What is IntegratedTerminals?

1 part

Integrated Terminals adds storage and crafting terminals that plug into an Integrated Dynamics cable network. This pack includes version 1.6.15. The quest book calls it the best storage solution before you set up AE2, and it gives you an early-game way to reach all your surrounding chests, plus some autocrafting options.[1][2]

It's for you if you're past the first few chests and tired of running between them, but you aren't ready for AE2 yet. You start with the Integrated Terminals quest, whose task is Menril Glass. You make it by putting Glass in a Drying Basin filled with Menril Resin.[2]

How the progression flows

  1. Make Menril Glass to unlock the Integrated Terminals quest in the Basic Storage chapter.[2]
  2. In Connecting Your Storage, place Item Interfaces on the chests you want to connect and join them with Logic Cables. Then attach Part Terminal Storage and you can reach your whole storage system from one screen.[2]
  3. In Portable Storage Access, you can go wireless. Attach an Omni-Directional Splitter from Integrated Dynamics to any Logic Cable in your storage network, then right click with the Portable Storage Terminal.[2]

The mod also has Part Terminal Crafting Job, which has its own quest in the Integrated Dynamics chapter. It shows which crafting recipes are happening at any time.[3]

Tip: The quests put this mod in the Basic Storage chapter as a stepping stone. Build it first for early-game convenience, then move to AE2 when you're ready.[2]

Unverified The sources don't place Integrated Terminals on the ATM Star quest path, so don't count on it as an ATM Star requirement.

How do you get started with IntegratedTerminals?

4 parts

Integrated Terminals is the early-game storage answer in this pack. The quest book calls it the best storage solution before you set up AE2, and it lets you reach all the surrounding chests from one screen. Here is the order to do things in, and it follows the quest chain.[2]

Step one: make Menril Glass

Start with the quest "Integrated Terminals" quest. Its task is Menril Glass, a self-illuminating glass. You make it by putting Glass in a Drying Basin filled with Menril Resin. You need it first because the Storage Terminal is crafted with it.[2][4][5]

Step two: connect your chests and build the Storage Terminal

Next comes "Connecting Your Storage" quest. You make some Part Interface Item and some Logic Cable. Put an Item Interface on every chest you want to connect, then link them all with the cables. Finish by placing the Storage Terminal on the network, and you have access to your whole storage system.[2]

The Storage Terminal is a part, so it sits on a cable. This is the in-pack recipe for it:[4][5]

Step three: take it with you

"Portable Storage Access" quest gives you wireless access. Attach an Omni-Directional Splitter (Part Connector Omni Directional) from Integrated Dynamics to any Logic Cable connecting your storage. Then right click with the Portable Storage Terminal and you can reach your system wirelessly.[2]

The portable version is built from the Storage Terminal part, so make the normal terminal first. Here is the in-pack recipe:[4][5]

Optional: the Crafting Job Terminal

Later on you can add Part Terminal Crafting Job. The quest a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" describes it as showing which crafting recipes are happening at any time. The mod's own info book adds that it lets you see and cancel all running crafting jobs in the network.[3][5]

Tip: The mod's info book notes that the Crafting Job Terminal and the autocrafting features only apply if you have an autocrafting mod such as Integrated Crafting installed. If you just want chest access, the first three steps are all you need.[5]

How does IntegratedTerminals work?

4 parts

IntegratedTerminals adds terminals for managing and overviewing Integrated Dynamics networks. It extends Integrated Dynamics rather than standing on its own, so everything here plugs into a network you have already built.[5]

Storage Terminal

The Storage Terminal lets you interact with your storage networks, for example attached Energy Batteries. If other mods add storage capabilities, such as the item and fluid capabilities from Integrated Tunnels, you can interact with those through it too. Tooltips show energy in FE and fluids in mB.[5]

You craft the Part Terminal Storage as a part for your network. There is also a handheld version, the Portable Storage Terminal, which is crafted from the part.[4][5]

The advancements for this mod are a good checklist. They ask you to craft a Storage Terminal, open its GUI, and use a Variable to dynamically filter enchantable items in it.[5]

Terminal settings

The storage GUI has a lot of options. You can sort by name, ID or amount (items by stack size, fluids by mB), in ascending or descending order. You can resize the grid with Small, Medium and Large presets, or scale the width and height separately. There is also a channel setting, and a button to mark your current settings as the default for new terminals.[5]

The terminal also has a built-in crafting grid with some handy controls:[5]

  • Auto-refill refills the grid after crafting. Its modes are Disabled, Source: Player, Source: Player, Network, Source: Network, and Source: Network, Player.[5]
  • Balance equally distributes equal items over the slots.[5]
  • Clear sends the grid contents into storage. Shift-click to clear into your player inventory instead.[5]
  • The crafting filter narrows the list by stored ingredients, craftable ingredients, or both.[5]

Autocrafting and the Crafting Job Terminal

Watch out: The autocrafting features only apply if an autocrafting mod such as Integrated Crafting is installed. Whether this pack includes one is not confirmed in the sources I have.[5]

With autocrafting available, the Storage Terminal can calculate a crafting plan and start a crafting job. The plan is labelled Valid or Running, or it fails as Incomplete, Insufficient Crafting Interfaces, or Recursive recipe detected. You can view the plan as a tree or in a compact form.[5]

The Part Terminal Crafting Job lets you see and cancel all running crafting jobs in the network. Opening it shows a list of running jobs, and you can click one for a detailed overview. Each job shows its remaining sub-jobs, status, duration, owner and channel, and you can hover over a sub-job for more on its status. There are buttons to cancel a single job or all jobs.[5]

Job statuses tell you what is going on:[5]

  • Valid: not started yet.[5]
  • Queueing: waiting for other jobs to finish.[5]
  • Pending Dependencies: waiting for dependencies to finish.[5]
  • Pending Inputs: missing input ingredients.[5]
  • Crafting: job started, waiting for outputs.[5]
  • Finished: job completed and outputs received.[5]
  • Invalid: missing storage ingredients.[5]
  • Recipe Not Allowed: the recipe inputs could not be inserted into the crafting target.[5]
  • Error: unknown error.[5]

Menril Glass

Menril Glass is described as illuminating glass, and you get it by drying Menril Resin onto Glass. It is used in the terminal part recipes above.[4][5]

How do you progress through IntegratedTerminals?

4 parts

In this pack, Integrated Terminals is pitched as the early-game storage answer before you set up AE2. The quests describe it as a way to reach all your surrounding chests from one place, with some autocrafting options too. The sources don't define formal numbered tiers, so here is the path the quests lay out, in order.[2]

Stage 1: Getting started

The first quest, "Integrated Terminals" quest, asks for Menril Glass. The quest says you make it by putting Glass in a Drying Basin filled with Menril Resin.[2]

Stage 2: Connecting your storage

"Connecting Your Storage" quest unlocks after the first quest. It asks you to hand in a Logic Cable, an Item Interface and the Part Terminal Storage. You place the Interfaces on the chests you want to connect and join them with Logic Cables. Then you add the Storage Terminal, and your whole storage system is accessible from it.[2]

How does IntegratedTerminals work with other mods?

3 parts

IntegratedTerminals is tightly tied to Integrated Dynamics in this pack. Its recipes and quests also bring in Integrated Tunnels for hooking up chests. Here's how it all fits together.[2][4]

Crafting the terminal parts

Both the Part Terminal Storage and the Part Terminal Crafting Job are built from Integrated Dynamics components, together with this mod's own Menril Glass. Here are the exact in-pack recipes.[4]

What the quests teach

  1. "Integrated Terminals" quest introduces Integrated Terminals as an early-game storage option before AE2. You start by making Menril Glass in a Drying Basin filled with Menril Resin.[2]
  2. "Connecting Your Storage" quest has you place Part Interface Item on the chests you want to connect. You link them with Logic Cable and then add a Part Terminal Storage to reach all of that storage.[2]
  3. "Portable Storage Access" quest covers wireless access. You attach an Omni-Directional Splitter (Part Connector Omni Directional) to the Logic Cables that connect your storage, then right-click with the Portable Storage Terminal.[2]
  4. a quest in "Integrated Dynamics", in the Integrated Dynamics chapter, points you to the Part Terminal Crafting Job. Its description says it shows which crafting recipes are happening at any time.[3]

Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use IntegratedTerminals?

2 parts

Integrated Terminals appears in the "Basic Storage" and "Integrated Dynamics" quest chapters in this pack. Most of it is in "Basic Storage", where a chain of quests runs in a fixed order and takes you from nothing to wireless access to your storage. One more quest sits in the "Integrated Dynamics" chapter.[2][3]

Basic Storage chapter

The chapter pitches Integrated Terminals as an early-game storage solution to use before you set up AE2. It lets you reach all the chests around it and gives you some autocrafting options.[2]

  1. "Integrated Terminals" quest is the starting point. The task is to obtain Menril Glass, and the quest text explains how to make it.[2]
  2. "Connecting Your Storage" quest unlocks after the first quest. It asks for Logic Cable, Part Interface Item and Part Terminal Storage. You put the Item Interfaces on the chests you want to connect, link them with Logic Cables, and add the Storage Terminal to reach everything.[2]
  3. "Portable Storage Access" quest comes after that and covers wireless access. It asks for the Portable Storage Terminal and Part Connector Omni Directional. You attach the connector to a Logic Cable in your storage network, then right click with the Portable Storage Terminal to open the system.[2]

Integrated Dynamics chapter

a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" has no title in the quest book. Its task is to obtain the Part Terminal Crafting Job, which shows which crafting recipes are happening at any time. It unlocks after another quest in that same chapter, so you reach it as you progress through Integrated Dynamics rather than through the storage chapter.[3]

Tip: Do the Basic Storage quests in order. Each one unlocks the next, and by the end you have a wired storage network with both a Storage Terminal and a wireless Portable Storage Terminal.[2]
