
Rechiseled is a simple one in this pack: the quest book gives it a single quest, and the whole mod runs through one tool, the Chisel. Get the chisel and you're in.[5]
Where it sits in the quest book
The quest "Rechiseled" quest is in the Building Tips chapter, and it asks you to hand in the chisel. It comes after "Changing Blocks" quest, which in turn comes after "Tools!" quest. That branch, with the other block-changing mods, is where the book sends you for Rechiseled.[5]
Several other quests unlock from Changing Blocks too: "Chisel Reborn" quest, "Chipped" quest, "Framed Blocks" quest and "Camol" quest. The Rechiseled quest has no follow-up quests of its own.[5]
Getting the chisel
The pack adds its own shaped recipe for the chisel, so check the recipe below rather than relying on what you remember from the standalone mod.[4]
Shaped (kubejs)
| Empty slot | Empty slot | any steel ingot |
| Empty slot | any wooden rod | Empty slot |
Recipe id: kubejs:kjs/rechiseled_chisel
Pack-added recipe for the chisel.
Using the chisel
Right click with the chisel to open its GUI. You pick the design on the left and put your blocks in the bottom right. Above the block slot you can preview the design as a single block, a 3x1 row or a 3x3 wall, and a button lets you switch the preview between spinning and not spinning.[5]
Next to the block slot you can click the chisel itself. That applies the selected design to every block in your inventory that can be changed. The quest also says this chisel has no durability.[5]
Polishing bordered basalt
The pack also adds sandpaper polishing recipes that turn bordered basalt into its polished version. They cover the full block, Bordered Basalt Slab, Bordered Basalt Stairs and the connecting variants of each. Here are the full block and slab versions.[4]
Sandpaper Polishing (create)
Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:sandpaper_polishing/rechiseled/basalt_bordered_connecting
Sandpaper Polishing (create)
Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:sandpaper_polishing/rechiseled/basalt_bordered_slab
The stairs have their own polishing recipes, which give Bordered Polished Basalt Stairs. The slab outputs include Bordered Polished Basalt Slab.[4]

Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use Rechiseled?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 guide
Rechiseled shows up in one quest chapter in the pack, the Building Tips chapter. The chapter has a single Rechiseled quest, "Rechiseled" quest, and it asks you to get the Chisel.[3]
The path to the quest
- The chapter opens with "Building Tips!" quest, a general intro to building tips.[3]
- "Tools!" quest comes after it and asks for a stick. Its text is about the tools that help you get blocks, get different versions of them and place them.[3]
- "Changing Blocks" quest comes after Tools!. It is about mods that turn blocks you already have into ones with different shapes, designs or even entirely new blocks.[3]
- "Rechiseled" quest comes after Changing Blocks, and it asks for the Chisel.[3]
What the quest tells you
The quest text describes Rechiseled as a continuation of Chiseled. Everything in the mod works through the chisel: you right click with it to open its GUI.[3]
- The left side of the GUI is where you choose the design, and the bottom right is where you put the blocks.[3]
- Above the block slot you can preview the design in set patterns: just 1 block, 3x1 blocks, or a 3x3 wall of that block.[3]
- A button lets you set the preview image to spin or not spin.[3]
- Clicking the chisel next to where the blocks go sets the selected design on every block in your inventory that can be changed.[3]
- The chisel does not have durability.[3]
Other quests at the same step
Rechiseled is not the only quest that follows Changing Blocks. "Chisel Reborn" quest, "Chipped" quest, "Framed Blocks" quest and "Camol" quest also come after it, so you can do them in any order alongside Rechiseled.[3]
What changed in Rechiseled between versions?
3 parts
All the Mods 10: To the Sky 1.9.1 ships Rechiseled 1.2.1, and the mod has been in the pack since version 1.0 or earlier. Here are the notable changes from the mod's own changelog, newest first.[7]
1.2.1
- Fixed in-world chiseling not working when on a server.[8]
1.2.0
This was the big feature update. The highlights:[8]
- Stairs and slabs were added for all of Rechiseled's decorative blocks, and also for the vanilla chiseling recipe entries. Chiseling recipes can now include stairs and slabs too.[8]
- The chiseling screen was overhauled with a scrollbar, a search field, filters, and stairs and slabs. It now shows more entries at once and has an indicator for chiselable blocks in your inventory.[8]
- You can now chisel blocks by left-clicking them with a chisel.[8]
- Rechiseled's textures now take up 76% less atlas space.[8]
- Flowers and other vegetation can now be placed on dirt blocks from Rechiseled.[8]
- JEI and REI integration was improved. Other mods can now register plugins to add or modify chiseling recipes.[8]
- Tags were added for the blocks, stairs, and slabs of each block type in Rechiseled.[8]
- Chiseling screen preview fixes: better lighting, no more internal faces on transparent blocks, and connecting blocks like glass panes now connect properly.[8]
- Fixed a couple of incorrectly aligned textures and crashes with the mod Quad.[8]
1.1.6a and 1.1.6
- 1.1.6a fixed missing mining tags for chiseled blocks.[9]
- 1.1.6 was the initial release of Rechiseled for Minecraft 1.20.5 and 1.20.6.[9]
There are no pack changelog entries for this mod, so everything above comes from Rechiseled's own changelogs.[7]
