Macaw's Doors is a mod in All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.1.0, where it is version 1.1.5. Adds vanilla doors with every wood color and new unique doors! Such as western, garage, shoji and more...! (Summary from the mod's Modrinth page.)

What is Macaw's Doors?

1 part

Macaw's Doors gives you vanilla-style doors in every wood color, plus a pile of new unique designs. The project page lists western, garage and shoji doors, and also names metal, jail and modern doors, with more beyond that.[1]

This pack includes version 1.1.5 of the mod, and it has been in the pack since 1.0 or earlier.[2]

Where the quest book puts it

The mod has its own quest, "Macaw's Doors" quest, in the "Building Tips" chapter, which has 67 quests in total. The quest text says the mod adds all sorts of doors and door variants, with the example of a Birch design in Spruce wood. It also mentions hospital doors.[1][3]

Here is the path that leads to it. The chapter starts with "Building Tips!" quest, which leads to "Decoration!" quest. After that comes "Decor Mods!" quest, then "Macaw's Mods" quest, and the Doors quest comes right after that one.[3]

"Macaw's Trapdoors" quest also comes straight after "Macaw's Mods" quest, so the two sit side by side. Among the quests I can see, nothing is set to come after the Doors quest. 31 of the chapter's quests aren't shown to me, so check the quest book for the rest.[3]

The mod is not on the ATM Star quest path, so you can treat its quest as part of the optional building and decoration content in this chapter.[3]

How do you get started with Macaw's Doors?

5 parts

Macaw's Doors adds vanilla-style doors in every wood color, plus unique designs like Shoji, metal and modern doors. In this pack's quest book it's the quest "Macaw's Doors" quest in the Building Tips chapter. It comes after Macaw's Mods, which follows Decor Mods!, and sits next to Macaw's Roofs and Macaw's Trapdoors. The quest says you can have a design in a different wood, and that there are even Hospital Doors.[1][3]

Here are the doors I'd make first, in order. I use Acacia for the examples because those are the recipes I can show you from the pack.[4]

Start with a plain wooden door

The Acacia Barn Door is a simple door to start with, and one craft makes 2 of them. It's a quick way to get a feel for the mod and close up your first build.[4]

Next, the Acacia Glass Door. One craft gives you 3, so a single batch covers a whole row of entrances.[4]

Try a printed design

Many designs, like the Acacia Classic Door, need a door print as well as planks, and each craft makes one door. The print for this one is the Classic Door Print. The Acacia Mesh, Beach, Cottage, Four Panel, Mystic, Nether, Paper, Swamp, Waffle and Whispering doors all follow the same pattern with their own prints.[4]

Move up to metal

The Metal Door is the start of the metal line, and one craft makes 2. Once you have one, you can upgrade it into the Metal Reinforced Door.[4]

Watch out: The pack changed several recipes: Metal Door, Metal Reinforced Door, Metal Hospital Door, Metal Warning Door, Store Door, Sliding Glass Door, White Garage Door, Iron Portcullis and Wooden Portcullis. Don't trust recipes you remember from the mod's defaults for these. Check the recipe blocks on this page or your recipe viewer.[4]

Stable doors and horse doors

Last, the Acacia Stable Door, which makes 3 per craft. Use one to craft the Acacia Stable Horse Door, the Stable Horse Door. The other woods' horse door recipes shown in the pack work the same way, starting from their matching stable door.[4]

How does Macaw's Doors work?

3 parts

Macaw's Doors is a door mod, and that shapes this section. It adds vanilla-style doors in every wood color plus new designs such as western, garage and shoji doors. The sources here don't describe any machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or item automation for it, so the mechanics worth knowing are all about crafting.[1]

Print items and wood variants

Many of the wood-variant doors are built around a print item, such as Mesh Door Print (Mesh Door Print) or Classic Door Print (Classic Door Print), combined with planks. Other designs skip the print. The Barn, Glass and Shoji styles are crafted straight from wood and a few other materials, and each craft makes several doors.[4]

Stable doors and horse doors

The Stable Horse Door variants are made from the matching stable door. For example, Acacia Stable Horse Door is crafted from Acacia Stable Door. The recipes show the same pattern for Bamboo, Birch and Cherry. The dump also counts 11 recipes that take only this mod's items and make this mod's items.[4]

Metal doors and the pack's changes

The recipes for Metal Door, Metal Reinforced Door, Metal Warning Door, Metal Hospital Door, White Garage Door, Iron Portcullis and Sliding Glass Door are all marked as changed by the pack. Where they call for iron, they accept any item from the shared iron ingot or iron nugget tags.[4]

Here's what the pack's recipes yield. The Metal Door recipe makes 2 doors per craft, and the Iron Portcullis recipe makes 3. The Metal Reinforced Door is crafted from a Metal Door, and the Metal Warning Door from a Metal Windowed Door.[4]

How do you progress through Macaw's Doors?

6 parts

The sources don't lay out formal tiers for Macaw's Doors in this pack. What they do give you is a quest placement and a clear set of recipe groups, so I use those groups below as steps to work through the mod.[3][4]

Where the quest book puts it

The quest "Macaw's Doors" quest sits in the Building Tips chapter. It comes after "Macaw's Mods" quest, which comes after "Decor Mods!" quest. That one follows "Decoration!" quest, which follows the chapter's opening quest "Building Tips!" quest. The quest book describes the mod as adding all sorts of doors and door variants, including hospital doors.[3]

Four other Macaw quests hang off the same Macaw's Mods quest: "Macaw's Roofs" quest, "Macaw's Fences and Walls" quest, "Macaw's Trapdoors" quest and "Macaw's Paths and Pavings" quest. The doors quest is also one of the quests listed before "Completed Macaw" quest, the one that asks for one of everything from Macaw's Mods. That quest also lists Lights and Lamps, Furniture and Windows.[3]

Step 1: simple wooden doors

The simplest doors are the wood-themed ones that need no door print. Examples are the Acacia Barn Door, the Acacia Western Door and the Birch Shoji Door. The recipe below shows the barn door.[4]

Crafting Shaped

This acacia barn door recipe makes 2 doors per craft.

Glass versions such as the Acacia Glass Door follow the same pattern and also make 3 at a time. The recipe dump shows the bamboo versions, like the Bamboo Glass Door, making a single door per craft. Check the recipe for each wood type instead of assuming the yield carries over.[4]

Step 2: printed designs

Many designs, like the Acacia Classic Door and the Acacia Mystic Door, are printed designs. The mod's prints include Classic Door Print (Classic Door Print) and Mystic Door Print (Mystic Door Print). The recipe dump lists these as unchanged mod recipes, and both are shown below.[4]

The Mystic design uses its own print.

This is where the quest text about wanting the Birch design with Spruce wood becomes real. The Classic print is used in the acacia, bamboo and birch recipes alike, so you can swap the wood and keep the design.[3][4]

Step 3: stable doors and horse doors

The stable door is a wood door that needs iron bars, for example the Acacia Stable Door. The horse variant, like the Acacia Stable Horse Door, is crafted from the matching stable door.[4]

Step 4: metal and utility doors (changed by the pack)

This is the group where the pack changes the recipes. The dump marks these as changed by the pack: Metal Door, Metal Reinforced Door, Metal Warning Door, Metal Hospital Door, White Garage Door, Sliding Glass Door, Store Door, Iron Portcullis and Wooden Portcullis. Treat the recipes below as the truth, not whatever you remember from the mod's defaults.[4]

Tip: The metal and utility recipes are the ones the pack changed. If a recipe viewer or another guide disagrees with what you see here, trust the in-pack recipe.[4]

How big is the recipe list?

The recipe dump counts 125 shaped recipes that take both this mod's items and vanilla items, such as prints and base doors, and make this mod's items. It also counts 112 shaped recipes that take vanilla items and make this mod's items. Every recipe in those two families has its own distinct result, so there is a lot to craft before you finish the set.[4]

Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use Macaw's Doors?

3 parts

Macaw's Doors has its quest in one chapter of the pack's quest book: Building Tips, which has 67 quests. It sits in the decoration branch of that chapter, under the Macaw's Mods group.[3]

The path to the doors quest

  1. Start with "Building Tips!" quest, the opening quest of the chapter.[3]
  2. Next comes "Decoration!" quest, which comes after the opening quest and points out that modded Minecraft has far more decoration than stairs.[3]
  3. Then "Decor Mods!" quest, which comes after Decoration! and covers mods the author recommends for decorating your house or base.[3]
  4. After that is "Macaw's Mods" quest, which introduces the Macaw mods as a group of decor mods.[3]
  5. Finally "Macaw's Doors" quest, which comes after Macaw's Mods.[3]

The Macaw's Doors quest is an item task. Its text says the mod adds all sorts of doors and door variants, for example a Birch design made with Spruce wood, and even Hospital Doors.[3]

The other Macaw quests next to it

Macaw's Doors is not alone. Several other quests also come after Macaw's Mods, so you can do them in any order once you reach that group:[3]

Two more Macaw quests live in other branches of the chapter. "Macaw's Lights and Lamps" quest comes after the light-source quest a quest in "Building Tips", and "Macaw's Windows" quest comes after the glass quest a quest in "Building Tips". "Macaw's Furniture" quest sits directly under Decor Mods! alongside Macaw's Mods.[3]

Finishing the set

"Completed Macaw" quest is the capstone. It has a checkmark task and needs eight quests done first: Macaw's Doors, Fences and Walls, Roofs, Paths and Pavings, Trapdoors, Lights and Lamps, Furniture and Windows. Its text says you got one of everything from the Macaw mods.[3]

What changed in Macaw's Doors between versions?

1 part

All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 ships Macaw's Doors 1.1.5, the NeoForge build for Minecraft 1.21.1. The mod has been in the pack since 1.0 or earlier.[2]

Macaw's Doors 1.1.2

The mod's own changelog for 1.1.2 is the one I can show you. Here are the notable changes it lists:[5]

  • Added: Whispering variants.[5]
  • Changed: new textures for Door Prints.[5]
  • Changed: custom tags for all types of doors, such as barn_doors, mystic_doors and garage_doors. These are handy if you write recipes, scripts or datapacks.[5]
  • Fixed: portcullises not influencing NPC pathfinding.[5]
  • Fixed: Swamp Door items being 1px taller than other Door items.[5]
  • Translations: Turkish (tr_tr) was added. Chinese (zh_cn), Russian (ru_ru), Korean (ko_kr), Chilean Spanish (es_cl) and English (en_us) were updated.[5]

Unverified Changelogs for Macaw's Doors versions after 1.1.2, up to the 1.1.5 in this pack, were not available, and neither were any pack changelog entries for this mod. Any later changes, and anything the pack itself changed in the mod, are unverified.
