What is Growth Accelerator Tiers?
2 parts
Growth Accelerator Tiers adds blocks that boost the growth of crops and crystals next to them. In the quest book's words, wheat next to a powered accelerator grows much faster, and a Budding Amethyst next to one grows amethyst faster. The pack includes version 1.0.3 of the mod.[1][2]
Where the quest book puts it
All three accelerator quests sit in Chapter 2: The Cool Parts. The Cranked Growth Accelerator quest comes after the Certus Crystals and Charging quest. The Boosted and Directional quests both come after the quest for the regular Growth Accelerator, so that is the one to reach first.[2]
The tiers the quests cover
- Cranked Growth Accelerator is described as the most basic and cheap accelerator. It uses no energy: you place a Wooden Crank on it and turn it with Right Click. Quest: "Cranked Growth Accelerator" quest.[2]
- Boosted Growth Accelerator works like a regular Growth Accelerator, just even faster. Quest: "Boosted Growth Accelerator" quest.[2]
- Directional Growth Accelerator grows crystals in only one set direction, instead of every direction available from the Budding Crystal. You change the direction by right-clicking it with a Direction Modifier. The quest calls these the fastest and best for auto farms. Quest: "Directional Growth Accelerator" quest.[2]
Unverified Whether the ATM Star path uses this mod is not shown by the sources here, so check the quest book for that.
How do you get started with Growth Accelerator Tiers?
3 parts
Growth Accelerators boost the growth of crops and crystals next to them. Wheat beside a powered one grows much faster, and a Budding Amethyst beside one grows Amethyst faster. This mod adds three accelerator blocks plus a modifier item, and they all sit in Chapter 2 of the quest book.[2]
Step 1: Cranked Growth Accelerator
Start with the Cranked Growth Accelerator. The quest calls it the most basic and cheap Growth Accelerator, and it unlocks after the Certus Crystals and Charging quest. See "Cranked Growth Accelerator" quest for the quest itself.[2]

This is the in-pack recipe for the Cranked Growth Accelerator.
It doesn't use Energy and doesn't connect to a network. You place a Wooden Crank on it and turn the crank with Right Click, and then it works.[2][4]
Step 2: Boosted Growth Accelerator
Next comes the Boosted Growth Accelerator ("Boosted Growth Accelerator" quest). It works exactly like a normal Growth Accelerator, just even faster. Its recipe uses several AE2 parts, and the quest explains how to make the Fluix Pearl, the Annihilation Core and the Acceleration Card. The Acceleration Card is made with Advanced Cards, which in turn need Calculation Processors.[2][3]

Step 3: Directional Growth Accelerator and its modifier
The Directional Growth Accelerator ("Directional Growth Accelerator" quest) is the one to aim for if you're building auto farms. The quest calls these the fastest and best for that job. A normal accelerator grows crystals in every direction available from the Budding Crystal, but this one only grows them in one set direction.[2]

How does Growth Accelerator Tiers work?
4 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 guide
Growth Accelerator Tiers adds upgraded versions of the AE2 Growth Accelerator: the Boosted Growth Accelerator, the Directional Growth Accelerator and the Cranked Growth Accelerator. Each one has a speed multiplier for ticking the blocks next to it, and you can read it in the config. The pack changes some of those values, so the numbers below are the pack's, not the mod's defaults.[5][6]
Boosted Growth Accelerator
This is the straightforward upgrade: it is faster than your average Growth Accelerator. Its speed multiplier is 4 ([[config:config/growthacceleratortiers-common.toml#Boosted Growth Accelerator.boosted_speed_multiplier]]), which is the mod default. A value of 1.0 would match the normal AE2 Growth Accelerator.[5][6]
The pack raises its running power consumption to 200 ([[config:config/growthacceleratortiers-common.toml#Boosted Growth Accelerator.boosted_idle_power_consumption]]). The mod default is 42, and the config notes that 8 would imitate the normal AE2 accelerator. The internal energy multiplier stays at the default of 40 ([[config:config/growthacceleratortiers-common.toml#Boosted Growth Accelerator.boosted_internal_energy_multiplier]]).[6]

Directional Growth Accelerator
This one forces buds to grow in a specific direction, and that direction is up by default. To change it, right click the accelerator with a Directional Modifier.[5]

The pack changes both of its main values. The speed multiplier is 1.6 ([[config:config/growthacceleratortiers-common.toml#Directional Growth Accelerator.directional_speed_multiplier]]) instead of the mod default of 2. Running power consumption is 160 ([[config:config/growthacceleratortiers-common.toml#Directional Growth Accelerator.directional_idle_power_consumption]]) instead of 20. The internal energy multiplier is unchanged at 32 ([[config:config/growthacceleratortiers-common.toml#Directional Growth Accelerator.directional_internal_energy_multiplier]]).[6]

Cranked Growth Accelerator
The Cranked accelerator does not connect to a network. It only works when powered by the Wooden Crank.[5]
Its values are all the mod defaults: a speed multiplier of 8 ([[config:config/growthacceleratortiers-common.toml#Cranked Growth Accelerator.cranked_speed_multiplier]]), running power consumption of 8 ([[config:config/growthacceleratortiers-common.toml#Cranked Growth Accelerator.cranked_idle_power_consumption]]) and an internal energy multiplier of 20 ([[config:config/growthacceleratortiers-common.toml#Cranked Growth Accelerator.cranked_internal_energy_multiplier]]). The config notes that 8 power would imitate the normal AE2 accelerator.[6]
Crafting Shaped

Recipe id: growthacceleratortiers:cranked_growth_accelerator
Reading the config
- Speed multiplier: how much the accelerator ticks adjacent blocks. 1.0 imitates the normal AE2 Growth Accelerator.[6]
- Idle power consumption: the power used while running. 8 imitates the normal AE2 Growth Accelerator.[6]
- Internal energy multiplier: scales the accelerator's internal power inventory. 10 imitates the normal AE2 Growth Accelerator.[6]
How do you progress through Growth Accelerator Tiers?
4 parts
Growth Accelerators boost the growth of crops and crystals next to them. Put wheat beside a powered one and it grows much faster. Put a Budding Amethyst beside one and it grows amethyst faster. This mod adds three tiers on top of that idea, and the pack's Chapter 2 quests walk you through them.[2]
Tier 1: Cranked Growth Accelerator
The Cranked Growth Accelerator is the most basic and cheapest accelerator, and the quest "Cranked Growth Accelerator" quest unlocks right after Certus Crystals and Charging. It doesn't use energy at all. You place a Wooden Crank on it and turn it with Right Click, and it works.[2]

Tier 2: Boosted Growth Accelerator
The Boosted Growth Accelerator works exactly like a normal Growth Accelerator, just faster. The quest "Boosted Growth Accelerator" quest comes after the Growth Accelerator quest. The in-pack recipe uses the AE2 Growth Accelerator as its base, so you need that built first.[2][3]
The quest also explains how to make the AE2 parts the recipe needs, including the Acceleration Card, which is made from Advanced Cards.[2][3]

Tier 3: Directional Growth Accelerator
The Directional Growth Accelerator also follows the Growth Accelerator quest, with "Directional Growth Accelerator" quest. It grows differently from the other tiers. Instead of growing crystals in every direction available from the Budding Crystal, it only grows in one set direction. The quest calls these the fastest and best for auto farms.[2]
The quest describes the recipe as the Boosted one with the Annihilation Core swapped for a Formation Core. The in-pack recipe below is the exact version, so follow it rather than the quest summary. It also uses the AE2 Growth Accelerator as a base.[2][3]

How does Growth Accelerator Tiers work with other mods?
3 parts
Growth Accelerator Tiers is closely tied to AE2 in this pack. Every item the mod adds is crafted with AE2 parts, and the quests in Chapter 2 treat them as upgrades to the base Growth Accelerator.[2][3]
Cranked Growth Accelerator
The Cranked Growth Accelerator uses the AE2 Wooden Crank in its recipe, and the crank is also how you run it. The quest explains that it needs no energy: you place a Wooden Crank on it and turn it with Right Click. It is described as the most basic and cheapest tier. See "Cranked Growth Accelerator" quest.[2][3]

Boosted Growth Accelerator
The Boosted Growth Accelerator is built from several AE2 components, including the Annihilation Core, the Fluix Pearl and the Acceleration Card. The quest says it works exactly like a Growth Accelerator, just even faster. It also walks you through making those AE2 parts, so follow "Boosted Growth Accelerator" quest if you get stuck.[2][3]

Directional Growth Accelerator
The Directional Growth Accelerator follows the Boosted recipe, with the Formation Core taking the place of the Annihilation Core. The quest also lists a few other differences. Instead of growing crystals in every direction from a Budding Crystal, it grows them in only one set direction. The quest calls it the fastest tier and the best choice for auto farms. See "Directional Growth Accelerator" quest.[2][3]

Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use Growth Accelerator Tiers?
2 parts
All three Growth Accelerator Tiers quests sit in one chapter, Chapter 2: The Cool Parts. Each one asks you to obtain a different accelerator, so the chapter works as a tier ladder for the mod.[2]
Quest order
- "Cranked Growth Accelerator" quest unlocks after the Certus Crystals and Charging quest. You hand in a Cranked Growth Accelerator. The quest calls it the most basic and cheap Growth Accelerator.[2]
- "Boosted Growth Accelerator" quest unlocks after the Growth Accelerator quest. You hand in a Boosted Growth Accelerator.[2]
- "Directional Growth Accelerator" quest also unlocks after the Growth Accelerator quest. You hand in a Directional Growth Accelerator.[2]
The Boosted and Directional quests both branch from the same Growth Accelerator quest, so you can do them in either order once that one is done.[2]
What each quest tells you
The Cranked quest explains what Growth Accelerators do in the first place. They boost the growth of crops or crystals next to them, so wheat grows much faster, and a Budding Amethyst grows amethyst faster. The Cranked version needs no energy. Place a Wooden Crank on it and turn it with a right click.[2]
The Boosted quest describes the Boosted Growth Accelerator as working exactly like a Growth Accelerator, only even faster. Most of its text is a crafting walkthrough that touches several AE2 parts, including Acceleration Cards.[2]
The Directional quest says this accelerator uses the same recipe as the Boosted one, but with a different core. It behaves differently, too. Instead of growing crystals in every direction available from the budding crystal, it grows them in one set direction. You pick the direction by right-clicking the accelerator with an item called a Direction Modifier. The quest calls these the fastest accelerators and the best for auto farms.[2]
Which Growth Accelerator Tiers config options matter?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 guide
Everything for this mod lives in a single file, config/growthacceleratortiers-common.toml. Each accelerator tier (Boosted, Cranked and Directional) has options for how much power it uses while running, how big its internal energy buffer is, and how many times faster it ticks adjacent blocks. The pack changes only some of these, and only on the Boosted and Directional tiers.[6]
Values the pack changed
- [[config:config/growthacceleratortiers-common.toml#Boosted Growth Accelerator.boosted_idle_power_consumption]] is 200 in this pack. The mod default is 42, so the Boosted tier costs a lot more to run here.[6]
- [[config:config/growthacceleratortiers-common.toml#Directional Growth Accelerator.directional_idle_power_consumption]] is 160 in this pack. The mod default is 20.[6]
- [[config:config/growthacceleratortiers-common.toml#Directional Growth Accelerator.directional_speed_multiplier]] is 1.6 in this pack, down from the mod default of 2. The Directional tier is both slower and hungrier than it would be with default settings.[6]
Values left at the mod default
- Boosted: [[config:config/growthacceleratortiers-common.toml#Boosted Growth Accelerator.boosted_speed_multiplier]] is 4 and [[config:config/growthacceleratortiers-common.toml#Boosted Growth Accelerator.boosted_internal_energy_multiplier]] is 40.[6]
- Cranked: [[config:config/growthacceleratortiers-common.toml#Cranked Growth Accelerator.cranked_speed_multiplier]] is 8, [[config:config/growthacceleratortiers-common.toml#Cranked Growth Accelerator.cranked_idle_power_consumption]] is 8 and [[config:config/growthacceleratortiers-common.toml#Cranked Growth Accelerator.cranked_internal_energy_multiplier]] is 20. None of the Cranked values are changed.[6]
- Directional: [[config:config/growthacceleratortiers-common.toml#Directional Growth Accelerator.directional_internal_energy_multiplier]] is 32, the mod default.[6]
Reading the numbers
The config comments give you reference points against the normal AE2 Growth Accelerator. A speed multiplier of 1.0 imitates it, an idle power consumption of 8 imitates it, and an internal energy multiplier of 10 imitates it. So the Cranked tier's power use of 8 matches the AE2 reference, while its speed multiplier of 8 is well above it.[6]
