Dyson Cube Project is a mod in All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.1.0, where it is version 1.0.5. Build a Dyson Sphere around the sun and harvest its power (Summary from the mod's Modrinth page.)

What is Dyson Cube Project?

3 parts

Dyson Cube Project is the pack's "power of the Sun in the palm of your hand" mod. This pack ships version 1.0.5. You launch Solar Sails and Beams into orbit around the Sun, then collect the energy they produce back on the ground.[1][2]

Where it fits in progression

The "Dyson Cube" quest quest sits in the Basic Power chapter, right after End Game Power Options. The quest calls the Dyson Cube the ultimate power source, producing up to an insane 1GFE/t. So this is a late-game power project for players who already have solid power and resource generation.[2]

The two machines

  • EM Rail Ejector Controller: you set this up to launch Solar Sails and Beams into orbit. You can feed items in automatically through the center of the bottom face. It cannot fire at midday, at night, or during rain.[2]
  • Ray Receiver Controller: this collects the energy. It outputs power from the center of its bottom face, but it cannot receive power during night or rain.[2]

Scaling up

For maximum output, the quest says you need 8,333,333 beams and 49,999,998 sails in orbit. That is a lot, and the quest says you will definitely need automation to get there. Make sure you have robust resource generation in place before you scale up.[2]

Tip: You can package beams and sails into bundles for faster launches. That is much easier than sending them one by one.[2]

How do you get started with Dyson Cube Project?

4 parts

The Dyson Cube Project is this pack's ultimate power source. The quest "Dyson Cube" quest promises up to 1GFE/t, and it comes after the End Game Power Options quest in the Basic Power chapter. You launch Solar Sails and Beams into orbit with an EM Rail Ejector Controller, then collect the energy with a Ray Receiver Controller. Here's the order I'd go in.[2]

Every recipe for this mod's items has been changed by the pack, so don't rely on what you remember from the mod's defaults. The recipe blocks below show the exact in-pack versions.[3]

Step 1: Make Beams and Solar Sails

Start with the two orbital parts. You launch both into orbit, and the controllers need them to craft, so you want a stock of each before anything else.[2][3]

Step 2: Build the EM Rail Ejector Controller

The EM Rail Ejector Controller launches your Solar Sails and Beams into orbit around the Sun. You can feed items in automatically through the center of its bottom face. You'll need that automation to reach maximum output.[2]

Keep in mind that it can't fire at midday, at night or during rain.[2]

Step 3: Build the Ray Receiver Controller

The Ray Receiver Controller collects the energy. It outputs power from the center of its bottom face. It can't receive power at night or during rain.[2]

Step 4: Switch to packages

Once launching items one by one gets tedious, bundle them. You can package beams and sails into bundles for faster launches, which is much easier than sending them one by one. The Beam Package is made from Beams and the Solar Sail Package is made from Solar Sails.[2][3]

How does Dyson Cube Project work?

4 parts

Dyson Cube Project is built around two controller blocks: the EM Rail Ejector Controller and the Ray Receiver Controller. The mod also has a block called Multiblock Structure. The sources don't say how the pieces fit together, so I'll stick to what the mod's own text and the pack's recipes confirm.[3][4]

The sphere and the Dyson Information screen

The mod tracks a sphere made of solar sails. The EM Rail Ejector Controller advancements are worded around the percentage of the sails that have been ejected, with milestones at 5%, 15%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. The root advancement is "TODAY WE STEAL THE SUN!", so you know the tone.[4]

There is also a Dyson Information screen. It shows these readouts:[4]

  • Beams, as a count.[4]
  • Sails, shown as one number out of another.[4]
  • Progress, as a percentage.[4]
  • Power Gen and Power Con, both measured in FE.[4]
  • A "Needs more beams" message.[4]

The screen also has a button to subscribe to a sphere, and another to unsubscribe from all spheres. Unsubscribing returns you to your personal sphere. So spheres can be shared between players, and each player has their own by default.[4]

Power

A tooltip in the mod says power is optional. With power, you can ramp up how many beams or sails are ejected. The sources don't give any rates, FE amounts or limits, so I can't tell you how much a powered setup speeds things up.[4]

Tip: If the Dyson Information screen shows "Needs more beams", you are short on Beam items. Beams are cheap to make in this pack, as shown below.[3][4]

Crafting the parts

Every recipe for this mod's items is marked as changed by the pack, so these are the pack's own recipes, not the mod defaults. Everything starts with the beam, and one craft makes 2 of them.[3]

What the sources don't cover

Unverified The multiblock layouts, the exact jobs of the Ray Receiver Controller and the EM Rail Ejector Controller, how beams and sails are moved in and out (items, packages or automation), and any FE or rate numbers are not explained by the available sources. The pack has no config files for this mod.

How do you progress through Dyson Cube Project?

5 parts

The Dyson Cube is a late-game power project in this pack. The quest "Dyson Cube" quest unlocks after the End Game Power Options quest in the Basic Power chapter, and the quest text calls the Dyson Cube the ultimate power source, producing up to 1GFE/t.[2]

The quest asks you to get two items: the EM Rail Ejector Controller and the Ray Receiver Controller. Every recipe for this mod in the pack has been changed from the mod's default, so use the recipes below and not what you remember from other packs.[2][3]

The progression path

  1. Craft Beam and Solar Sail. These are the two things you launch, and you also need one of each for the controllers.[2][3]
  2. Build the EM Rail Ejector Controller. It launches Solar Sails and Beams into orbit around the Sun.[2][3]
  3. Build the Ray Receiver Controller. It collects the energy and outputs power from the center of its bottom face.[2][3]
  4. Scale up with Beam Package and Solar Sail Package. The quest says bundles make launches faster and much easier than sending items one by one.[2][3]

What to know before you scale up

For maximum output you need to send 8,333,333 beams and 49,999,998 sails into orbit. The quest says that is a lot, so get robust resource generation in place before you aim for it. You can feed items in automatically through the center of the bottom face of the ejector, and the quest says you will definitely need automation to reach maximum output.[2]

Watch out: The EM Rail Ejector Controller cannot fire at midday, at night, or during rain. The Ray Receiver Controller cannot receive power during night or rain. Don't count on constant output.[2]

Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use Dyson Cube Project?

2 parts

In this pack, Dyson Cube Project shows up in one quest, in the Basic Power chapter. It's the quest "Dyson Cube" quest, and it comes after the End Game Power Options quest, so expect it to be a late-game power goal.[2]

What the quest asks for

The quest has two item tasks: the EM Rail Ejector Controller and the Ray Receiver Controller. You can complete them in either order, since the quest lists both as tasks of the same quest.[2]

How the setup works

  • The EM Rail Ejector Controller launches Solar Sails and Beams into orbit around the Sun. You can feed items in automatically through the center of the bottom face.[2]
  • It can't fire at midday, at night or during rain.[2]
  • The Ray Receiver Controller collects the energy and outputs power from the center of its bottom face. It can't receive power during night or rain.[2]
  • You can package beams and sails into bundles for faster launches, which is much easier than sending them one by one.[2]
Tip: The quest says the Dyson Cube can produce up to 1GFE/t. Reaching maximum output means sending 8,333,333 beams and 49,999,998 sails into orbit. That takes automation and robust resource generation, so get those in place before you scale up.[2]
