What is Gravitational Modulating Additional Unit?

Same as in the All the Mods 10 4.2 guide

Gravitational Modulating Additional Unit is included in this pack as version 6.3, built for Minecraft 1.21.1. It isn't a recent addition either: it has been part of the pack since release 2.25 or earlier, so you'll find it in any current install.[1]

Unverified What this mod adds, who it's aimed at, and where it fits in the pack's progression couldn't be confirmed from the available material. No in-game guidebook or mod description was available for it.

How do you get started with Gravitational Modulating Additional Unit?

2 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 4.2 guide

This mod is a small add-on built around one item: the Module Gravitational Modulating Additional Unit. Its description says it requires the 'Gravitational Modulating Unit' and provides additional features, so it is an upgrade to that unit, not a standalone piece of gear.[2]

Step 1: Get the Gravitational Modulating Unit first

Since the additional unit needs the 'Gravitational Modulating Unit' to work, make sure you have that unit before you craft this one. Otherwise the additional unit has nothing to add to.[2]

Step 2: Craft the additional unit

The additional unit is made with a shaped crafting recipe, and this pack uses the mod's own recipe instead of a custom one. It calls for a Module Base from Module Gravitational Modulating Additional Unit's parent tech tree along with ultimate-tier, polonium and reinforced-alloy materials, so expect to be well into your Mekanism progression before you can make it.[3]

Unverified The sources don't say which additional features the unit unlocks, which armor piece it goes into, or how many can be installed. Test it in-game or check the mod's own tooltips once you have it.

How does Gravitational Modulating Additional Unit work?

3 parts

Same as in the All the Mons 1.3.0 guide

This mod is small, and the sources only explain a little of how it works. Here is what can be confirmed.[4]

What the unit does

The mod's own description for the unit says it requires the 'Gravitational Modulating Unit' and provides additional features. So Module Gravitational Modulating Additional Unit is an add-on that depends on that base unit, not something that works on its own.[4]

Crafting it

In this pack the unit is a shaped crafting recipe that comes from the mod itself. The pack has not replaced it with its own version. Here is the exact recipe:[5]

Controls

The mod adds a keybind called "Vertical Speed Modifier Switch". You can find it in your controls menu.[4]

Unverified The sources don't say what the Vertical Speed Modifier Switch changes in practice, what the base Gravitational Modulating Unit does, or whether the mod has any power, fluid or item handling. There are no config files for this mod in the pack.

How do you progress through Gravitational Modulating Additional Unit?

1 part

Same as in the All the Mods 10 4.2 guide

Progression for this mod is short in this pack. Only one recipe makes anything from it: the Module Gravitational Modulating Additional Unit. There's no chain of lower tiers to work through first. Once you can gather the ingredients, you can make the final item straight away.[3]

Crafting the unit

The unit uses a normal shaped crafting recipe, so you can assemble it in a regular crafting grid without any special machine. Several of the ingredient slots accept any item from a tag rather than one specific item, so compatible variants from other mods should also work.[3]

Unverified The pack's sources don't cover what the unit does once you have it, such as how you install it, what it changes or any energy costs. They also don't confirm whether upgrade tiers exist beyond this single item, so check in game before planning around it.

How does Gravitational Modulating Additional Unit work with other mods?

Same as in the All the Mods 10 4.2 guide

The main integration for this mod in the pack is with Mekanism. The Module Gravitational Modulating Additional Unit is crafted on top of Mekanism's Module Base, so you'll need some Mekanism progress before you can make one.[3]

The recipe is a standard shaped crafting table recipe. Besides the Module Base, it takes ingredients by tag, so any item in the right tag works. That includes the reinforced alloy tag from Mekanism. Check the recipe below for the exact layout used in this pack.[3]

Unverified What the module does once installed, for example whether it goes into Mekanism's MekaSuit and grants flight, isn't confirmed by the pack data used here. Test it in-game before you plan around it.

Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use Gravitational Modulating Additional Unit?

2 parts

The Gravitational Modulating Additional Unit has one quest in this pack, and it sits in the "Mekanism: Reactors" chapter, which is listed with 94 quests. Going by the quest texts, the chapter covers Fission and Fusion Reactors, turbines, the QIO system and the MekaSuit. The quest is labelled with the Bodyarmor group, alongside the other MekaSuit Bodyarmor module quests.[6]

The quest itself

The quest is "Gravitational Modulating Additional Unit" quest, and the quest book lists it after "Modification Station" quest. Its text describes the unit as an upgrade to the Gravitational Modulating Unit and says both need to be installed to use them.[6]

The upgrade does three things: you stop instantly when you let go of your movement keys in flight, you ascend faster, and you can fly always.[6]

In the quest book, the quest's task entry is the placeholder item ftbquests:missing_item rather than a module item.[6]

Quests to read around it

  1. "Modification Station" quest: the quest text describes the Modification Station as where you put Module Units into your tools and armor, and says it needs Energy to operate. Both gravity quests are listed after it.[6]
  2. "MekaSuit Bodyarmor" quest: the MekaSuit Bodyarmor, which its quest text says has the most Module Units of all the armor. It is listed after the Antimatter Pellet quest.[6]
  3. "Gravitational Modulating Unit" quest: the base unit, also in the Bodyarmor group and also listed after the Modification Station. The quest describes it as Creative Flight that uses Energy, and says you can raise your flight speed in its configs.[6]
Watch out: The base Gravitational Modulating Unit can't be used with the Jetpack Unit. The Jetpack Unit quest says the same thing: you can't use the Jetpack Unit while the Gravitational Modulating Unit is on. See "Jetpack Unit" quest if you want to compare the two.[6]
