What is Hostile Neural Networks?
2 parts
Hostile Neural Networks lets you simulate mobs and turn the results into their drops, so you can get mob loot without farming the mobs. It's based on Deep Mob Learning, and this pack includes version 6.3.0 of it.[1][2]
The core item is the Data Model, which holds information about one entity. You craft a Model Framework and use it on the target entity to build the model, then you train it.[1]
How the loop works
- Put your models in a Deep Learner. Kills you make begin to train them. Every model starts out Faulty and has to be trained up to Basic here.[1]
- Once a model is Basic or higher, run simulations in the Simulation Chamber. Each run needs energy (based on the model type) and a catalyst item, which is usually a Prediction Matrix.[1]
- Simulations always give a generalized prediction. Depending on the model's accuracy, they may also give a Mob Prediction. Higher tiers are more accurate, up to 99.5% at Self Aware.[1]
- Feed the predictions into a Loot Fabricator. It uses power to convert them into mob drops, and you pick a target for each model type from a predefined list of items. It remembers your choice per type, so one fabricator can handle several kinds of prediction.[1]
Where it fits in the pack
The pack has a dedicated quest chapter for this mod. It starts with the Deep Learner (a quest in "?") and the Model Framework (a quest in "?"). Both unlock the Simulation Chamber and Prediction Matrix quest (a quest in "?").[3]
After that, the chapter branches into the Loot Fabricator (a quest in "?") and the four generalized predictions: Generalized Overworld Prediction, Generalized Nether Prediction, Generalized Ender Prediction and Generalized Twilight Prediction. Once you have the fabricator, a long run of quests asks you to obtain individual Prediction items.[3]
You can also add custom Data Models with a datapack, where each model is a single file in the data_models folder. The sources don't list any pack-specific changes to this mod's recipes or configs.[1]
How do you get started with Hostile Neural Networks?
5 parts
Hostile Neural Networks lets you simulate mobs and turn the results into their drops. The whole mod runs on one chain: build a data model, train it, run simulations, then feed the predictions into a fabricator. Here is the order to build things in.[1]
First, make a Model Framework
Everything starts with the Model Framework. You use it on the mob you want to build a model of, and that gives you a Data Model. The pack's quest book covers these in a quest in "?" and a quest in "?".[1][3]

Next, make a Deep Learner
The Deep Learner is where your model gets trained. You store a few models inside it, and the kills you get will train them. A new model starts out Faulty and has to reach Basic in the deep learner before you can simulate with it. The matching quest is a quest in "?".[1][3]

Then, build the Simulation Chamber and Prediction Matrix
Once a model is Basic or higher, the Simulation Chamber can run simulations on it. Each run needs energy and a catalyst item, which is usually a Prediction Matrix. Simulations always produce a generalized prediction. They may also produce a mob prediction, depending on how accurate the model is. Accuracy goes up with model tier, reaching 99.5% at Self Aware. Both items are in a quest in "?", which comes after the Deep Learner and Model Framework quests.[1][3]

Finally, set up the Loot Fabricator
Mob predictions are turned into drops by the Loot Fabricator. It uses power to convert predictions into mob drops, and you pick a target drop for each model type. Its quest, a quest in "?", comes after the simulation quest.[1][3]

Useful extras
The quest book also has quests for the generalized predictions: Generalized Overworld Prediction, Generalized Nether Prediction, Generalized Twilight Prediction and Generalized Ender Prediction. The pack has recipes that convert an Overworld prediction into a Nether one, and a Nether one into an Ender one.[3][4]

How does Hostile Neural Networks work?
6 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 4.5 guide
Hostile Neural Networks lets you farm mob drops without farming mobs. You train data models, run simulations with them to produce mob predictions, and then turn those predictions into real loot. Every step of that chain has its own item or machine, so let's walk through it in order.[1]
Data Models: the core of the mod
Everything revolves around the Data Model, an item that holds information about one entity and lets you generate that entity's drops. To get one, you first craft a Model Framework and then use it on the mob you want to build a model of.[1]
Crafting Shaped

Recipe id: hostilenetworks:framework
The mod's tooltip text includes a line telling you to click on an entity to attune a model, plus a message saying that model attunement is disabled, so watch the tooltip when you try this.[6]
Which mobs have models is data-driven. Custom Data Models can be added through a datapack, with each model defined as a single file in a data_models subfolder.[1]
Training with the Deep Learner
A fresh model starts in the Faulty state and can't be simulated yet. To level it up, put it in a Deep Learner. The Deep Learner holds a few data models at once, and the kills you get start training them. You need to get each model up to Basic this way before the next machine will accept it.[1]

Running simulations in the Simulation Chamber
Once a model is Basic or higher, you can load it into a Simulation Chamber to run simulations. The Simulation Chamber is the second way to train a model, so your models keep improving while they work.[1]

Each simulation needs energy and a catalyst item. The energy cost depends on the model type. The catalyst is usually a Prediction Matrix, so you'll want a steady supply of those.[1]

Every simulation produces a generalized prediction. It may also produce a Mob Prediction, depending on the model's accuracy. Higher model tiers mean higher accuracy, up to 99.5% at the Self Aware tier. Leveling your models is what makes a setup truly efficient.[1]
Generalized predictions
The generalized predictions come in three kinds: Generalized Overworld Prediction, Generalized Nether Prediction and Generalized Ender Prediction. In this pack you can craft them up the chain, turning Overworld into Nether and Nether into Ender.[7]

Turning predictions into loot
Mob Predictions become real drops in the Loot Fabricator, a powered device. The possible outputs come from a pre-defined list of items for each model type, and you pick a target for each type. The fabricator remembers your choice per type, so you can feed several kinds of predictions into a single fabricator.[1]

What the tooltips tell you
The mod has several info lines that are useful for planning:[6]
- A prompt to hold a key for more info, so check the extended tooltip.[6]
- Generates Experience, followed by a value.[6]
- Loot Table Copies, followed by a value.[6]
- No Base Drop Produced.[6]
Unverified The sources don't give exact energy costs, how much power the Loot Fabricator uses, the kill or simulation counts needed for each tier, the names of the tiers between Basic and Self Aware, or which sides of the machines accept items and energy for automation. Check these in-game before you design an automated setup.
How do you progress through Hostile Neural Networks?
4 parts
The pack gives Hostile Neural Networks its own quest chapter, and it works as a roadmap. You start with the Deep Learner and a Model Framework. Then you build the Simulation Chamber and Prediction Matrix, and from there the chapter branches into the prediction types and the Loot Fabricator.[3]
Step 1: Deep Learner and Model Framework
Both of these quests unlock after the same earlier quest, so you can do them in either order. a quest in "?" asks for the Deep Learner, and a quest in "?" asks for the Model Framework. Here are the in-pack recipes.[3]

Once you have both, a quest in "?" asks you to get a Data Model. The sources don't say how that model is obtained or what its tiers are.[3]
Step 2: Simulation Chamber and Prediction Matrix
a quest in "?" unlocks after the Deep Learner and Model Framework quests. It has two tasks: the Simulation Chamber and the Prediction Matrix. Finishing it opens up the rest of the chapter.[3]

Step 3: The prediction tiers
Four quests branch off the Simulation Chamber quest, one for each generalized prediction: a quest in "?" for Generalized Overworld Prediction, a quest in "?" for Generalized Nether Prediction, a quest in "?" for Generalized Ender Prediction, and a quest in "?" for Generalized Twilight Prediction.[3]
In the pack's recipes, the Overworld prediction upgrades to Nether, and Nether upgrades to Ender. Both upgrades are crafting recipes.[4]

Unverified The recipe dump has no recipe for the Overworld or Twilight predictions, so how you get them is unconfirmed. The Twilight prediction also has no upgrade recipe in the sources.
Step 4: Loot Fabricator and the prediction quest block
a quest in "?" asks for the Loot Fabricator. It also unlocks a large block of follow-up quests, and each one asks for a Prediction item. The quest data doesn't say which specific predictions they are, so check each quest in-game.[3]

Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use Hostile Neural Networks?
3 parts
Hostile Neural Networks has its own quest chapter in the pack, called "hostile_neural_networks". Every quest in it asks you to obtain an item from the mod, and none of them has a title in the quest file, so I'll point to them by quest ref. Here's the order they unlock in.[3]
The setup quests
- Two quests open the chapter and both unlock after the same earlier quest. a quest in "?" asks for the Deep Learner, and a quest in "?" asks for the Model Framework. You can do them in either order.[3]
- a quest in "?" unlocks once both of those are done. It has two tasks: the Simulation Chamber and the Prediction Matrix.[3]
- a quest in "?" also unlocks after the Deep Learner and Model Framework quests. It asks for a Data Model, so you don't need the Simulation Chamber quest finished first to see it.[3]
After the Simulation Chamber
Finishing a quest in "?" opens up five quests at once. Four of them ask for a generalized prediction item, one per dimension: a quest in "?" wants the Generalized Overworld Prediction, a quest in "?" wants the Generalized Nether Prediction, a quest in "?" wants the Generalized Ender Prediction, and a quest in "?" wants the Generalized Twilight Prediction.[3]
The fifth, a quest in "?", asks for the Loot Fabricator.[3]
The prediction quests
The a quest in "?" Loot Fabricator quest is the gateway to the largest part of the chapter. A long run of quests unlock after it, and each one asks for a Prediction item. Some of them are a quest in "?", a quest in "?", a quest in "?" and a quest in "?". They all unlock at the same point, so you can tackle them in whatever order suits you.[3]
Unverified The quest file lists these prediction quests with the same generic prediction item, so it doesn't show which mob each one is for. Quest rewards aren't shown either.
